The only BDO player who has resembled a professional at all was O'Shea. The rest look glorified pub players. Fitton one of the top players in the BDO destroyed by a guy ranking in the 40s of the PDC says it all.

Taylor looks like a jakey with his new tache. Fair play to him though for growing it.

They have sevens pitches at crownpoint down the Gallowgate, but its shitey old style sand astro and in a dive of an area, which obviously people without a car wouldn't fancy treking to or from later at night. The only other place I know is goals at Drumchapel, and even then its well away from the town and only the pitches are sevens standards, the goals are five a-side size.

Taylor has just thumped Anderson 10-3 with a whopping 118 average and Anderson averaged a pretty 106 too. Its fucking unreal how he is pissing away the competiton and constantly getting better.

Thornton had a 103 average as well.

I have to say this looks very poor in quite a few aspects. Steve West, Joey Ten Berge and Ross Montgomery would be lucky to get into the top 75 of the PDC. 750 quid I see for the last 16 and only 2 grand for the runner-up in one of the BDO's major tournaments which is chump change for a good darts player these days. You can bet the BBC and the BDO will combine to create one hell of an amateur production too. The top 5 guys on the list will make it watchable at about the semi final stage though as they are just about the only genuinely world class players in the BDO. Other than Martin Adams though I can't get my head around why some of these better players stay for buttons especially Fitton, O'Shea and Hankey who don't have other jobs. These guys will get more for turning upto the Grand Slam than they would for finishing as runners-up in the Masters.

This is going to have twice the atmosphere of Mardle-Thornton and the players are probably twice as good. Definitely could be the best match on tv for a while all things considered I think. Got a feeling we could see a nine darter too.
