  1. If we go down, I'll still be going to see Clyde. Does that make me a happy clapper, content with everything? Nope! Even in the lowland league I'll still enjoy watching Clyde (if they're winning... and existing).
  2. Has anyone actually defended the squad in that way? I've obviously blanked them from my memory as i cant recall anything similar to the statements you state. It seems to me that, on the whole, the vast majority of supporters see the same deficiencies as one another.
  3. You could argue the members had to vote for the board at an AGM. The fact there we no alternative candidates doesn't change that. To continue the same argument, the fact the board are considered by some to be failing but still they're elected is the fault of CIC members. For example, I'm sure they could vote to disband the CIC and sell the club as others have suggested. (Incidently this is not an endorsement of this view) I don't dispute the board should share some of the blame for reasons set out previously by others. I'm disputing the claim that "there is only one group culpable and that's the board".
  4. In that case, the CIC owners are solely responsible for choosing the board. That way, the board get off Scot free using your logic.
  5. I'll repeat: I took issue with the statement that the board were solely responsible. That's wrong
  6. I took issue with your comment that the board and only the board were culpable. I think you're wrong. The players and manager are. To use your analogy, if a shop worker was to smash a decorative object, the chairman and his board are solely responsible.
  7. Once again you state that "If the unthinkable happens there is only one group culpable and that's the board". That is patently not true. The players and the managerial team at also culpable. Please don't make excuses for them. The squad we assembled was considered by most Clyde fans a squad that should challenge for the league title. The players haven't performed. In fact, i think they have been a disgrace to the club. The manager lacked the ability to change that. In regard to on the pitch issues, the manager and players are the ones culpable. The board can be blamed for many things but not for the performance of those fraudsters on the park.
  8. In my opinion the centre of midfield lacks mobility and pace. It's easy for the opposition. They always have plenty of time to pick their passes. You only need to look at the Arbroath goal yesterday to see our midfielder left for dead by a simple one two. You rarely see McLaughlin making a tackle. Not a statement you like to hear about our main defensive midfielder and Captain.
  9. I thought that was a mistake at the time. He had not shown anything that indicated he deserved an extension. I didn't understand the rationale behind that decision.
  10. You misinterpreted my post. I did not say the fans created the negatively. That was the fault of the players and the managerial team. It was obvious that Ferguson had lost the trust of the fans to solve the problems on the park. That cannot be denied.
  11. Once the players are on the park they are responsible for the individual errors that have cost us many wins, draws and points. Ferguson is responsible for putting them on the park. How many points would you estimate individual errors have cost us this season? I'd suggest we would be well clear of the relegation playoffs and probably be in a promotion playoff position.
  12. He signed the squad and failed to develop any of them into better players. He had two and a half seasons to get it right and we were going backwards. I felt he continuously selected players who were not performing and he seemed to be out of ideas. He had lost the support of the fans. A lack of fan support and the negative atmosphere that was starting to engulf the club may have led to a continuing downward spiral. We needed to do something. The cup run may have been a curse as it extended Ferguson's reign. I'm not too keen on players from within the squad taking over, particularly co-managers but they have at least tried things differently from Ferguson (including dropping Higgins and playing Johnston further forward etc).
  13. It's as plain as the nose on your face. We all see individual errors costing us points practically every match. How many points have individual errors cost this season? The club hierarchy, as I've stated before, can be blamed for many things but not for our goalkeeper fumbling shots, defenders ball watching, failing to clear the ball or missing a tackle, midfielders not tracking their man or strikers putting the ball over the bar from 6 yards out.
  14. Cheers for the correction. Hopefully he drags Cowdenbeath downwards again.
  15. Who is to say that Locke's selection as manager will turn out to be a great strategy? One game doesn't make him a success or mean that they'll escape the playoff. His previous record indicates that he's a poor manager. Remember we had a random 5-0 victory against Arbroath in the cup. That didn't mean Ferguson's strategy was correct. Results wise, the issue that is killing us is individual errors by players. There's not much a manager can do about that. The only way you can fix it is by jettisoning them for better players. Unfortunately, they are all as bad as each other in the squad
  16. I agree with you about the players but the best we can hope for is to be well clear of the playoffs. The next few games will be vital
  17. We will be safe and challenging for the league two title next season. Of that I've no doubt. Five of our next six games at home, mostly against other relegation fodder. Three weeks from now we'll be complaining that the remaining games are dead rubbers as Clyde will be well clear of trouble.
  18. You can't claim Ferguson as a patsy. We all saw him "shoot the President" with our own eyes. No magic bullet, no grassy knoll, no other shooter. Too many eye witnesses for denial. Ferguson was guilty of killing our season bang to rights.
  19. If I've picked you up wrongly, I apologise. I think the board can be blamed for making Ferguson manager. I think they can be blamed for not acting to get rid of him. I think they can be blamed for giving him an extension. If they have allowed Ferguson to pay players out of his own pocket or him leaving the club financially liable at all I would be disgusted. Many fans seem to feel disenfranchised and the board should take responsibility for that as all Clyde supporters should feel their views and experiences are important. But as I said, the players and manager are responsible for the LEAGUE position and potential relegation not the board.
  20. As I said, I was challenging the statement that the players and manager were blameless for the league position. I disagree. That was all.
  21. I merely challenged thid view that the players and management were blameless if we get relegated. That statement is obviously wrong. I would suggest that the players and manager were the main reason for relegation. If we had got promotion would you be praising the board or the players and manager? We all know the answer
  22. Don't talk nonsense. The board allowed Ferguson to sign the players. A squad we were told were the best in the league. They provided funding for a Jersey trip, overnight stays etc. The mess was created by Ferguson and the players alone. The board can be blamed for many things, including choosing Ferguson, but not the league position.
  23. Surely it's reasonable to ask if they have the funds. Otherwise any Tom, Dick or Harry can waste the clubs time
