  1. Good summing up. I don't think we can underestimate the lack of monies available to Duffy though. In relation to McGachie and other crap players, most managers make bad signings. A few of his other signings did go on to play in higher leagues. I always thought that the counter attacking system that we played under Duffy suited McQueen, Marsh, and McColm. If only we had a MacDonald to finish the crosses in those days. Ferguson's tactics leave me confused on a regular basis. I still don't know what his preference is tactically after losing Easton and Lowden. Seems to me to be punt it up and hope for the best.
  2. If I remember correctly, a fair few Clyde fans wanted rid of Duffy. We can see what he's done for Morton. He was a very good manager and would do much better with our squad than Ferguson has.
  3. Serious question. Who have produced more Scottish internationalists in the last 20 years, Celtic and Rangers colts or teams from the championship downwards? Perhaps the focus should be on improving the standard of the lower leagues rather than dragging us all down to colt level. Or is it not really about Scottish football's improvement but that of the old firm?
  4. Would you go and pay £13 to watch your team playing against U20s?
  5. I thought he did okay against Cowdenbeath. When he left the park, so did any threat we carried.
  6. I assume you mean Queens Park FC[emoji3] But seriously, has anyone heard or seen the viewpoints from ourselves, who seem to be almost unanimously against it, mentioned in the press?
  7. To be honest, Arbroath do hold us back a bit [emoji1]
  8. Maybe we should suggest that the colts are placed directly into the premiership. That way the youngsters are playing against the top players in the country. It will be much more beneficial to them. Enhance their experience by taking the pressure off by having no relegation. The Old Firm could shit in their own woods.
  9. Why would the footballing authorities need to increase the money pot? Surely the 1000's of additional old firm supporters through the turnstiles will increase revenues. That's before the huge sponsorship and TV deals
  10. Don't know why you'd assume they'd get promoted. They aren't that great.
  11. Did anyone look at the reaction to the colt teams playing in the cup? Very few fans, if any, at that level were supportive. Many turned their backs on the games. It cost many teams money to host them. Crowds were poor, very few old firm fans attended. Lower league teams put out weaker squads (Clyde put up our U20s). It basically ruined that cup tournament. Well done to the Scottish football hierarchy. Now they want to ruin lower league football for the benefit of two teams.
  12. I see that the old firm offered to play all games away from home. Good for them, passing on all match day expenditure onto the other clubs. Perhaps they already know that there is no appetite for colts in the lower leagues and will cost clubs money. This idea was abandoned due to concerns about the integrity of the league [emoji23]
  13. Add him to a list including Sweeney and Gormley that some fans seemed to love but aren't very good.
  14. Surprised Pat is only 30. He had the look of a 35 year old when he played for us.
  15. Should the 2015/16 playoff final be replayed? [emoji16] http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/queens-park-break-150-years-9465208
  16. Would this be down to stewarding costs being less? I would prefer away fans in another stand as it may improve the atmosphere of you can at least see the opposing fans. Perhaps even on a clear day, hear them.
  17. Who in their right mind would want money raised going to something like the playing squad? God forbid we have a good playing squad.
  18. I seem to recall that Rangers management had issues regarding injuries with Templeton playing on artificial surfaces? Then again, he seemed to play and score against us.
  19. It's not that important to me. I don't hold anyone or anything regarding Clyde in contempt. We have a difference in opinion. That's all. I didn't think Oliver was a good centre half. He did nothing at full back that impressed me. The manager let him go on loan. I've no problem with that. You do have a problem with Oliver going on loan. Perhaps your seeking endorsement of your own minority opinion. Nothing wrong with that.
  20. If Oliver is better than the full backs at Clyde, a League two top four team, why has no other teams in the league taken him on loan? He's Lowland League class. Simple as that. Why would Ferguson let someone go on loan that's better than the incumbents? Personal dislike? Or perhaps he agrees with many Clyde fans that he's an honest pro who isn't good enough.
  21. You're probably right about me arguing for the sake of it. Johnston is poor at right back and McNiff hasn't been great. I just can't get your insistence that Oliver is better based on games played many seasons ago and the few minutes played at full back since his return. I trust the manager in this regard. He brought him into the club and loses a wee bit of face letting him go out on loan so early in the season. I don't think he would do this on a whim.
  22. What evidence is there that he's better than the two existing fullbacks? He's hardly played in those positions but he's better than the left and right backs? He certainly wasn't outstanding as a centre half Perhaps the Lowland League may be his level. (Not a criticism). I'm not keen on Johnson but he does have pace. What does Oliver bring to that position? I have nothing against Oliver and I would be genuinely interested to know what you see in him that means he's better at full back than the incumbents.
