Would seem folly to look too much into friendlies when Glen Kamara struggled against Arbroath last summer.

A PCA is like any other contract. The devil is in the detail. The majority will be legally binding, but not worth going to court over if either party breaches.

Just me that thinks Holt will be a miss? Left back traditionally a tough position to fill and there's been much worse performers over the last few seasons. I think he's been a big part of the slight upturn in form of late.

If Dundee can get something from the first two (and both teams are essentially safe), we will take the pressure off considerably going into games against Hamilton, County and Partick.
Lose the first two though and Dundee in trouble.0 -
Mark O'Hara isn't the finished article but I think it's often forgotten that he's just turned 22. Stick with him and he'll be big a player in a few years in my view.

Surely even with all his problems, he could get a club down in England. I guess perhaps a move to Scotland could be sold as a shop window (pointing towards what happened to Hendry in 6 months) but still seems very unlikely.

Starting to feel a bit like United 3 years ago to be honest

Just now, The Algebraist said:
Hendry not involved? I'll be very surprised if something this complex can get done today to be honest.
I'd take it if Hendry was staying on loan as part of the deal. Otherwise, not sure.

At Dens on Wednesday apparently

I don't know why I'm feeling a bit deflated. The signing emoji built up too much hype for what is just a 6 month extension and he's still in a place where he's free to speak to any club he wants.
Don't get me wrong, getting Jon signed up till the end of the season is a crucial bit of business but I'd hoped for a tastier announcement ie, an extended deal for Jon or one of the others or a new signing.
See what you mean, but he is such an important player in my view. No coincidence that the defence has improved with him in it.0 -
I was a season ticket holder that season and I have no recollection of David Cowan. Turns out he made 36 appearances

Rumour is we're making a signing today. Anyone able to confirm or deny?
The same agency that Kamara and Deacon came from have tweeted suggesting that they will be involved in a signing today. Other than the fact there seems to be some relationship between that agency and McCann, it's unclear whether it pertains to Dundee.0 -

That suggests he's here till the end of January.0 -
Unless I'm missing something, the only mention is in this article. There seems to be an assumption that he's off because his loan is ending in January, but I'm not convinced that translates to a him definitely leaving. I am also sure that it was reported that his loan was until the end of January.

That's terrible

Seems a smart move for Dundee, to me. Don't have the anxious wait throughout the whole of January about whether he's leaving, it gives you six months to identify a replacement, and you get the money for the January window to strengthen other areas.
True. The last thing you want is what United had when they lost GMS and Armstrong on the last day.0 -
Exact same as they're doing with Morgan of St Mirren apparently. Pay a fee now to beat any competitors, and then loan him back so he develops. Pretty smart, tbf to them.
St Mirren apparently getting £300k, plus clauses, for Morgan
Assuming he's leaving in summer anyway, this might not be a bad move from a Dundee perspective. The price needs to be right. However, take the cash, keep him till the end of the season anyway and then Celtic take on the risk of an injury.0 -
He won't be a regular No. 1 at a bigger club than Dundee. He really should be though.

Shirt on its own looks decent as a novelty kit. Just looks ridiculous with those shorts.

Hartley has his flaws but is a good appointment for Falkirk. Was sacked by Dundee at the right time (and would have taken them down) but has a good record in the Championship.
If we'd beaten Hamilton on the day before the split in 15/16, that season would have been lauded a success.
The summer of signings after that was terrible though. He scarcely couldn't have used the budget more poorly and it still hampers Dundee.0 -
Vincent doesn't deserve the criticism he gets in my book.

More likely to double your landlord's income.
But, as you say, an unlikely event.
Well no. You don't typically pay the same rent to share a building as you would for exclusive occupation. I'm sure if Dundee were to share the stadium, their rent would decrease.
Unlikely anyway, as you say.0 -
Come back when you've understood the difference between tenants and sub-tenants.
In the unlikely event Dundee United were willing to groundshare the new stadium, the more plausible option is that the company which owns the ground would lease to both clubs in part, with a large part of the stadium being common.
Whilst Dundee United would not be giving any money directly to Dundee FC in that scenario, it would cut DFC's outgoings on rent.0 -
Waddell reminded me a bit of Lee Wilkie last night. Looked very impressive and could develop into a good player. Didn't look out of place.

Bob Davidson wasn't that bad. Certainly not close to being as poor as the others.
