  1. I dont understand why there needs to be any issue here at all.

Oldco - is dead and cannot be part of any fixture list

Newco - does not have membership and cannot be part of any fixture list.

The only decision to bemade is whether Dunfermline stay up or Dundee go up. That can be quickly resolved.

Furthermore, any suggestions that Newco should be penalised in any way for the sins of Oldco is complete nonsense. The only questions to be answered are

    1. What happens to Oldco's SPL share, and

    2. How to deal with Newcos application to join our set up?

    Nail and head.

  2. But before they bought Clydebank, they were having to apply for a place in Div 3 and lost out to Gretna, so my question is why did Airdrie Utd have to apply and why could they not just transfer the league position like Rangers are trying to do?

To my knowledge they did try but they failed. That led to the purchase / piliging of Clydebank. Rangers having the league share transferred is not a certainty either and that process might fail to. At which point they would be in exactly the same position as Airdrie Utd in 2002.

Its been mentioned before but that May (hypothetically) mean Sevco look for another club to swallow up like Airdrie Utd did. A few pages back Airdrie themselves were presented as a potential option for a myriad of reasons. (nothing factual, but probably can't be totally ruled out all the same)

  3. Not sure if answered in this behemoth of a thread, but does the rangers situation differ from the airdrie one? Will Rangers have to apply like they did to take a place in SPL or Div 3? im sure they would be voted in but is the percent already set for how Scottish Football deals with clubs who enter into Liquidation?

Airdrie bought another clubs league share, Sevco5088 (soon to be "The" Rangers) have applied for the old league share of Rangers 1872 (no "The")

There is no precedent set for this, there have however been mulitiple postponed meetings by the SPL to discuss / try and ignore the topic.

There is likely to be much posturing and general fannying about by the football authorities before Sevco5088 eventually end up in the SPL with a slapped wrist for the start of next season.

  4. How could The Herald possibly know anyway? Exactly the reason i never even bothered opening the link

It doesn't know whats going to happen and I never said it did. I was making a reference to a source that states the original decision makers considered suspension to harsh. I'm sure there are others but this just happened to be the first one I found. Happy to be proved wrong if they didn't say anything of the sort.

Perhaps I should just make conjecture up and post totally unsubstantiated shite like everyone else.

  5. There is nothing in that article which states that it WILL be suspension and expulsion. It suggest only that there could be a less severe or a more severe punishment open to the panel, nothing else. Nowhere does it state what will happen.

I suggest you re read my posts as I never said it did. I said the original ruling stated suspension was to harsh. Which the article DOES say here:

" It had ruled that for Rangers' offences, a fine was too lenient but suspension or termination of membership too harsh."

  6. None of that matters, they are a laughing stock, they have been recently and will be for a very long time the butt of all sorts of jokes. They have been seen as cheats and liars and now their reputation is irrevocably tarnished or 'tainted' if you like to use last month's buzz words. From trying to sell themselves as 'the most successful club in the world' they have gained the reputation as frauds and charlatans.

I get what you mean but I don't think that will matter tbh. They are already a laughing stock here. People expect Rangers to get properly hammered, possibly to the point of extinction. Anything less than that will probably see a meltdown of quite epic proportions. And if they did win the BTC? P&B Could be quite something to behold.

  7. Thought it was expulsion that was deemed too harsh.

So if that's too harsh, and Cup ban nae harsh enough, looks helluva like a suspension?

According to the Herald its suspension AND expulsion.

  8. The Herald spoke to a couple of tax "experts" and one of them said waiting this long isn't unusual. He'd had a case last year that finished in January and the result want issued until August.

Fair enough, I have limited knowledge on these matters. Its just striking me as quite odd that something that seems so (apparently) heavily weighted towards one decision is taking so long.

  9. If that does happen then people will be seeing defeat where there is victory, just as No8 is peddling victory where there is defeat.

Rangers are an absolute laughing stock, people have been bleeding them dry for two decades, there is another conman about to take his cut and the Rangers fans are going to roll over stick their arses in the air and take their pumping again.

From the 14th of February to now things have gotten better and better, no-one could have imagined this amount of humiliation back then. Enjoy anything that comes, it's a bonus.

Whatever form Rangers end up in it will be weaker than before. But I suspect still strong enough to finish second on a regular basis, going by their season book sales alone they will still have a bigger playing budget than any other non OF team in the league. (assuming the fans keep buying them)

  10. Yes a cup ban is one of the available sanctions but both the appellate and the original panel disregarded it as far too lenient a punishment for the heinous actions committed against the good name of the game.

And Suspension was deemed to harsh. And there ain't nothing in the middle apparently (which is why they then made one up that DID supposedly fit the crime).

So cup ban it'll be I reckon. I could be wrong but I really can't see them effectively pushing the button on Rangers.

  11. I think the CVA is also a side issue. It might get accepted, its not completely impossible (although probably implausible). If it isn't then a newco will most likely parachute unsanctioned straight into the SPL. I can't honestly see anyway Rangers 2012 would ever go to SFL 3.I personally believe that has been the end game since Whyte paid his pound and now its coming to fruition.

Interesting times, I suspect the forum may go into complete nuclear meltdown if I'm right.

  12. Of all the scenarios posted in this thread, I would say no.8's is looking the more likely. I suspect a scottish cup ban will be meted out at most, Fifa won't really give a monkeys and we'll all carry on regardless.

The BTC and Dual Contracts are the real issue here. And with each passing day I'm growing ever doubtful Rangers have (as expected) lost. Its taking so long for them to make a judgement and there must be reason. This isn't open and shut and Rangers must have some kind of semi robust counter argument NOT in the public domain. We'd surely know the result by now otherwise?

The longer it takes the more likely it seems that Rangers 2012 will walk away from this proven innocent and unscathed IMO.

  13. According to D&P they will be handing over the running of the club to him tomorrow. Im guessing they see that as a formal process and he has, in effect, been running the club since he got exclusive bidder status.

Anyone appointed by the club could attend meetings though.

I see. So he gives D and P a couple of quid and gets control of the club BEFORE he's even borrowed the cash to buy it?

So he's paid almost nothing, might eventually pay almost nothing but gets the reigns / assets at Rangers anyway and a say so in Scottish Football?

Sounds pretty easy, you would think someone would have tried this sort of thing before. Oh, wait...
