  1. So people at large generally accept that Gretna 2008 are Gretna? That AFC Wimbledon won the FA Cup with Vinnie Jones? That Clydebank have always played junior football and that Airdrieonians had a bit of a temporary liquidity problem? Yes, back in the days when folk played football while still wearing their monocles these things happened all the time and nobody batted an eyelid. But in the modern age if a team is wound up and resurrected people are always going to remember that. Some folk on here seem absolutely determined to be as down about this whole affair as possible even after all that's happened. Fucking self-hating fucking Scots.
  2. Wishart said his piece when the majority of them jumped ship. The PFA gave the players quite clear advice that they were free to go. There's no indication that the ones who have stayed are being locked in cages or anything, and there's been no indication of impropriety with the Davis transfer (odd that a free transfer was accompanied by, ummm, money, but not actually bent), so there's nothing for the PFA to do.
  3. In fairness, it's a lad's testimonial, and he must have gone through the roof when the club told him that they'd managed to arrange for fucking Rangers to turn up with their first team for it. The club should certainly have taken the time to figure out why they might have been able to get the mighty Glasgow Rangers to abandon their usual preseasons against Arsenal and Paris St Germain to play against Kelty Hearts, but it's Sevco who are the only baddies here for allowing a small club to spend what is probably a good deal of money in preparation for a fixture they could reasonably have suspected that they couldn't fulfil.
  4. To avoid the inevitable "whit's the transfer budget then" probes. As for Kelty Hearts: I'm going to apply to be their coach driver next season. I don't have a driving license, but I'm sure they'll agree that this is the DVLA's fault rather than mine.
  5. I do find it remarkable that Sevco are playing chicken with everybody yet again, considering that their brinkmanship has lost them literally every battle thus far.
  6. Kenny Dalglish in a secretive move to buy Rangers. I don't know what uppers Leggatt is putting in his absinthe these days but they're working just great.
  7. Something which plainly isn't in the interests of the old company's creditors, who would be displeased with an entity that tries as hard as possible to convince people that it was an institution with 130 years of history but without paying any of its massive accumulated debt. Which is why Companies House has rules preventing that, and all other clubs have been expected by their respective governing bodies to abide by those rules in the sporting context. It's looking increasingly likely that should Sevco actually end up deigning to grace the Third Division they will do so using the name Rangers F.C., a crest they bought in a fire sale, and in royal blue strips (although they may be so gracious as to sew on their Irn Bru patches). But that would be a total exception to the norm, and for the single solitary reason that the governing body is weak and corrupt.
  8. Seeing as McCoist simply isn't going to accept being stripped of cups over the EBTs, why not go one step further and not accept getting beat off Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Cup final? Bam, that's them got another European trophy! Time to sew on another star!
  9. There is not a fucking chance in hell that Southampton will fork out nearly a million quid for Davis when FIFA have just ratified the free transfers of four other players in literally exactly the same circumstances. I have no idea who the Record think they're kidding.
  10. They can't renegotiate anyone's wages for six months after the TUPE transfer, so this presumably only applies to the third division dross and Norn Iron loyal they'll be picking up to pad their numbers out. McCulloch will still be on north of eight grand a week.
  11. You're going to pass up the chance to see your team win at Ibrox and probably outnumber the home fans because of your obsession with boycotts? Might as well just gie the sport up, wee man.
  12. When was the last time East Fife were favourites at Ibrox? Edit: Gordon Durie's first time back as well.
  13. That particular ploy was so obvious that even the media mostly picked up on it. And Matalan and Fopp have apparently both swapped across to the other side of Union Street. I'd take Google's place name labels with a pinch of salt. Didn't Pilate make a terrible decision based on pressure from the establishment and then claim no responsibility for it?
  14. Not as whimsical as it may appear to outsiders, given Stagecoach was about ready for armed guards and outriders for anything going up Whitletts Road not that long ago.
  15. Few people know that East Ayrshire was only actually fully explored in 1987.
  16. Nope. There's knowing the existence of Catholics and Protestants and there's Waffen's hysterical ravings about all Scotland's five-year-olds being steeped in bigotry. I was told in school what Judaism was as well, but must have been off with the flu when everyone else was being indoctrinated with the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
  17. There's been a wee saltire sewn into the back of the last few tops, just below the collar. Did the Norn Iron assembly really see a motion chaired to commend the club for soldiering on? Suppose it's not that crazy (although let's be honest: it's crazy). I've met a few Norn Iron Rangers supporters over the years and they've all been total mentalists.
  18. Probably the saddest thing out of the lot. The only thing that Sevco fans have been shown to be excellent at organising is harassment campaigns. Of course this is also something the tabloids are good at.
