  1. Let's not forget that they still smugly count all their tainted titles. It's a pity that it's Lazio that are the fascists and not Juve, or they'd literally be the Italian Sevco. Quite possibly even a bit worse, as crazy as that sounds.
  2. That's the general consensus. None of us mere mortals have figured out quite what it is though. As-is, the shareholders seem quite entitled simply to vote down any notion of repayment, though of course this means Ashley retains his increased holding of the retail wing (and I wouldn't be surprised if selling raging bigots t-shirts with "KING BILLY" custom printed on the back weren't a far more reliable revenue generator than the XI right now).
  3. That was over allegedly unpaid wages. There would have been a contractual obligation to pay them. This loan explicitly doesn't include a repayment schedule. It's not obvious that Ashley could even act on his holding interests such as Murray Park, unless it was obvious that the club was not capable of paying him back. As in another administration, as opposed to King simply saying he doesn't want to. Of course it's entirely possible, and indeed quite likely, that the current board doesn't have £5m to pay back. But that will need to come out some other way, such as through a winding-up order.
  4. Celtic are Player 2. If there is ever a genuine risk of there not being a "Rangers" any more, not even a tribute act, the Green Brigade will put the money up themselves.
  5. This is fucking amazing. how does that differ from the previous plan? Sevcos are like goldfish with severe Alzheimer's.
  6. The odds on Farage not being permitted to absolutely run QT as normal are extremely slim. I don't know why Dimbleby doesn't just give him the fucking middle chair.
  7. Nigel Farage will be on Question Time more often in the next six months than the Scottish National Party will. Bookmark it.
  8. If Sevco don't go up through the playoffs then there will be 16 teams in the top flight as of 2015/16.
  9. The thing is, only Farage can hold together the two parties that form Ukip: Eurosceptic Tory rebels, and racist white people. There's basically zero overlap between the two except Farage himself. If Carswell gets in they lose the North. If one of the racists get in they'll be back to BNP levels of obscurity by the time of the next European elections.
  10. I'm glad Farage is on. It gives him a rare opportunity to expose the blatant BBC bias against ever promoting his party. With any luck he dominates the show and that's all Nick Robinson talks about for a week, for once.
  11. I don't think so. The terms of the loan were that he could nominate two appointees to the board. It's not obvious that this prohibits said nominees from getting voted back off. Additionally, it is correct that there are no terms in the agreement for the £5m which require Sevco to pay it back, except in that if they don't do so then MASH retain holds over most of their assets, and a controlling interest in the retail company. So it doesn't seem as if they're compelled to vote in favour of the ordinary resolution. (They will be compelled to give an answer as to the delisting though.) I'm inclined to think that Ashley's been put in a bit of a sticky situation here due to a clever piece of bad faith by the club. He'd now rather just get the f**k out before it all falls down. I don't think this is any sort of threat: that doesn't seem to be how Ashley works.
  12. Shows with spectacular clarity how much of their support is solely out of disillusionment with LibLabCon (was going to say "the big three" but the Liberals are no longer "big"; was going to say "Westminster parties" but Ukip are just a Tory backbench group with a new rosette).
  13. Reynard-without-a-rifle isn't voting for anyone, you imbeciles. It's a troll account used solely to wind idiots up on here. Stop replying to it. Maybe one day Police Scotland will start treating "all immigrants should be raped and shot" as seriously as the word "***" and the mods will care to ban it. Until then, ignore it.
  14. Mind that time that Rafa Benitez was looking for a world-class defender at Liverpool and came up with Moshni's spiritual prequel Sotirios Kyrgiakos?
  15. I have no problem with Glens vodka. On the other hand, I do find unionist trolls leave a bad taste.
  16. There's something about the "yah I'm politically incorrect and I'm proud of it" crowd which implies rather the opposite of their supposed extreme worldliness. See the way Stuart Campbell shits the bed any time a woman stands up to him, for instance.

    Daredevil

Unbelievably fucking good. It looks to have been designed to be a cross between Fisk's primary opponents: Daredevil and the Punisher. All the grit comes from Garth Ennis's take on the latter, but as a straight-up vigilante taking on the Mob there's nothing new there for the TV, so transplant in Matt Murdock. I seriously cannot believe how fucking good this is. When Disney bought Marvel the general consensus was that the world was about to collapse, whereas it's been the best thing to ever happen to their IP.
  18. A complete non-story, except for the bit where Jimmy White is a Kipper.
  19. So you're a libertarian in the mould of, erm, David Coburn then. Noted.
  20. Nigel Farage is younger than Ian Brown, Mani and John Squire.
  21. Wow, really? He's on the "deeply odious" end of the Telegraph's blogger roster.
  22. While they still actually have MPs, which Sottish Labour MPs do you have a more favourable opinion of than Salmond?
  23. Nonetheless, it's bad enough that the Tories can't win any seats north of Berwick without failing to even stand a candidate in seats in northern England.
  24. It's within the margin of error. It would be a catastrophe for the BBC if Farage were to lose here, so I fully expect them to step up to the plate for him.
