We may well have, say, too many full-time clubs.
Not by much, if the rather tired "tenth of England" proportion is taken. There are presently only 19 full-time teams in Scotland (20 if Sevco actually end up with a team). The Premier League and Football League are both fully full-time and the Conference National is almost all full-time. That's 116. If the recession drags on much longer (and it will, because of the fucking Tories) SFL1 will be all part-time soon enough.

Not just a mention, a nice juicy link as well.
Succulent?
It's on commentisfree, though. That's basically just a free blog for any old dafty to contribute to.

Alex Thomson said from the start his agenda was to dig into the financial side, where our sports journalists failed to look Thomson looked. He has followed through on the full story though despite being out of his depth on certain sporting issues. He did well.
I'd still dearly love to know which of the succulents physically threatened him.

Strangely the BBC's live SPL annual meeting feed is using 80295 with Gers at the start
It's been the same throughout.

Should De Stefano not be with them then?
With his one share? That's 1/300th of what most SFL chairmen seem to have.

I don't disagree regarding Speirs but would say he's decent value.
Spiers's schtick is saying the opposite to other journalists. Where the other journalists are dead wrong this results in Spiers looking erudite, but that's a happy accident.

I'm amused by the whole Get Regan campaign by Sevco fans. They are dressing it up as a move for integrity, in reality it's because Agent Regan failed in his mission to get them in to the 1st Division.
I remain awestruck by quite how many people think this was orchestrated by Celtic. This is CFC's worst nightmare.

Who would be kept within our MSM ?
Richard Gordon
Tam Cowan
Stuart Cosgrove
Tom English
Graham Speirs
???
Spiers is a contrarian wee shitebag. If you're just looking for a "good guy" list here then you'll need Jim Spence added.

The notion that SPL chairmen were banking on Sevco going into the first and that we are all now fucked because NOBODY THOUGHT THEY WOULD GO INTO THE THIRD, is one of the most nonsensical things I've ever heard.
And yet that's precisely what happened. There's no way of knowing how many SPL chairmen would have voted yes had they not been assured by the people at the very top of the SFA that the stitch-up was assured.
If anything I imagine the SPL chairmen are madder at Regan and Doncaster than we are. Gilmour may very well deserve what he gets for being complicit in this, but there's no doubt that the SFA's failure here has cost him a metric fuckton of personal wealth.

What would be amusing is for Sky to state clearly and unequivocally that they will continue with the deal on its present financial terms. And then for ICT and St Mirren to be relegated in successive seasons, and go bust.

Anyone else notice the Daily Record removed Keith Jackson's "wealth off the radar" story about Craig Whyte from their website
Haw you. I believe you made a promise regarding your avatar should jelly and ice cream indeed be provided.

Sevco Scotland Ltd isn't in administration.
Yet.

Name and shame players having breakdowns on twitter, I have:
Craig Barr
Bobby Barr(both Livingston)
David Sinclair(Ayr, I think)
Rhys Weston(Dundee)
Players usually aren't very bright. They are also, as others have pointed out, quite explicitly in it for the money rather than the love of their clubs in most cases, and indeed are the primary cause of most clubs' financial troubles. Little point in being too hard on them for their misspelled, punctuation-free ramblings on their iPhones.

I'm still wating on evidence that ICT are going to go bust within 5 years without Rangers. © Fat Rangers fans in Inverness.
Do you still have a sign advertising season tickets which promises access to games against Celtic and Rangers? Another grim casualty of this debacle.

Didn't bomber also say he had the paperwork to prove sevco will be playing in SFL1 ?
In fairness, that's precisely what the email Tomo leaked this morning says. Regan was convinced it was a done deal.
If the SFA try anything now they'll get huckled.

Still that wee nagging doubt the SFA are going to 'intervene' here.
Regan's bluff has been called. 11-1 and 25-5 are killer figures to defy.

Ayr?
Ayr is in Scotland. That's a little far from Dumfries.

They were not allowed last week when the SPL had their vote.
Erm, aye they were. The stapled-together presentation ending with WE ARE RANGERS?

I'm still a little confused. Are the 'Rangers' fans still withholding season ticket money from Green in the hopes Brown will rescue the club? If so, are they going to relent once the season starts?
I thought the latest update was that season ticket sales were on hold. Safe to say that I can't see 39500 bank accounts getting raided the week before payday in any case.

The smaller SFL clubs are "little more than social clubs for their communities" according to the Hutt today. Crappy wee diddy teams, to coin a phrase. I cannot wait until he's out of a job.

Greenie for getting a RATM quote on the thread.
"They say jump and ya say how high
Ya brain-dead
Ya gotta fuckin' bullet in ya head..."

So there's 31 clubs voting today? - the 30 that were already in the SFL, plus Dunfermline who were relegated at the end of last season?
Or am I spectacularly stoopid this morning?
You're forgetting that Ross County got promoted. So it's plus-one, minus-one.

The relegation fix is off the table. SPL rules are apparently unbendable in that regard. Regan apparently furious when this was pointed out.

The Non League Show moving to 5 Live for next season. Already an outstanding bit of news for grassroots football today.

It'd be boring if any of the Fife teams were named after real towns anyway. It's more interesting for them to have weird made-up names like East Fife, Raith or Dunfermline.
