  1. I'm just saying what the Fife Free Press said. Get off your high horse mate
  2. I think the fact that an offer was made an rejected on the deadline day would be classified as last-ditch.
  3. Would tie in with the tweet from the Fife Free Press earlier today that said "last-ditch swoop for Rovers striker". More in Fife Free Press tomorrow
  4. Didn't manage to get along today but my mate who's a Dundee fan was there for both games. He said Hamill was the pick for the usual "boo boys" this afternoon at half time. Anyone hear/see this?
  5. On the subject of Brian Graham I remember watching the Morton 2-2 game this year at Starks. It's the only game I cant ever remember Mark Campbell being dominated in the air. He really had a tough game and it was Graham that caused it. Wouldn't surprise me if that was the game that alerted McGlynn. Tade was a crowd pleaser but was (and prob never will be) never a goalscorer. McBride had a stinker this season but he's only young so hopefully can push on a bit this season and get some decent crosses into the box for Graham...although that actually requires him to beat a man which he did seem scared of doing. I'd like us to get someone attack minded in midfield. Doesn't need to be "creative" just offers something further forward. One of the reason the Pars got promoted was due to Hardie's goals. I think he scored more goals in half a season that our entire midfield did all season.
  6. The last time we heard we were signing a big name in the mid-late 90's it turned out to be Derek Holmes. I'm not even expecting it to be as good as that this time.
  7. You can say it's silly all you want but it's more than just a rumour. It has come from someone very highly involved with Dundee Utd. Maybe nothing further will come of it (I certianly hope so) but I also heard from Dundee Utd fans as well that they had heard of this story.
  8. I didn't get the rumour from a drunk guy down the pub. It has come from a source within Dundee Utd. Nothing agreed as of yet and may not materialise but things are being discussed. Utd do have a recent history of bringing good young players from the Scottish League.
  9. Beat me to it. McGlynn had interview but mucked it up so Utd gave it to Houston instead.
  10. Spoke to a few people in Dundee at the weekend, one of who very well connected at Dundee Utd. Baird was apparently with Gary Kirk at Tannadice a few weeks ago being shown around. It will be either a nominal figure plus Andis Shala or just a straight swap. Obviously I can't state this as absolute fact but person I spoke to is very much in the know at Dundee Utd. I have no reason to doubt this. Would make sense with Utd going to get money for Goodwillie and possibly £250k from Reading if they are promoted. Then heard exactly the same story from several other people. I'd rather just take the cash. Andis Shala is one of the worst strikers to ever play in the SPL (just ask any Dundee Utd fan).
  11. I am honestly delighted that at this signing. Saw him a couple of times on tv last season for Hibs and he looked very decent. At the end of the day he's better that what we've got in the centre just now so it has to be seen as improvement. Also well done to the board for funding this signing. It's clear we've been weak in that area especially since we got a few injuries and we can't afford Murray to be playing there with Ellis currently out at the back.
  12. McNeil will be a good back up keeper. Yes he did make some unfortunate mistakes at Hibs but he played quite a few first team games and has won the League Cup with them. I'll wait to reserve judgement on Dyer. The last time I saw him play was in our 4-0 win at Glebe Park at the end of last season and me and my mates could not stop laughing at how awful he was that night. I don't think he got a pass to a team mate all game. However plenty of players have had horrendous one-off games and I think it's unfair to form an opinion of him on that one performance alone. I thought we needed a left back. Ellis tries and works hard and is clearly a loyal Rovers man but I just think if we are going to progress we needed something more. The majority of opponents this season attacked Ellis rather than Wilson and he was clearly our weak link. That may seem harsh but i do think his standard is top 2nd/bottom 1st division. He will be good to keep as back-up though and I think will be used more as a central defender next season. Agree that we do need a new left winger and after signing Baird hopefully another striker to join him. No doubt we will also get a loan signing from United so potentially a few strikers to come on board in the next few months.
