WRT Cameron - Have to disagree. His failure several times to quickly play in Stevenson when on the break, instead dithering and checking back was hugely frustrating. When the roles were reversed, Stevenson played Cameron in brilliantly, for Cameron then to fail to square the ball to an unmarked Scullion at the back post. On the plus side, he stopped getting caught offside when moved centrally.

Probably most clubs could manage to pull the “rehab, he’s served his ‘sentence’ card” we can’t. Media would be all over this.
We need to be squeaky clean for next few years.

So begs the question - “why the hell is he pulling on the strip at all?” Sounds like Duffy made his peace with him if he has signed him before but this is the first major test of the board allowing Duffy to make. “ football decisions” as that must surely come within the framework of not dragging the club through the court of public opinion again, especially this close to the crown point decision.

Yes. He’s still been around the club. He was out training pre-match about 2 weeks after he had the surgery. He was training with the squad the whole time. What happens on the park is 90 mins out the week, he’s still a Clyde player the rest of the time too, experiencing the garbage season with the rest of the boys.

So tl;dr aye, of course it’s a fresh start.

The money is obviously a huge part of it too, but it’s only one of about 40 reasons he had to not stay at Clyde. Certainly don’t grudge him the move.

Take your point. Ah well, so the phrase used for a long term absentee returning of “it’s like a new signing” is utter bollocks too for the same reasons.

I think there's a lot more to it than that. It may be unfortunate but the fact that he was under contract with us means that it's our fitness team that have to work with him, but that's just the way it goes. He owes us nothing.

Also, you can't blame the boy for wanting a bit of a fresh start after last season. Peterhead are certainly showing more ambition than we are.

Fresh start? He played one game then was out for most of the season. Another year would be just like a fresh start. More likely, as has been intimated is the deal offered was bettered by Peterhead.

Was speaking to a relative of Rennie last week

He didn’t give any indication that he was moving on but did say that he hasn’t been fully fit since joined the club and thinks a full preseason will do him good

I really hope so as Rennie showed ability on the ball, but was ponderous and didn’t chase back. If it really was fitness then fingers crossed we might have a decent goal threat. That said, as Stonehouse said before (iirc) he gets into good poacher positions but we still need the service line.

The issue despite the board offering alternative proposal is that B Teams are still included.

I actually think an additional league featuring ‘Lowland. And Highland league’ is appealing however not with any B team in it. That is the fundamental line in the sand for me.

Pity the club never seem to be caving to the financial bribe like perhaps some others? So my vote will be a NO to conference league as long a B team is included.

And it’s not even particularly tempting bribes. FFS, is £40k the going rate for a lower league team to drop its knickers?

Well that's the end of a particularly brutal season for both of us and we meet again in League Two. I honestly thought you were going to turn it around last night until injuries and tiredness kicked in. One consolation for us is we won't have two marathon trips to Annan next season. I hope we can both turn it round and be battling each other again at the top of the league next season.

As long as you finish 10 points adrift of us in second then fair enough 😉

  8. So, did the Rennie fan club enjoy that performance tonight from him? He is a luxury player who needs actual grafters and triers to do all the dirty work and put in the effort so he can be "in the right place to tap it into the net". A big lump of a lad who make a token gesture to jump beside a centre half with no intention of actually winning the ball. Frustrating as f**k. The one player who looked like he really gave a f**k tonight ended up with his foot facing the wrong way. I really hope that is not a career ending injury for Quitongo. Terrible thing to happen to anyone.

Suggesting that the Council were looking for an excuse to get rid of us to “ Welcome “ Rangers Women’s team and Broomhill is a tad conspiracyesque no?

They didn’t need an excuse they could have just let our lease run down and not renew

Regardless, as soon as they said they were not renewing the lease, it left us with zero leverage to try and negotiate any deal with them other than something worse that the existing arrangement.

Why are we bringing up all this again a year after it’s happened? Move on man.

We decided to leave Broadwood early, it was our choice and we could have been playing there this season.

Open goal have a year to year running lease. Now the money man is gone they will very likely not be at Broadwood next year.

    it’s not a conspiracy.

Who said it was a conspiracy 🤣? Why are we bringing up leaving Broadwood early (which I was responding to), a year after it happened? It happened, and I was not overly disappointed that it did.
