This was based on us having a certain player on our books. Had we not capitulated to the pressure of a backer, I think we would have renegotiated a similar shitty deal with NLC for the coming years and not been made homeless.

It was a former chair and finance guy, who gave NLC notice of OUR intention to leave, was it not?

Or was that the excuse they were looking for to get rid of us and Welcome the Open Goal experiment and Celtic Ladies? That player was on our books for several seasons before the statement, so if he was the reason then why was he not banned from the stadium long before and club given longer notice to find an alternative venue? I don't buy the "it was NLL who ran it" excuse - NLL are answerable to NLC so influence could have been brought to bear very easily earlier on.

That a decision was made to leave Broadwood at an early stage when we may well lose to the competing bidder, which I see as being a real likelihood. There doesnt seem to be much acknowledgement at the poor decision making over the past 18 months over the move, the manager, the recruitment. Not to mention how it looks to whoever decides upon it.

NLL had stated they would not renew out lease beyond this season. The stage of the Crownpoint bid is completely irrelevant. If we had seen out our last year of our lease, what difference would that have made to our finances or long term security?

Kurtis Roberts was the difference between the sides today, always pressing to get the ball back.

Mcgeever also looks committed but he was lucky not to be sent off in the first half for a two footed lunge. Peterhead should have been awarded a penalty for it,

Roberts - agreed, some "engine" on him

McGeever - again agreed. Lucky boy.

Yup, assumed this was the case when I saw the preview mentioning "copy 2" of the match programme further on. Strangely, though, my season ticket isn't displaying its cash balance on the TicketCo app as it has done previously, so I'm hoping there's not going to be a big hoo-ha with it tomorrow.

Probably because they have reverted to 18 tickets instead of a draw-down balance.

Yes, clearly even with buffer of David’s large wage being gone and the transfer fee which of course remains undisclosed.

We’d better prepare ourselves for a long hard slog in a very tough league. 8th would be acceptable now. Anything better will be over achieving and top 4 a pipe dream.

This is all assuming that DGW's wages came out of the general playing budget pot. There are plenty of past stories of individuals picking up the tab for select players in order to ever be able to afford them. in fact was it not a classic example of the John Brown <shudder> era that when he left, the "guaranteed" funding for a number of players suddenly got withdrawn, leaving us in a financial hole?

So, assuming DGW was funded outside of the budget or that he was subsidised over and above his equal share of the budget, then you need to look at the supporting cast from last year to give you a realistic idea of what we can afford this year if the budget is the same. Also factor in that whatever we received for the DGW transfer, a chunk of that went back to Raith due to the ill conceived load deal that saw us pay 4 or 5 month part salary for 0 appearances.

I couldn't give a shit about friendlies tbh but have to say I find Clyde's ones particularly bizarre. In a season where you're expecting to be a side with their backs against the wall you'd think Lennon would arrange fixtures against sides that would test your defence, not sides you're rolling over with ease.

Maybe we are just that good already? <sarcasm>

You have absolutely no proof we tried to sign him. Even if we did try, we didn’t sign him.

If we had I’d never have given Falkirk another penny in my lifetime and would have actively advocated against others doing so.

    He’s a fucking rapist. I don’t think there’s a high enough horse.

Taking the moral high ground with Leigh Griffiths at your club. Really? Where is the backlash against a person asking for photos of an under 16 female and allso complained about for allegedly photographing his female neighbour? Be righteous, but be consistent.

We have actually played some football at times, the goal was well worked from Splaine and Livingstone, and then a wonderful header.

Our defending is absolutely awful though, we could easily be 3 or 4 down. Two centre halves that can't win a header; the Montrose goal coming from Page's weak attempt but could easily have came earlier from Rumsby. We can't get near Gardyne either but can't really blame anyone for that.

We are really fortunate that Parry isn't drunk this week either, three great saves and the pen. Think that's our first saved penalty in a match since Kyle Gourlay in the Elgin game where DGW scored a hat-trick. Nearly 5 years! I'm not convinced it was a spot kick and I'm not sure how the referee could give it either from this side.

Referee has been all over the place. I'd have had no complaints if Gomis had been sent off for his tackle.

I would agree with you - but have spent most of the game watching seagulls and the centre circle via the live stream

The stream was as brutal as our “football”.  AI camera can’t cope with sunlight and still gets distracted by other moving white objects like plastic bags and, I think, the Dumbarton keeper’s boots.  These things should have been sorted by now.  Several losses of signal and no audio after a few minutes (maybe not a bad thing).  While I’m on, why did the ref think wearing Dumbarton colours was a good idea?  If the Dumbarton subs had warmed up in that kit, he’d have told them to cover it up.

Neither the football nor broadcasts like this are really worth watching, I’m afraid.

Isn't that the Pyro that the yoof's set off toward the end of the game?

Agreed, the recruitment team should be looking constantly for new players and don’t buy in to what was said last week that there’s not many players about. Dumbarton signing 3 players and east Fife also adding 2. Alloa the only team below us not to sign a player this window yet. Seems to me that the “recruitment team” simply canny be arsed

Agreed. their sole, focussed job is to scout, assess and recommend a LIST of potential targets. They know when the signing windows are so plenty of time to make enquiries and run it past the manager. To not even announce 1 addition 15 days into a transfer window raises questions and sounds alarms bells. When you do your business early then the fanbase get some comfort that the signings were planned and wanted. A surge of loans at the last minute smacks of desperation at the bset of time but when you have a full time scouting/recruitment team as well.......?
