  1. Please see below for reasons why we are adamant we will lose. We are not talking down our team, if anything we are being optimistic by mostly suggesting a 2 or 3 goal defeat.
  2. His boast of a mighty FIVE season tickets really is the most patronising guff imaginable,.
  3. Yep pretty clear from this Twitter thread that he was an invited guest of the club https://twitter.com/EuanMaxwell93/status/1343172205216215040 Not that my support was really amounting to much these days anyway, but I will certainly be stepping back my support from the club until there are big changes at all levels of the management of the club. Absolutely rotten to the core at present. I don't think the board could be more detached from the fans if they tried.
  4. I think Gus at least acknowledged we were really poor and tried to make us stuffy and hard to beat. Obviously it didn't work, and the problem with such a strategy is as soon as you go a goal down your plan A is gone and we didn't really have the ability to successfully apply a plan B. We were at least competitive in some games under Macpherson, not least when drawing at Pittodrie. I wouldn't trust Allan Johnston to drive to Aberdeen unassisted, never mind picking up a result there. I find it hard to show any interest in an organisation that thought it was acceptable to have 3 signed defenders on the books, it really is brexit levels of self-harm and surely the worst decision our club have ever made. Oh wait...
  5. He will play as he is one of only 2 CBs we have on the books. He was also captain today in Dobbie’s absence.
  6. I didn’t mean to, I wasn’t really sure your angle which was why I asked, I understand now. I did think you were attempting to defend him, which surprised me.
  7. Out of interest would need to happen in your eyes before a change definitely needed to be made? 1 win in 2 calendar years?
  8. Poor budget/players is a cop out, and exactly the sort of crap he comes out with. Managing Queens and complaining about a poor budget is like going swimming and complaining about getting wet. Writing the season off because with have poor players is a pathetic loser mentality. If everyone shared it we might as well scrap football and hand out the trophies based on what team has the most money in the bank. A competent manager will at the very least have his players organised, working hard both individually and as a team, and following clear instructions. If we at least looked like we had a game plan I don’t think we’d be half as annoyed by the current predicament. It’s not the players’ fault. It’s all on Johnston for being hopeless at his job and the board for allowing him to remain being hopeless.
  9. Not being able to afford to sack him may explain the decision (I’m not convinced) but it doesn’t clear the board from criticism, quite the opposite in fact. Finding ourselves lumbered with a dud manager that everyone knew was a dud manager before he was appointed really has to be the most ridiculous circumstance we’ve ever found ourselves in. Pathetic.
  10. Having a shit manager and shit players is nothing new for anyone that has followed Queens for any great length of time. It’s the silence and apparent disinterest of the board that is of real concern. Not to mention the deafening silence in a season that has so much that could be said about it. I’ve not bought a PPV match since the Raith debacle. It’s a real shame as the production is fantastic, but I have so many things I’d rather do with my time than watch a disorganised rabble of supposed footballers make the same mistakes week on week. If the board can’t be arsed then I don’t see why I should. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were to “do a Brechin” and tumble down the leagues.
  11. I dislike Connor Shields Still, I managed to double my money. First time I’ve decided to cash in on our ineptitude, feeling rather daft for waiting this long.
  12. I’m very much getting the impression the board simply can’t be bothered any more. Which is fair enough to be honest, I certainly can’t.
  13. Never has the phrase "rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic" been more apt. Giving Dobbie a partner would clearly be beneficial given how the rest of his Queens career has played out, but aside from that as Flash points out we still have the same problems throughout the rest of the team. Not to mention the real key issue, which is the loser that is in charge of them.
  14. You forgot to mention the manager that has all but conceded we'll lose this game a week in advance. This could honestly be a massacre today.
  15. I remember some time back playing Hearts in the league or Scottish Cup. Steven Leslie scoring an equaliser just before half time and a great roar from the crowd for the goal! Edited to add the match report from that night - http://www.qosarchive.co.uk/180899.htm
  16. All the more reason to do everything possible to accommodate him. He couldn’t do the isolated lone striker role in his 20s so he sure as hell isn’t going to when he’s pushing 40. “He’s getting on a bit what are we meant to do?” is exactly the pathetic loser mentality I’d expect from Johnston though. An ageing Dobbie is still a huge asset and comfortably still our best player.
  17. I’d be interested in a comparison of goals scored by Dobbie under Naysmith and goals scored by him under Johnston. It’s a long list of failings, but one of his biggest has to be his complete inability to get the most out of the greatest player to have played for the club.
  18. I can't say I had considered this match particularly pivotal in the manager's future. Saturday will be a year since we were papped out of the Scottish Cup by Queens Park. You could probably have made a case for sacking him every single subsequent week that has passed, and the case has only got stronger as the weeks have gone by, but it doesn't feel any closer to happening. I think we could lose 5-0 on Saturday and Johnston would remain in charge.
  19. Looks a good find. Confident on the ball and a threat going forward. Hard to judge him defensively as we've been been pretty poor at the back though. Hasn't looked dodgy defensively but can't say he's been solid. He lost his marker for a goal at Ayr. It was his man for the late St Mirren leveller as well IIRC.
  20. Absolutely made up for him, another incredible performance. Oh for Queens to have even a tiny percent of the grit and determination on show last night.
