Realistically, all things being equal, Yoker, Rutherglen or Arthurlie would not have contested the Junior Cup Final if old set up was still in place.

I do get your point, but you won't be surprised that I don't necessarily agree with you. In 2013 (prior to the mass exodus from the East Region to the EoSFL) Glencairn reached the semi final, and only missed out on the final due to a flukey own goal for Auchinleck and the worst incorrect offside decision in history denying us an equaliser. That season we finished 6th in the old West Region Super League Division One, the equivalent of the WoSFL First Division where we are just now.

Sometimes lower League teams reach the final. Shotts Bon Accord won the Scottish Junior Cup from the same league the season before we reached the semi final.

  2. WoSFL League Championship rule number 12 :-

"The Fixture Secretary shall, by 1st July or as soon as possible thereafter once dates for the Scottish FA Cup and South Region Challenge Cup are announced, produce a fixture list for the season. This fixture list will be subject to change depending on match postponements, cup replays etc. A minimum of 4 days’ notice will be given of any re-arranged fixture."

Do most clubs in the WOSFL not have a youth pathway now and this is required as part of the pyramid system?

A lot of teams do, yes, but I'm not sure if it has reached "most" yet.

No, it is not required as part of the pyramid system, neither is it required for Scottish FA Licensing.

Youre factually correct however its Complete and utter nonsense you never saw your wullie Knox, bobby dicksons and dennis Gray's needing these qualifications to manage to a great standard .

Take your opinion up with the Scottish FA. 😉 I just give you the facts.

From my understanding the qualfications requirement for entry level licensing is an adult level one qualification, which you can get in a few evenings, it's not really a barrier to anyone wanting to coach

The level one qualification involves the 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 sections, which I think are a couple of nights/days for each session. However, 1.2 cannot be booked until 1.1 is completed, and similarly 1.3 cannot be booked until 1.2 is completed. The Scottish FA coaching courses are usually booked out a few months in advance, so it's not just a matter of appointing a manager without the qualifications and sticking him on a course for a few evenings the following week. It took Glencairn's manager and coach 6 months to get the courses completed a few years ago.

Can't be many left in the Demolition Cup.

I guess it could be run as a weekend tournament making full use of Broadwood.

Let's just wait and see which teams are in the SJC and which are in the SDC. 😉 The deadline for WoSFL Club Annual Returns is today, ahead of the AGM tomorrow, amd clubs have to declare if they are entering the Scottish Junior Cup. The SJFA tweet yesterday only gave a list of teams joining the SJFA.

....no tannoy of the lineups, no tannoy announcements of goalscorers....

That's a surprise, as they have the facility for a radio mic to be used at pitchside, I do it for the WoSFL finals.

For the South Challenge Cup Final there were announcements made from the control room at the top of the stand.
