  1. Well looks like Supergirl has discovered her Kryptonite. Ostapenko pulls off the shock and now moves 4-0 clear in their head to head. Coco Gauff will be the clear favourite to make it through, but Ostapenko can hit through anyone if she feels in the mood. Wozniacki has the same issues as Murray in that the counter punching style just doesn’t work against those that have power. After Coco went the break down in the third, she just reset, got more aggressive and just blew her away. Medvedev Vs De Minaur may be a good match tonight, Medvedev has lost his last two matches against him. Probably the best chance of an upset tonight, although if Rublev isn’t playing well Draper could beat him.
  2. They aren’t fixing it. Why do you think they wanted Grogu and extracted their blood in the mandalorian? They made a force wielding Gustavo Fring clone before they killed them all. (Or did they?). They are fixing the whole Palpatine came back from nowhere hole instead. Do feel that this is just a new Rebels Season rather than the Ashoka Show. The latest episode was fairly middling as well, with just some Easter eggs to make it exciting.
  3. A lot of that was Magnus Norman coming in and introducing the block return to allow him to smash the ball of both wings. Murray should have went and got Norman in 2019 after the hip resurfacing. Even Baez last night against Medvedev who is 5 ft 9 was absolutely smashing it. And was unlucky not to take the third set, a timely rain interruption killed his momentum as he moved 5-2 up. I can’t see Medvedev troubling either of Alcaraz or Novak. Alcaraz Sinner is shaping up to be the best QF if they both get through.
  4. Absolutely spot on. Medvedev is probably the more modern counter puncher, stands ways back but still smashes the ball. His serve gets exposed more as he can’t grind points as much as he could. His ambition is still to be seeded at Wimbledon next year, and that starts with trying to get seeded for the Australian. His team should be looking at the entry lists of any 125, 250 and 500 and entering any potential weaker fields.
  5. Dimitrov saves three match points to win in the fifth set tie breaker.
  6. Doesn’t appear to be any issues with the injuries in terms of the serve so far, that may change the longer we go in the match, but he’s playing pretty aggressively. Took the first set 6/2 but could have been 6/0. Dimitrov in deep shite in his match, he either wins in five and will be tired, or he is out. Murray would prefer to play Molcan.
  7. With the victory over Bublik Thiem got his first win at a Grandslam in two years! It has opened up nicely for him, so hopefully he takes advantage. He’s had Del Potro’s luck with injuries. As Lex said I’d expect Murray to get through today, can’t see him getting past Dimitrov if he can’t serve. A similar injury last year before Wimbledon and he was struggling with his serve. Should be a good day of tennis ahead.
  8. It’s available on Now Tv, you just have to go into the US Open main screen, and they have it listed as bonus streams.
  9. Might look into getting sky stream instead of now tv then. Id imagine it was just the broadcast feed playing silly buggers rather than your connection. Although you’d think they’d have that pretty much sorted with it being on a show court rather than than little court 18!
  10. Mine is fine, but I have it through Now TV. So the only choice of court is whatever Sky are showing on their channels. Does Sky have a red button option with multi courts? That was the best thing about Discovery/Amazon any match you wanted to watch you could watch.
  11. I thought it was lazy. I can understand someone from the dark side's hatred keeping them alive, but the shittiest Jedi Padawan ever surviving? Qui-Gon Jinn got done a dirty there. A secret map to where a main character is? Yawn. It does hint that they will be taking some of the story from Timothy Zhan's work so it will no doubt get better as the series advances. After the high bar Andor set it was disappointing. Rosaria Dawson was excellent as Ahsoka though. Chopper was great too. 6/10 a middling start with potential to come.
  12. John Stewart scored County’s 1000th goal since moving to the full league setup. It was said it was County’s 1000th senior goal, but they forgot all County’s Scottish Cup goals prior to 1994 in that count. I’m sure at the time I counted back and it was Andy Barrowman it got County’s 1000th goal in the SFL or Scottish Cup. Also the Highland League is a senior league, so they forgot that too.
  13. I had a bet builder on and elected to take a cash out when Novak had his medical time out and he looked like he was going to retire. Alcaraz was a set and 3-1 up. Went to my bed. A cash out was better than a void. Wstched the highlights this morning, and the level they can play is just tremendous. Novak will play until he can still compete with him, but it’s not going to be long until he’s usurped. Feel like a genius.
  14. We learned that from Partick
  15. What a wonderful fifth set by Alcaraz, almost Djokovicesque. Worthy champion, and the Big Four dominance of Wimbledon is over. It’s been 21 years since Hewitt won Wimbledon, since that only Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray have won it.
  16. Time warnings are independent of code violations. Time warnings - just a warning, you lose your first serve, you lose a point. Code violations - just a warning, point penalty, game penalty, match default.
  17. The only person to defeat Djokovic in a Grand Slam deciding set was Andy Murray.
  18. Two horrendous errors after the time violation and Alcaraz finished it with a brilliant return. One set a piece. Alcaraz showing no sign of cramping this time.
  19. Djokovic is just an utter giant in terms of knowing what moves to make to extract errors or get easy points. A break down and plays a solid game to get the break back. Anything Alcaraz has in his locker Djokovic has seen in playing 150 matches against the Big Four. He’s just like a chess grand master.
  20. Vondrousova already had beaten Jabeur twice this year, and if it wasn’t for a horrific run of injuries she’d be top end of the women’s game. She had previously made the French Open final and had beaten Osaka on her way to a silver medal at the Tokyo games. There was too much made of her and Svitolina being unseeded considering their very recent history of being higher ranked and both had prolonged absences from the tour. Jabeur just doesn’t get enough free points on her serve against the harder hitters. As with Murray against the big 3 it made it more difficult for him to win these matches.
  21. Even starting at 1pm would have seen the third set likely to have finished, Novak would have rolled him over 6-3 in the third set. None of the other slams have a curfew. Night sessions in Australia don't start until 7:30pm and matches are regularly finishing at 2am. The tennis players generate the money for Wimbledon but here they are catering for their hospitality customers to get their champagne brunches so they don't start Centre until 1:30pm.
  22. I am not sure you mean by Glastonbury clusterfuck - but to get tickets you need to register for the ballot. You are then randomly picked for tickets and you then have a three day time window to purchase your allocated tickets. Tickets that aren't sold get re-allocated to the queue, so even without tickets you can join the queue and you may end up with something better than the grounds pass. The grounds pass will get you access to every court apart from the show courts - Centre, 1 and 2. A grounds pass is good in the first few days as you will have plenty opportunity to see top players, later on in the tournament you're only likely to see doubles jobbers.
  23. This is where Wimbledon starts - all the British jobbers are out and they now have to talk about tennis. Andy does not have a lot of points to defend from now until the end of the year, in fact he has to defend 90 before the US Open. He is about 200 points away from being seeded. There is a grass court tournament in Newport in two weeks(250) , then Washington (500) and then the two Masters (1000). All he needs is one good run in one of them. He can then re-assess at that point and see what he wants. He has already committed to a Chinese tournament later in the year as well. I hope Andy reflects and sees although it was a tough loss, it was a good loss in the grand scheme of things. It takes a World #1 to beat Tsitsipas in Grand Slams this year. Lost to Novak in the final of the Australian, and then to Alcaraz in the QF of the French. I watched the Lehecka match earlier and thought he played really well, Berdych has done really well with him. That was his fifth seed he has beaten in the Slams this year. It will be interesting to see what he can do against Medvedev. I feel sorry for Berdych imagine being good enough to beat Djokovic and Federer on Centre Court to only have to then play Nadal in the final. Roblev Bublik is likely the only match worth watching tomorrow from the Men's side, just because of the randomness of both players, lots of variety, and a high chance for mental breakdowns. It will be interesting to see if Andreeva can follow up her high profile win, she is building quite a resume despite only being 16. Svitolina Azarenka should be a great match, and will be interesting if they will be any needle in the match at all.
  24. He couldn’t match his performance from last night today. Whilst Tsitsipas was able to. If it could have finished last night he’d likely have won, but I’m not convinced he hasn’t hurt himself in that fall last night. Its a shame as the draw has opened up and would have a genuine chances to make the quarter finals. He is on the cusp of being seeded, just a couple of good tournaments prior to the US Open. He has already committed to Washington and a Chinese tournament later in the year. Next year will be his last Wimbledon and I think he will call it quits at the Olympics. Although it’s at Roland Garros so might just go and play doubles. Another very credible performance by Liam Broady just being edged out in four tight sets.
