Most of the Williams Bros. beers from Alloa are worth a try, particularly Cock O The Walk, Birds and the Bees, Seven Giraffes and Good Times. My favourite is Scottish Session (for a session, obviously) but it's not one of their regulars and it's not easy to find.
IMO the best that they do. Birds and Bees and Grozet not far behind. Their brewery is close to the house so it's handy to pop down and pick up a few crates now and again.
Their Ceilidh lager is also pretty good.

Every time I've driven through places like Plean and Harthill it always seem to pishing with rain and there's an Orange Walk on
I work in Larbert so drive through Plean quite a bit. There really is no need for that place to exist.
Armadale - my God that place is grim. Honourable mentions to Holytown (which just looked completely closed) and Forth (which just looks isolated from the rest of humanity)

Alloa played Celtic at Brockville in the Scottish Cup back in 2002 after police decided the Recs was unsuitable to host the match due to it's small capacity.

One of the best football matches I ever had the privilege of attending was the challenge cup final against Alloa (4-4) Alloa won on pens, now they have given a performance as good as the one witnessed that day with their statement tonight.
Kudos.
Agreed. A fantastic game. One of the best days I've had as an Alloa fan (we don't get that many) Good to see you think the same even though you missed out.
Cheers to everyone for the well wishes. It's taken us a while to come out with a public statement but it was well worth the wait.

Phew.
Was getting concerned for a few days. Very welcome news.

If the vote is deferred today and SFL clubs DO vote on thursday then they are a disgrace. All football league clubs' fans should be lobbying their clubs to ensure the vote next week gets punted until these clowns can ACTUALLY get around to making a decision.
I reckon this is why Stenny and ourselves wanted yesterdays meeting postponed. How on earth can the SFL vote before the SPL? SFL needs to hold firm. Stand them off. Then if nobody makes any decision no newco is admitted to any league and we play next season a team short. If I know our chairman he'll be pushing for exactly this if there is no vote today.

We'll be a definite no to SFL1. Just havn't announced it publicly yet.

Falkirk, Dunfermline,Raith Rovers, Morton, Peterhead, Annan are all definate No votes for Newco in the SFL 1 is there anyone I have missed out.
Longmuir really needs to see that when three of the larger clubs in the 1st are lining up together he is flogging a dead donkey.
Alloa have just posted on the official website that they are seeking fans views. If the replies on the Duffle are anything to go by then it will be a definite no. Also don't think our chairman has any great love for the team formerly known as Rangers.

Emergency board meeting planned at Alloa Ath. to confirm their position on this.
I certainly hope we do the right thing and vote accordingly when the time comes. At least the Chairman now knows my feelings on this.

Closed doors under Hartley definitlely means closed doors.
This might help a bit -

Similarly, I want to go from Falkirk to Stirling. Recommended or not?
Dont know if this is any help but Larbert to Stirling via Plean is fine. If I can get through anyone can.

That surprises me.
Must be a shit driver, or maybe he couldn't get out of his street because it was being blocked by an Alfa!
My boss has an Audi with intelligent 4 wheel drive,( like my Sportage ) and he's managed through the worst that been flung at us the past week or so, in spite of being a self confessed not very good driver.
That's a distinct possibility.
One of the guys in the office asked me last Monday if I had 4 wheel drive on my car. I just looked at him. Then burst out laughing.
It's not so much grip that's my problem. Basically because the snow hasn't been cleared at all on the road into our car park my car is grounding itself on the ice underneath. Rode my luck so far. Not pushing it for tomorrow as its going to freeze like f**k tonight. Not taking the wife's car as she's trading it in on Saturday and I really don't want to risk crashing it.

To be fair though I did make it in today and all of last week which is more than the guys with a Subaru Forester and Nissan Juke did. No show from the Audi drivers too.

Well I left work at 2. No way was I pissing about in that at 5. Absolute joke trying to get out of our Industrial Estate. Even the cops were going round roundabouts the wrong way. Of course I meet a big f**k off truck when I try it. It's the train for me tomorrow (if they're on). My car doesn't like this at all.

Alloa to Larbert pretty tricky this morning. Still pishing it down. Looks like I'll need the shovel out to get home. Fun and games again.
Just heard the A80 northbound is shut.

Pishing it down in Larbert just now. This keeps up and I'm not getting out of our car park today. Ho hum.

Alloa to Larbert - no problem. The last 100m into our car park - 1.25 hrs.
Where is LiviClyde when I need him?

Just back from watching Sherlock Holmes. Even with Guy Ritchie directing we thought it was very good.
Robert Downey jr and Jude Law make an entertaining double act. Good updated version.
Definitely a sequel planned.

Thats the way it invariably works in these situations, the chancers whose mismanagment contributed to the mess in the first place will be gone when the sh*t hits the fan. In this case think Bill Hunter, Dominic Keane, Pearse Flynn and Massoni.
Its a shame for the employees and those fans who have grown up with or adopted Livingston over the past decade or so but for the institution that is Livingston FC this is well deserved. Hijacked a well run club to replace it with an overblown and financially unviable franchise who bought their way to success with money they didnt actually have. All that has finally caught up with them and I have no sympathy at all in that respect.
Plus with Airdrie out the way Division 2 has opened up very nicely . Enjoy Cliftonhill lads.
Couldnt agree more especially the last sentence. I would have expected Airdrie to finish higher in the league than us.
No sympathy at all for the bunch of cheats. I assume we voted the right way today.

Jim Leishman should *not* be party to any discussion on this let alone be in a position to influence a decision either way.
Aye, you couldn't make it up.
I hope our representative does the right thing and votes accordingly. If it is who I think it is then I don't think there will be much sympathy for Livi.

The club meeting has been cancelled due to objections of a less than min 14 day notice period by a majority of clubs. SFL are going ahead with a decision today without their input nonetheless.
Isn't it the League Management Committee that are meeting today?
Representation from Airdrie United, Albion Rovers, Ayr United, Alloa Athletic, Arbroath, Partick Thistle along with Malcolm Mackay and Jim Leishman.

Surely for Livingston to continue as a football club they are going to have to deal with other businesses on a day to day basis.
Which businesses local or otherwise will be mad enough to deal with this bunch.
"What do you mean you need payment for your services. What madness is this? Can you wait a year or so then we can offer you a fraction of what we owe? If you're lucky"

It's about the same. I was buying one of their Fraoch 22's at the same time so it changed the price a bit. Still cheaper than buying them in Tesco who are charging £1.75 a bottle. And of course no shipping cost.
They don't have a shop so you just sort of turn up and wander in. They're quite friendly.
