I was a student in Edinburgh in the seventies and came across him and a band in a pub on the Royal Mile. Funny as.....
Much later in life he did a cycle tour revisiting places he had previously toured as a comedian. He contributed to some music for that series that was wonderful.0 -

My game is falling apart.
I’ve been down to a 5 handicap but my numbers have been on the up and up for months and months now.
I can drive just over 200m, fairly reliable and generally straight.
My main troubles are getting from my drives onto the greens. I just can’t get the blighters on the dance floor AND I’ve lost the ability to scramble.
If I happen to get on in regulation then I three putt.
I’m despairing.

3 weeks into our 1 year golfing tour and we have played: Muriwai, South Head, Tapora, Northern Wairoa (x2), Kaitaia (x2), Houhora (x2), Carrington, Whangaroa, Okaihau, Waitangi and Kerikeri.
Played Kerikeri today. Its longer than all the other courses we have played in the last 3 weeks. It’s a real test.
They have five par 4’s that are JUST under the 400m limit. Their par 3’s are long as well at: 160m, 183m, 174m and 124m.
On the flip side it’s a pretty flat course and the fairways are pretty wide. Greens were quite slick.

These NZ birds are called Piwakawaka or Fantails.
They follow you around the golf courses hoping that you disturb small insects.
