  1. I have in the past yeah But I don't have as much time to watch or keep up with football before for a a lot of reasons / family / health / and others - but yeah - I know about Scotland only beating Zaire 2 - 0 in the 70's (I think) where we went out because we never scored enough against them when the 2 other teams did Some past results I have read, some I have not and probably won't have the time to anymore
  2. Apology accepted I never knew Scotland were in a world cup group with Costa Rica before but I was born in 1993 so wouldn't know
  3. I thought you were referring to the defeat at Hampden a few years ago No need to be a dick.
  4. Is this the same Costa Rica team who got to the quarter finals of the last world cup?
  5. Gordon McTominay -- Hendry -- Tierney Patterson -- Gilmour -- Armstrong -- Robertson McGinn Brown -- Adams
  6. I genuinely think that there will be a few players who announce their retirement Craig Gordon and David Marshall are both in their late 30's. Marshall has 47 caps though so can see him staying on for another campaign to get to the 50 mark The goalkeeper situation is worrying though overall, all 3 of the goalies in the final squad are in their 30's and I can't think of a young keeper that is looking to break into the Scotland pool. We have been blessed having 3 really good keepers in Gordon, McGregor AND Marshall the last 15 years but we need to look to the future Declan Gallagher is also 30ish I think Though not in the squad I can't see players like Considine, Steven Naismith, Shinnie, Bannan, Phillips, Russell ever getting getting in the squad again Also with the emergence of Turnbull and Gilmour I can't see John Fleck getting another game especially as Kenny McLean and Ryan Jack will return I hope that we can breed some young new players in now, but I am deeply concerned with keeper situation as Gordon and Marshall can't go on forever, and McLaughlin is no spring chicken either. It will be interesting.
  7. C'mon Scotland. I'm 28 so don't really remember 1998, so looking forward to this. We can do it.
  8. Maybe I think Hendry and Cooper are better options than Hanley and Gallagher
  9. Marshall O' Donnell Hanley Gallagher Tierney Robertson McTominay McGinn McGregor Dykes Adams
  10. Marshall O'Donnell McTominay Hanley McKenna Taylor McGinn Gilmour Turnbull Adams Fraser
  11. With all the pull outs due to covid I would play Gordon Tierney McTominay Cooper Robertson Gilmour McGregor Armstrong Turnbull Christie Dykes Edited - I thought Marshall was still in the team but he is not
  12. I agree - but he still has something that no other player has - the skill to score out of nothing
  13. Also have a feeling Calum Paterson may go instead of Palmer - Paterson can cover right back and striker
  14. If Clarke chooses this squad I'd be pretty happy with it - tempted to take Griffiths but would understand if he doesn't go Mclean and Jack are very unlucky with the injuries - both would have went
  15. Henshaw and Furlong would be in I agree Furlong is better than Fagerson - I like Fagerson but Furlong is better Henshaw is a great player
  16. there are 3 scrum halves Ali Price, Gareth Davies and Connor Murray
  17. Harris fully deserves to go - I watch him in the Premiership and he good at attacking too - very good player
  18. What are peoples thoughts on a 23 test team from the 37 named today I would go 1. Sutherland, 2. George, 3. Furlong, 4. Henderson, 5. Wyn Jones, 6. Beirne, 7. Watson, 8. Simmonds, 9. Murray, 10. Russell, 11. Watson, 12. Henshaw, 13. Harris, 14. Williams, 15. Hogg. 16. Owens, 17. Jones, 18. Fagerson, 19. Itoje, 20. Curry, 21. Price, 22. Farrell (if he picks up form), 23. Daly I would imagine the 9 and 10 combo will depend on who starts at fly half - if Russell then Price and if Biggar then Murray The 3 Scottish players unlucky to lose out are Gray, Ritchie and Maitland
  19. I forgot about Oli Burke - I think he may go - good shout I have a question - is James Forrest still out? - I have not saw him for ages?
  20. What's everyone's thoughts on this I personally think it is a good thing - I think 23 places is a bit thin especially for injuries etc And wondering what 26 Clark will pick Goalkeepers (3) - Marshall, Gordon, McLaughlin Defenders (9) Palmer, O'Donnell, Gallagher, Hanley, Hendry, McKenna, Cooper, Tierney, Robertson Midfielders (9) McLean, Armstrong, McGregor, Fleck, McGinn, Christie, Forrest, Gilmour, McTominay Forwards (5) Adams, Dykes, Shankland, Fraser, Paterson Ryan Jack and Oli McBurnie are out injured - I can't see Griffiths making the squad either - I reckon the squad will be something like above. What do others think?
  21. Russell scored that game I think - so did McLean (think it was a really good header in the first half?)
  22. What's the problem with McLean? I wouldn't start him but he has never let Scotland down
