  1. It's another body in the door at least, although our track level of loan signings from that level doesn't give me much hope he'll he any improvement on the ones we have sent back a couple of weeks ago.

Time will tell though and good luck to the lad - really hope he is here to improve the standard of the starting XI and not just to beef the squad back up a bit

  2. Last time I saw us play Dundee Utd at Somerset we were 5 days off the back of a 0-1 defeat at Auchinleck and we still beat them.  Based entirely on that logic i fancy us to absolutely hammer them this time- 3-1.   McKenzie probably seeing as he's got more this week than in 90% of his career, new guy we haven't announced yet and McGinty.

I was in line. It wasn’t a free kick and it wasn’t a dive. He just fell over.

Makes it all the more baffling Welsh as en experienced midfielder sells the jerseys and gets sent off for a silly foul right after you have scored.

It's up there with one of the daftest I've seen.   Basically won us the game

Rose is another Ashford type. Drop him down a division and he'd probably make an impact. Might get away playing against the bottom teams in the championship but will need to step up to cut it at this level

Said the same after midweek- his performances v Arbroath twice and Kelty suggested he'd defo be worth keeping if we did end up in L1 next season haha

Aye its absolutely fine the now.  Sadly it's not a 3pm kick off though...

Update - I can exclusively reveal that there are 2 empty wheely bins that have blown over on Burnett Terrace.   I think this is the wind equivalent of "i live 5 mins away and my back garden is still frozen / waterlogged"  so I'm now saying game off.

The first hour today was the most bored I’d been at a football match in years. Absolutely turgid, uneventful guff.

Apart from A couple of speculative efforts and McCallister getting made an arse of, nothing happened, not a dreadful performance. Just boring.

Once we went 2-0 up, the team started to actually play some football and we ended up comfortable winners.

Folk booing McGinty, Smith or both was weird when they presented McGinty with his award. Rose sticking his fingers in his ears when he scored, if he thinks the criticism of the team, or even worse, him has been unjust, he can f**k off now. Stunk the place out since he joined and had the lack of self awareness to celebrate like that. He and the team could have used today as a clean slate but that kind of stuff can f**k right off.

No defensive errors that led to opportunities, We were passed around for a lot of the game and couldn’t get the ball back. We had a better shape though and Whyte made substitutions that Bullen would never had made, McKenzie made a big difference once he came on, Rose was effective and actually looked capable for once.
Had low expectations today and they were surpassed by a small margin.

Rose seemed pretty happy at the end- made an effort to come over to all the kids for high fives and photos etc like Adeloye used to do.  They're all away thinking he's amazing 🤣

As said - they can do all the work in the world off the park but success on it is what gets folk coming back.

Tomorrow is a good example with the kids teams offer - my sons 2015s team have most of their squad going- he and one other have season tickets so would probably go anyway, there's 2 others who go semi regularly but looking at the list of names I think it will be the first time at Somerset for a few of them and maybe even the first ever live game attended for one.

What a difference it might make with regards to nagging mum and dad to go back if tomorrow sees a good comfortable home win and  couple of goals to cheer with their pals etc rather than a miserable 0-1 defeat with no noise from the crowd other than grumbles / boos etc.

What a day that ended up being - the boys got on the park at Half Time for the penalty shoot out thing - usually something to totally ignore but made today a bit special for me.

Game went as well as it could have - comfortable enough without ever looking great, good draw tomorrow and who knows.

In any case, it does not make one iota of sense that Smith would tell a new manager he couldn’t bring in an assistant manager.

I suspect it would be more of a case that the wages on offer wouldn't be enough to convince both him and his assistant to relocate up here rather than us refusing to pay for an assistant

  10. It's embarrassingly amateur level - "aye the manager is clueless but he's a lovely guy and he does a lot of work fixing up the dressing rooms and gives up his Wednesday nights for training and always gets a round in in the pub after matches so he's got the job for life, cos who else would want it anyway"

They MUST have some sort of barrier between on and off the park with this next appointment.   We can't accept brutal performances on the park cos the manager is great off it.   By the same token, we surely wouldn't want to be in a position where we were playing well and challenging but the manager was under pressure cos he was shite at mingling with folk after the game / going to community events
