Regardless of how results go over the next two months, it could all be undone by the loan players we have leaving. It would be good to have some of that sorted in the coming weeks
Aye. That team today all of a sudden losing Dowds Chalmers and Senga instantly goes from playoff contenders to how many points off 9th are we

Bullen hates Amarety. Until we empty BGM you'll not see Franny start a game.
Astonishing he's not using him here.

Just couldn't clear. Time to turn the telly off now and check result later probably

What are you talking about?
We are playing well tbh.
Was just gonna say the same - it's been a decent enough game and we've played pretty well.

Someone introduced themselves to me as such and such from pie and bovril down in Dumfries a couple of years back. I know their real name now (obv not wanting to say) but can’t for the life of me remember their pie and bovril name
I've a vague memory that might have been me

I'm still fuming my 22 fcuking quid to watch a 0-4 went on paying for that dug. 39 years old and possibly the most annoyed I've ever been at the club. Didn't take long to top paying 6 quid for my season ticket holding 7 year old to see the Falkirk game

Morton getting a point at Tannadice despite having to loan a couple of bench warmers out to free up funds to sign a right back, and Kirk Broadfoot/Jack Baird partnership at CB. Went 1 down and got a draw. We would have lost 5 or 6-0 there today.

That pish in the SRE tonight annoyed me more than the game itself. A third party security company brought in with sniffer dogs and everything. For a few young boys watching the team they love.
We are so in touch with the community though…
Most of those boys are there every week but for ones that maybe aren’t as invested that were caught up in that, I doubt they’ll ever be back.
Sums up the calamitous reign of this shower, papered over by a few construction projects.
Knowing that my £22 quid is used to pay for that shite rather than maybe helping a tiny bit towards the playing budget etc that I still naively convince myself as a justification to stump it up has made it a million times easier to make other plans for the day of the Raith game.

Thanks for Josh Mullin. I assume with your results thus far you’ve adequately replaced him?
We lost 0-5 to Partick in May with Josh Mullin playing 90 mins, and only lost 0-4 today with Jamie Murphy playing 90 mins so it's quite clear that we have actually not only replaced him but signed a much better replacement

Ayr, Ayr are falling apart again
First time I've heard that song and it was being sung from both ends of the ground. Will be stuck in my head for a month now

Is it not more a case of them being able to hurt their opposition but not play against the parent. I don't see the downside for the parent clubs.
Takes a wage away too. If you play one up front and have both Graham and Adeloye (sorry haters) then you have two of the best centre forwards in the league competing for a place. Why pay another ?

The fact we have got Chalmers and Dowds on loan. I take it their two parent teams don't expect us to be much of a threat this season.
Don't really care tbh as long as they both play well for us.
If they are both rotten for us and their parent clubs dont rate them then it's poor from all 3 clubs for having signed them for this level in the first place.

The national team providing some welcome respite tonight.
Not going to lie, I'm finding the club break between internationals absolutely fucking brutal these days

Jakubiak signing for Dunfermline so that's another potential CF off the list

Lower league team or not, I don't think the result was that big of a surprise. Ayr would be battling mid-table in league 1 at the moment.
Which is why folk are angry, as we finished 2nd in the Championship last season. Ayr fans being raging isn't instantly something for Falkirk (or Arbroath last week) fans to somehow take offence to. Didn't even look like Falkirks strongest starting XI

My fear is I can’t see one team in this league finishing below us at the minute, never mind two.
This pretty much - we've played 3 of what I'd imagine will be the rest of the bottom 4 in Arbroath Morton and ICT - lost 2 and had a pretty jammy win in 1. Real danger of being cut adrift assuming we lose the next 3

This team would get relegated from League 1. That's absolutely indefensible that.

Somehow need 2 points from next 32 to at least be better than Brechin were
Seems a massive ask

Randomly make a centre half sub and concede a shambolic goal from a corner. Lovely
We are down. It's not even going to be close

However your reasons for not going today are weak - the train/bus situation is crap but can hardly be blamed on Arbroath FC and going through the turnstiles 30 minutes early isn’t exactly a reason not to travel 150 miles for a “brilliant day out”.
1 - agreed - train and bus situation is absolutely nothing to do with Arbroath and wasn't suggesting it was in the slightest - just seemed a crazy price
2 - weak or not, its just stating the truth. Getting to a certain age where folks finance / family time etc means getting the numbers together for an away game makes it a pretty rare occasion, so you end up picking the one that offers a better experience. The likes of today everyone knows Ayr would end up having enough to open a bit of terracing so why not just have a wee bit set aside.
It's not a criticism of Arbroath as such, just a general point - Ayr do it too when we advertise to away teams there's no ticket sales available at the ground for away fans etc when that's not actually true, makes no sense to me.
Anyway on to the game - score draw I reckon although I'm a bit worried how we would react if we go a goal down

Even though we've made a massive amount of signings (doesn't feel as many as 12) this summer still for me feels like it has been an underwhelming window for some reason, probably cause we don't seem to have addressed some of our glaringly obvious problems from last year...
That's exactly it for me. It's not as if the signings have been all bad - from the squad that played Partick we've replaced O Connor, JML and Ashford (edit - obv forgot Mullin) with Chalmers, Murphy and McGeady. That's an incredible upgrade. Sadly one is already injured. And we still have the same full backs

I thought Young had signed on loan for the full season but probably wrong - there was a lot of movement in small space of time.
Pretty much agree with everything here- Syla is good, Senga is a must keep, and despite his constant misses McKenzie is better than Rose IMO
