It's hard to fathom how three players in the same position can get injured during pre season training.
Perry wanted at least a deal until January but we obviously aren't prepared to pay a wage to someone who probably wouldn't get a look in once those three are fit.
Hopefully at least one of them can get some game time prior to the cup game.
Talks have broken down with Ross Perry. We were looking for short term cover and he wanted a longer deal. It is looking like at least a couple of our centre backs will be missing the start of the season.
He sounds like a similar player in the sense that he's not a traditional winger but Joe Hamill was never a regular starter for a team that was good enough to gain promotion to the premier league.
If we sign Campbell as well I would think that will be our squad finalised. Happy enough with our defence and midfield options but the forwards have plenty to prove.
Just read back through the early part of this thread as well. Gary Glen was being mentioned as a signing target as far back as July 2009. Negotiations have obviously been complex...
I can't remember him even playing against us. I didn't go to either of the league games at Dens though.
At his age I'm not sure he's really what we're looking for though.
People thinking Stewart will be crap seems reasonable enough based on his recent record. It doesn't mean he won't be given a chance to prove that he has something to offer.
Anyway, using the players now signed up we could line up like this:
Cuthbert
Barr, Watson, Hill
Thomson, Moon, Fox, Scott, McKeown
Nade, Elliot
Subs: McGurn, Ellis, Bates, Callachan, Vaughan, Stewart
I get the feeling Murray thinks to himself "I remember him giving me a bit of a run around in 2011. Despite the fact he's done nothing since I'll sign him on the assumption he's just as good now. That way I can save myself the hassle of actually having to think outside the box and scout a player"
I'm sure between them Nade, Stewart and Elliot will be the 20 goal striker we need.
