  1. They are holding one- just confirmed - time for loads of seethe/anti scouse stuff from the Daily Mail/etc
  2. I went to Villa Park to see Aston Villa play Liverpool about 6 months after Hillsbourgh. Went into the Liverppol end, as that was the closest to where a bus dropped us off near the ground. There was a minor crush in the queue to the turnstiles, and I can remember a police officer directing us towards a particular gate. I can remember a Liverpool fan saying"I'm not going in there", and the police officer ordering him to get a move on without any sympathy towards the guy. The police really did treat football fans like shit in those days,
  3. To be honest I think that they initially thought that they'd be able to slip them back into the SPL. If it wasn't for those meddling SPL season ticket holders.
  4. I'm no financial expert, but I think there was never a case in Div 1, where projected income has reduced by such a large amount over the period of a few months.
  5. There was a show of hands at the end. SPL/SFL1/SFL3 were the three options. I'd reckon 5% 70% 25% was the voting share.
  6. The majority players have relegation clauses in their contracts. They don't have "Rangers go out of business" clauses.
  7. 1. Say what you like, but we got outbid by Kilmarnock and St Johnstone for two of our players, once it became clear what was happening. I didn't hear too many predictions saying Rangers would not be in the SPL next year when we signed Jim Goodwin. 2. To stand up and talk to the fans for an hour and a half in the current circumstances gains him my respect. 3. Given where we are now, compared to where we were when he took over, makes you wonder where we'd be if our chairman was "very bright"
  8. 1. We didn't budget for 2nd bottom last season, and by outbidding Hibs for Jim Goodwin(before feb 14th), etc, we weren't planning on 2nd bottom next season. You might not believe it given our performance against Ayr last year, but we played some pretty good football! 2. Maybe if a 16 team top division had been in place, we might not have had to suffer the shit-fest Gus ball years. 3. Maybe with a 16 team top league, then a whole raft of teams could be looking at getting in there - even your team. As I said, I voted for Div 3, but I can understand why the majority voted Div 1.
  9. Basically we're unable to downsize quickly enough - if we'd known this was going to happen, we wouldn't have signed up the high earning players on contracts for next season. Even if in the unlikely event that sevco don't get promoted for next year, we'll not risk being over extended. Sponsors have been polled by Cockwombles staff, and there were best case / worst case figures given for SPL SFL1, and SFL3. SFL3 was considerably worse than SFL1. Sky won't walk away, but will renegotiate terms.
  10. Stuart Gilmour said tonight that the best option for St Mirren would be: 1. Sevco go to the first division next season. 2. SPL expands to 14 next year - 3 up, one down. 3. SPL expands to 16 year after - 3 up one down. Basically St Mirren would not vote for current proposals if in e.g. Falkirk's position, but SFL clubs position could change with the above proposals on the table. He was also quite scathing of Doncaster{in general) and Regan ( for going on 2 week holiday at this time). I still voted for the div 3 option, although felt a bit Swedish while doing so.
  11. Ok, so anyone on here want to own up to being the person who voted "Both" in the "Who do you trust Brown or Green? " poll
  12. The producers of only an excuse could save a fortune by showing the original,"bomber videos" uncut. Funnier than the last half dozen episodes combined.
  13. I'm not a St Mirren season ticket holder due to the fact that I can't get along to enough games per season due to other commitments. However, if Stewart Gilmour was to come out with a statement on a par with Romanov's, then I'd be buying a season ticket right now. Well done Vlad!!!!
  14. Totally agree - you'll note that there's been no gloating St Mirren fans on this page......
  15. So did they outlast Mubarak? Which was clinically dead first Edited to say 606 caller interrupted for 5 live to break the news- both the caller and Alan Green think its a tragedy. Probably a similar 5 second reaction will greet the final announcement ( when Mubarak goes )
  16. If anyone reading this from rangers media is in the "division 3 for me" camp, I'd have a good look at the thread on the div 3 forum. There's a poll on there where 10.97% is on favour of you having the opportunity to spread your wealth, "love" or whatever else it is you spread down there. Well done
  17. You do know that you've still got time to visit 10000 hours, to support your local team....
  18. I overheard a conversation in a pub in Bridge of Weir the other night that there would be no company cars next year
  19. Surely Ally walking away will give the high earners the perfect excuse to do the same ........
  20. If you type rangersmeda into google, and go to the site, you get a big warning: Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer! Probably more harmful to yer brain, but just thought I'd mention
  21. BBC reporter who was reporting for BBC Sportscene live for a Dundee Utd vs. Dunfermline game last season. Referred to the team in Black and White being St Mirren. On at least two updates, Consummate professional.
  22. Looking at @alextomo's twitter feed just now, it looks like popping up to Ibrox / Parkhead on his own sounds like it might have been a piece of pish, compared to his current situation
