    absolutely not.

There is no conclusive evidence of any significant contact. Man City player plays the ball an his boot brushes the liverpool player's shirt.

Horrendous play acting too. staying down for a minute

If you dive 2 or 3 times looking for a penalty don't be surprised if the ref isn't going to look favourably on you when you go down again.

Should be irrelevant when you have VAR though.

Maybe he thought he did well enough last year to get a move and he's just not been in the right frame of mind all season.  He's regressed back to the poor goalkeeper that arrived so it's really no loss.  If it was last season it certainly would have been.

IMO Clarke makes the same saves and mistakes and we have him for the season.

I think this is pretty much the crux of it - both seem to pull off outstanding saves and make basic errors every so often. As long as Clarke doesn’t make them every game!

Other than that, Albinson is better coming from his line (not that he is great at it, but Clarke seems poor at it) while Clarke is better with his feet.

Aye.  Won't play again was actually the quote which is clearly not true as he played for reserves midweek and is obviously gonna come on if Clarke gets sent off etc

Plus, even if he doesn’t want to stay - he is here for as long as the current starting keeper so no idea how that’s even relevant to anything!

Re: Charlie - sounds like he was unhappy at being told at the last minute he wasn't playing at Ibrox after being in the original lineup and bringing family and pals up to watch.  Was then offered a new deal and said no and has now been told he won't start again and is now looking for a new club back in England.

I can understand why he would be frustrated if that was how things unfolded tbh.

I would find it quite bizarre if he has been told he won’t start again though, given he is our only back up goalkeeper right now.

Me either but I think at a push he tries Tomlinson and Murphy as wing backs.

That sounds utterly horrific, hopefully not!

I feel like I’m being incredibly harsh on the young guys, but I really don’t see much in Tomlinson. He can run in a straight line if there is space in front of him, but anything outwith that is pretty horrendous.

I didn’t see the Airdrie game though, so I don’t know if he offered a little more going forward there.

I think we’ll see a 3/5 at the back tbh. Going by Browns comments I think McGinty will be dropped.

I just can’t see how we have the players to play that tbh.

I don’t think he’ll drop McGinty, ultimately Sanders has made individual errors too and we looked far more solid with Stanger next to McGinty.

It's good form, lovely wee stat for Hearts fans and Scottish Premiership viewers to point to and say get him in. The biggest problem for me has always been that he plays at Hearts, without meaning any disrespect. Goal scoring form is a poor metric for a player's value to a team anyway, but playing in Scotland where the league goes from League 1 level (Livingston, Dundee) to Europa League level (Rangers, Celtic) makes it tough to compare Shankland to his competition.

I would be concerned if he started against Germany at the moment. If he is going to play a part at the Euro's then I'd like him to start against The Netherlands to basically test his capabilities. I don't think that'll happen, I think he'll be a backup until he gets a chance.

I’m not sure goal scoring form is a poor metric of your value to a team, particularly when you are scoring at that rate but obviously there is far more to being a striker (particularly a Scotland one) than that.

I agree with everything else you say though, I think he needs to start against Netherlands to see what his style of all round play does against a team of that standard.

Good point. It's probably wrong to think of Tierney as first change at left back - much rather see him at LCB with Taylor outside him if Robertson is injured. He's still vital to making that back 3 work for us.

IMO, I would be moving Hickey across and bringing Patterson on before Taylor moved there too.

Not convinced Chalmers has been dropped. He missed one game with an injury and was back on the bench this week. That's fairly standard. If he doesn't start the next game that's when it becomes an issue.

Yeah - he was dropped for Bryden for the Airdrie game so as long as it doesn’t happen again and becomes a pattern - as you say I don’t think the recent games count.

That result today is entirely on Brown.  I'm no reading back but no doubt some brainchild has squared it all at McGinty -  complicit for sho.

I also don't know what he's done to Logan Chalmers but he needs to swallow his pride and let our best player play.  Nobody is paying cash to watch Fraser Bryden chasing his own first touch, a fucking dumpling striker on the wing who hasn't given anything other than endeavour.  Bullenesque pish that needs to die a death immediately.

I do understand he's playing with the hand a bald idiot dealt him but today was totally unacceptable, his attempts to rectify it were equally unacceptable.  Why keep the same shape that just wasn't working, to what benefit was that?  It was clearly part of the issue along with the nonsense tombola of playing out from the back via McGinty.  Cool it works sometimes, what about when they press him and he's melting into a puddle what then?  Just keep doing it anyway, great.

I could not believe my eyes that Chalmers had come on and had been clearly instructed to let Nicholas fucking McCalister overlap him as the prime creator on the right, what in the name of f**k was he doing.  Nicholas fucking McCalister our imbecile right back.  I was and remain seething that this was even thought about never mind put to practice.

That and the fact he'd clearly just given up at half time didn't help, you canny be this 'energetic' manager when all is good but because the game is done in your mind you just don't bother.

Alarm bells today, especially the Bryden fiasco.  Again, he's having to deal with the mess that the BGM built but that's now 4* out of 6 games he's played Bryden at right wing.  Bullen would be getting slaughtered if he had McKenzie on the wing that often so it's definitely fair to bring up.

I think you have probably said what some of us are worried about, but couldn’t say it. Probably slightly harsh in terms of alarm bells, though that would be the case if we persist with that sort of thing.

We have definitely been better in terms of structure etc etc most of the time, but there needs to be scope within that structure to get the best out of one of your best players in Chalmers.

As you say, the Bryden thing is very Bullen and that’s worrying. Obviously to a far lesser extent, as is the Amartey situation. I don’t even think it should be a question of whether you want Bryden, Tomlinson, McGeady or Amartey to come off the bench in attacking midfield and yet he can’t even make the bench.

Paul Smith looks like he has actual technical ability but nothing else. Can’t tackle, can’t press and is too easily shoved about. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have a decent career at an Annan or Stranraer but I think most fans have accepted he won’t be good enough in this league.

Yeah, he might be good enough for this level in time but he needs to drop down. You see in flashes what he can do, but nothing remotely consistent enough.

Forrest, McCowan and Crawford were good enough at 19.

Each of them were miles better than Bryden technically at that age tbh - we didn’t see anything of McCowan at 19 though.

We don’t seem to be bringing through young players that look particularly good technically right now, so far most look very raw and can offer something in terms of energy and driving runs at times but that’s about it.

Musondas entire reason for being in the team today seemed to be too win headers from long balls. That's grim.

Dunfermline just played the ball round the back of both FBs constantly and we made it easy for them.

I've got faith that Brown can turn this around in the long run but I'm not that confident we can stay up. We've got rid of players who weren't good enough and replaced them with other players that aren't good enough.

The number of times today our midfield had a chance to play it forward but stopped, turned back and passed it to McGinty to punt was unreal. Shitebag football.

Surely the reason for Musonda playing is that there wasn’t anyone else able to start?

We did that with Musonda on Tuesday too - Brown so far seems to have us playing different styles - at times we are more direct and at times look to play. I don’t mind that tbh - it was just woeful today and basically every single player was well off it.

Why , he is not good enough

He isn’t good enough right now, but he has shown he can finish. Loaning him out for a year might see him develop the aspects he doesn’t have right now.

It doesn’t matter if he plays wide midfield or up front, he has too many limitations to impact games in an attacking sense at this level.
