It’s only one player that we’ve heard he has an issue with though? And it was someone who was letting the team down. Brown obviously has high standards and wasn’t prepared to wait it out until the summer with Albinson which is fair enough. Clarke hasn’t had a clean sheet yet (something he’s getting a roasting for on Facebook) but he’s made a lot of big saves in games we’ve won and it would’ve been 4 or 5 today without him.
I know - that’s why I said hopefully it’s just a one off. It’s not like Albinson hasn’t been a good professional with us, either as a back up or starter over several years either. There have still been strange team selections on top of that, but we’ll have a better idea next year.
I’m completely fine with Clarke starting over him at the moment.
So far the high standards only seem to apply to certain players tbh, so I’m not buying that too much. We’ll see if Sanders starts again on Friday night.

Can’t remember a player regressing as quickly as Albinson has. Doubted it at first but the fact it coincided with Timmins leaving maybe isn't a coincidence.
Clarke was getting pelters from people standing around me today. I can’t really recall him doing anything wrong since he came in. Certainly not to the level of Albinson when he was chucking them in.
He chucked one in against Dunfermline, but was decent enough today.
I do find it a bit worrying when a new manager comes in and there are issues with players who have played under numerous managers previously without any issues. It could obviously just be a one off though, and hopefully doesn’t become a pattern.

"The Bryden experiment" sounds like some kind of shady CIA thing.
Could be a possible explanation for playing someone with absolutely zero qualities to be a wide player, as a wide player…

You can’t praise Brown for getting a result last week with a makeshift team and then write him off this week when that same team loses. He’s making do with what was left to him and the fact he’s managed to get wins where Bullen wouldn’t have tells me that he at least has some idea of what to do but ultimately needs a summer to be judged.
Absolutely fair to criticise some of his decisions today IMO.
Murphy certainly didn’t look injured in the first half, and there isn’t any justification for continuing the Bryden experiment out wide.
ETA, I obviously wouldn’t be writing him off - that would be lunacy but there are a couple of worrying things.

Think we are in big big trouble.
If we continue to play all our inferior players at once, we will be very lucky to stay up.
I think the side today would struggle hugely in league one.
Logan Chalmers and Jamie Murphy have to be on the park, they are our only capable footballers.

I have some serious concerns about some of these managerial decisions.
I’m checking the team from now on before committing to going, I’m not paying £22 to watch Fraser Bryden attempt to play football. He offers absolutely nothing, so it’s impossible for Amartey to offer less.
- Sanders can’t start another game.
- I don’t know how Syla and McHugh lasted the game, they were horrific. We at least know Paul Smith can pass a ball.
- Murphy subbed off - just f**k off. The answer isn’t having even less capable football players.3 -

And he was probably equally as bad as about eight.
Hilariously pathetic.

McGinty v Dom Thomas would be terrifying.
I want Stanger at centre half to have some pace in there, but he is probably the best option for LB.

Wasn’t at it, but was told it wasn’t Fanbase that they used, was another ticketing company that one of the board members uses for other events, might be wrong though.
When you buy online just now you can download the ticket straight away rather than waiting for the email. If you got to your history and click on the link where it booked it might still be there.
The system is weird, I always used to screenshot my ticket at the order confirmation page and didn’t wait for the email. It no longer gives me that option though, and hasn’t all season.
Still no ticket through so will give the shop a phone!

Please tell me we are getting rid of this shitty ticketing system at the end of the season, payment taken but no confirmation screen and no ticket email.

It's knee jerk to judge Lawrence Shankland on a singe game or any of our strikers for that matter, so this isn't me having a go at him. If any of our other strikers missed that chance then people would have been saying Lawrence Shankland would've scored it.
I think there's a double standard in the sense that when Jacob Brown missed that chance against Norway fans were saying he's had his chance and failed to take his opportunity, but when it's Shankland the discussion is trending toward how effective his hold up and link play was. I think there's a bit of favouritism basically.
I'm not looking to kick off a long debate about this, just wanted to get it off my chest.
I don’t think that’s a fair analysis of the Jacob Brown situation though, that was said about Brown because his all round play was very poor that night too.
I do agree with your general point that we shouldn’t be writing anyone off Brown or anyone based on one game though.
Shankland has been labelled not international class all over twitter this morning too. I think with Brown you would possibly get the pro Shankland people overstating his poor performance, whereas now you have the anti Shankland people pretending Shankland was generally terrible last night. It’s just lots of people blinded by club bias though, which infuriates me.

I didn't like it in game. So that's me settled my opinion on it.
Yeah - it was even worse with the extra yellow the official tops need to have - a true howler.

Ferguson needs a total slap, did nothing but strop and was a wee fanny when he lost the ball. He is not the answer no matter what he is doing in Seria A
f**k me.

I love Shankland, and thought he generally played well tonight and was a good focal point - I suppose being brutally honest you can argue that Adams could have done everything that Shankland did while providing more options down the sides etc.
The argument for Shankland is around chance taking, and despite his miss tonight he is our best finisher. Even the very best miss chances, ultimately.
I guess that’s the issue at international level though, you are judging someone based on one game - and in that game he was up against one of the world’s best defenders.

Souttar was as bad as I've seen a player for Scotland.
Anyway, that was an anti-climax. Scotland were superb for 70 minutes and then a collapse. Shankland didn't look uncomfortable but that was a bad miss. Equally there were lots of bad displays up front - McTominay and McGinn too. Angus Gunn looked too ponderous when he finally had some pressure on him.
Overall, lots of positives. The Dutch are a horrible side though - full of play-acting cheats and divers. Hope they get horsed in the Euros.
McTominay didn’t remotely play badly tbh.

We were badly found out against England, France and now Netherlands.
The elite teams take their chances, the average teams don't.
Is anybody really that surprised?
I would hardly say we were badly found out tonight, quite the opposite tbh.
The game got away from us after the 84th minute, after all the subs.

I don’t mind our only keeper not throwing himself against a post in a friendly match tbh.

Good first half, thought Gilmour in particular was excellent.
I would be trying to let Patterson play through it over these games tbh - Dyche has ruined what he was good at attacking wise. He just needs to rediscover that a bit.

In terms of the adult population, two out of fifteen is far too high a number for me - unfortunately, it can only lead me to reconsidering my Patreon membership.
On the other hand, would I rather listen to a grown adult talk about wrestling or Kevin Kyle talk about anything…

I went to uni, enjoy a Simpsons meme but I’m definitely not into the wrestling.
I tend to drive lots for work, so I listen to both Open Goal and The Terrace. Open Goal doesn’t just cover the Old Firm tbf, there is always a decent amount on the other teams and the championship too - depending on what is happening.
Within that, there are plenty of cringe moments - Ferry can add value at times but only when he is not acting like he is twelve years old. Kevin Kyle is a monumental moron, with Paul Slane marginally better. Halliday and McFadden are generally good to listen to and Ferguson is too when he isn’t drawn in with the Slane nonsense.
You do also occasionally get different guests on, which can sometimes be interesting.
If it’s found that the entire VFTT cast are into wrestling, they should be immediately taken off the air IMO.

If there isn’t a screenshot option, are we relying on the absolutely horrific phone signal you tend to get at Hampden…
Hopefully it can be accessed offline.

McGinley in before McGinty ?
I mean none of us have any idea how good he is, but it would be a pretty pointless signing if he is behind both Musonda and another centre half to come in to play his actual position. He would have to be unbelievably shite for that to be the case!

McTominay was huge in that game - a hand in every single goal.

I don’t think anyone can question that Chalmers doesn’t run about a lot but he hasn’t got a defensive thought in his head when we don’t have the ball. Thats almost as bad when you expect everyone to be defending from the front. I like Chalmers, I think he’s a good player but I wouldn’t be spunking a load of money on him for next season as I think over the course of a season he doesn’t do enough.
If you look at the players you would classify as the best attacking midfielders in the league:
Thomas: 8 goals, 6 assists - 29 played.
Easton: 7 goals, 3 assists - 29 played.
Fitzpatrick: 6 goals, 4 assists - 27 played.
Middleton: 3 goals, 11 assists- 29 played.
Lawless: 4 goals, 8 assists - 29 played.
Logan Chalmers: seven goals, four assists with only 21 played.
He does as much, if not more numbers wise than every player who is considered to be the best in the league.
Yeah, he needs to produce more consistently but I would be doing everything we can to keep him. We certainly won’t be upgrading on him, that’s for sure! Any decent manager should be getting a good amount out of someone with his ability.
I have absolutely no interest anymore in watching a football team with runners out wide, as opposed to those who are actually enjoyable to watch. Fair enough this season as we just need to stay up, but it’s not something I want to see very often next season.

The lack of updates in terms of the injuries is a disgrace at this point tbh.
We have two guys with potentially season ending injuries, a new signing who disappeared today when we needed him and then Dempsey and Chalmers randomly disappearing too - not a word about any of it.
Just put out an update FFS.
And Callum, ask him if Murphy was injured!
