  1. Well it's like Roy Keane admitted recently when asked about his decision to sell Jordan Rhodes for peanuts: "We made the mistake of focusing on what he couldn't do instead of capitalising on what he could do." And, of course, Robertson's young enough to improve on his weaknesses anyway.
  2. Man U would be a strange one as they've only recently shelled out £25-30m for Luke Shaw. Though it seems Van Gaal has his doubts about Shaw, so maybe...
  3. Physically he's nothing like bale though and i don't just mean he doesn't look like a monkey.
  4. And he has one and goes 'Nah, don't like these' ... pushing his luck a wee bit
  5. Agree re the typical striker these days, but our guys just aren't producing the goals like those all-round forwards from other national teams. Could be worse though, we could be Wales, who really don't have a striker of any repute to call upon.
  6. This thread has descended into a swamp of fetid ball-sweat.
  7. Totally agree. Hopefully that's just the final piece of Strachan's jigsaw. He seems to be having no luck in finding a regular goalscorer though - not necessarily a great player, just a guy who will bag us roughly 1 in 2 . Steven Fletcher is a gifted player, but he's not going to be a regular source of goals for us. Naismith will chip in maybe 1 in 5 games, but his main contribution is in disrupting the defence rather than applying the finishing touch. Martin looks like a square peg in a round hole from what I've seen. McCormack, Rhodes, Griffiths are drifting out of the international reckoning. Here's hoping Stevie May might be the right fit for us up front.
  8. Hanley saved us on a fair few occasions too. Wgs knows hes not the finished article yet, but at 22, he will get better and has years ahead of him. I'd much rather we stuck with him than chopped and changed, throwing a few caps to 30 year old journeymen defenders.
  9. Let's not forget Hanley made a fair few clinical interceptions and blocks too. Clean sheet + win. Hanley and martin continue to impress overall
  10. Attack minded but held on to possession brilliantly too. Star in the making
  11. Wrong on all counts. 1 chance, an absolute sitter, missed.Apart from that, I hardly saw him near the ball, let alone on it apart from one decent hold up.
  12. Its like ronaldo, neymar and messi had a man sandwich...and Robertson was the result
  13. Hope we get past this 'he's only worth the risk if we are playing at home' pap. The boy ran the show on the left tonight. The place should be nailed on as his from now on.
  14. Neill McCann looks well chuffed. Bet he got his Nat king off the sky sports burd from the Poland game.
  15. Yup, he's been bang average since stepping off the Celtic gravy train
  16. Means we can sit back and enjoy the england game now
  17. Excellent result Superb interplay all over the park. Robertson can play at any level he wants to. Only problem are a for us is our 'strikers'. The two guys who had a go up there tonight seemed lost. Chris martin was awful.
