  1. If morton are in the relegation play offs and have a wait they can play friendlies with a c Milan or Barcelona (I hear they are short of cash). Failing that they can go on a training camp to the gulf states. That might help their players get used to conditions for the next world cup

  2. When covid goes get all the remaining teams in Hamden on one day. Whole tournament played in 1 day. Every fixture in every round is decided by penalty shoot out only. If it’s equal after 5 penalties each the tie break procedure is 2 v 2 head tennis - first to 1

  3. The biggest thing on the Scottish governments plate at the moment seems to be the genitalia of one of our former first ministers (nice image that) and the recently alleged overuse of them. Seems keen to do to the nation what he was found not to have done to a dozen or so individuals.. if our league had to be shut down because of the pandemic so be it but the premier league and championship should have been shut down as well. Decisions (by whichever organisations were responsible) should not have been made in an arbitrary fashion and communication with clubs should have been better. Government extremely busy, football authorities not. Disappointing but not surprising. Election coming, opportunity for a political two footed challenge

  4. Is it likely that league 1 and 2 clubs will be asked to vote to scrub the season if there is no resolution soon?

will they have to vote to release shares of prize money or because of other financial incentives?

Otherwise it would stick in the throat to have others turn round and say “well, you did vote to end the season”.

Without good reasons should the position not be - we want to finish the season, we didn’t shut the league down, it’s up to you (SPFL, with or without government input) to sort it out? That way our leagues may be scrubbed but nobody could say we were keen to scrub them

Are you honestly trying to say that footballers 24/7 are to isolate themselves from society?  They can’t even go to the local supermarket for their shopping?  Do you really think that’s what the bubble is?  Thankfully no authorities, football or governmental, agree with you.

The argument, if you are capable of following it, is that football players are being asked to what everybody else is doing ie not attend house parties. What have supermarkets got to do with it?

The only bubble here is inside your head

  6. Football training and playing matches represents closer contact and greater mobility than is allowed for others  in society, other than people working in essential jobs. Football is obviously far from essential. An exception was made for the sake of entertainment, on the explicit basis that football players would behave appropriately. That did not represent a higher level of restraint, so they were not being asked to make any sacrifice whatsoever. They are only being asked to do what everybody else is doing. They have repeatedly shown themselves to be unable to do this.

The subject of covid testing is of lesser importance. Minimising risk lowers transmission more than testing does. Close to no spread versus letting spread happen the trying to put the cat back in the bag.

  7. In that case no exemption for football - should have been fully shut down at Xmas or whenever it happened for lower league teams. Exemption works 2 ways. Allowed to keep going on understanding high standard of compliance was maintained. By your argument lower league players would be free to do what they wanted outside football and would still be playing

  8. On other parts of p and b there is debate around championship clubs not wanting promotion from league 1 if that league only play

each other twice (1H, 1A). Can we take it that san starko rover disagrees (given his support for LL/HL promotion this time round)?

mind you Raith are at the right end of their table
