That’s 2 contracted players walked away and nothing to show for it. Makes me wonder
Tapping - there was a clause - if he would only come with a clause and we wanted him and the clause was relating to time between seasons, fair enough (I’m curious what the clause was).
Hopkirk - if he’s retiring and we don’t see him been essential, fair enough. Should/could we hold on to the registration of players in these circumstances. They stop playing, we stop paying wages but make one of payment of £10 to make holding registration a legal contract. Do we think he will play elsewhere next season? In league 2, against us, scoring 3 or 4 goals against us across 4 games? If he doesn’t play these queries are academic but if he does are we saying 2 year contracts (not all that common for us historically) are meaningless? or saying we are just small time?

He hardly kicked a ball last season. I was wondering if he had an significant injury or his heart wasn’t in it as much. Very good for us the season before - much needed goals.
is he retiring then? Fair enough if he is. Hope he doesn’t walk away from us then run out the Ochilview tunnel in a Stirling Albion shirt in a couple months time.

Wonder what the clause was? Obviously not offer from team in higher league or full time club. Surely not higher wage or warriors failure to appear in play offs or change of manager? I’d be curious to know. Sorry to lose him. Signing his brother and passage of time from midnight empress’s rumour was raising hopes that it wasn’t true.
Makes me wonder what the point of a contract is but maybe we have to include clauses or we couldn’t sign certain players.
If we do have to let him go a few bob would have been good. FF mentions investing his wage - I hope our current signing weren’t made factoring in tapping’s wage and we can still use it.

451/433, relies on attacking full backs and wingers that can contribute on the goal scoring front as well. Generally good quality/entertaining watch!
Cheers. Good luck next season

Yep we do seem to need another central defender. Any news on Crichton?
None of the fullbacks seem to have had good reviews. Most of the others, if they don’t get universal plaudits, they get some good reviews
Wonder what formation we will start out using?

With swift moving to stenhousemuir can somebody say which formation he favours?

Also shire connections?
children use them at the beach? (I don’t mean donkeys, although..........)?

What do we think of the midnight express scare story about Callum tapping leaving? Mischief making?
Hoping we will be giving opponents a double tapp next season

Cheers. Hope it bears fruit. I think Hibs have developed several players in recent years so reasons for optimism

This strategic partnership with hibs - does anybody know anything about the nuts and bolts?
is there a minimum or maximum number we take on loan each season?
expectation we go to them first if need arises (we did have at least one from other club last season)?
expectations about playing time? (that young winger/wide midfielder didn't play much at all but others got 4 games a week !)
I'm thinking if its a very loose arrangement then its not really worth the name. What substance is there to it? anybody know?

Your team could be perfectly solid for 10, 12, 14 years then one bad season and boom, vaporised! Another team could be the next east Stirlingshire - bottom 3 or 4 times in the same period and stay up by the skin of their teeth.
Impossible to argue objectively against the pyramid but selfishly it’s not much fun playing with a trap door lying in wait. No team in the lower leagues is safe

Was Grigor in that group as well or has he moved on?

we appear to be bringing in the BSC Glasgow squad en masse.
Shades of McVeigh bringing the whole Albion rovers team with him when took over at Ochilview. Worked well for first season.
Without bringing a whole team I think it’s quite common for new managers to bring in a few players well known to them and things go well initially. Bit harder to find brand new players in subsequent years. Not that the phrase “subsequent years” always applies these days. Hope its different this time

Yeah, I mean what does it really say about a club’s view of a player? “We don’t think you are good enough to sign”, surely.
I’m guessing most self respecting players would look for a club willing to sign them.
Turning up for training a bit embarrassing? Risk of training then not being signed and not much time left to find another club?

What does this “invited for preseason” thing really mean?
I’m thinking players want a club to sign them and the preseason offer is a booby prize. Do any turn up for training? Have any been signed and played the following season?

Squad assessed and nobody wanted or premeditated decision to wield a machete?
bold or foolhardy? Mmmh. Time will tell

Lowland league banging on about playoffs and maintaining integrity of pyramid system for past 2 years then they let old firm colts waltz into their league
The sickening stench of hypocrisy

Given that your football club contrived to win the grand total of zero out of fucking 36 league games the last time you washed up in the same division as The Famous, I'd say that superiority is more than merited.
Isn’t it sad when somebody lives their life through their football team
thats why so many support the old firm
but ... morton? morton?

Just general dressing room scuttlebutt with regards to training and game time which happens in every dressing room, some players happy and others less so.
As you say academic now and hopefully better days ahead.
cheers, fingers crossed

I think it was said by somebody else a while back, our return on multi year contracts is not great. Frustrating but may just be the way of things in lower leagues
