  1. Shout out to wee JoJo tonight btw. Dunno much about her opponent but she's on the early prelims. She could really use a big statement win in what appears to be her natural weight class.
  2. Good analogy. I just said I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same for Khabib. He's never really been hurt/put in danger. The Tibau fight was his toughest and most places scored it for Tibau but it was just 15 minutes of Khabib trying and failing to take him down. He's never been rocked... Before Nate cracked him with that 1-2 in the first fight nobody would have said Conor had quit in him but it's definitely there. Khabib dominates and has never had to really dig deep, much his like challenger for the belt. This is why I think Tony is the best. Could see him absolutely taking over in the later rounds in a fight against either of the other two tbh.
  3. Not trying to be a keyboard doctor but I've gotta think his knee can't be 100% right? I'm sure he's got good people around him and it feels fine but Pettis is gonna be hunting that knee from the get go. Ferguson is also one of my favourites. I actually think he's the best LW in the world. He's a much more complete fighter than Conor and Khabib and he's got no quit in him at all. We've seen Conor fold when the going gets tough and I wouldn't be surprised if Khabib was the same. At 34 and with the injuries I question how much longer at the top he's got. Far from writing him off and he's a cardio machine but time waits for no man.
  4. Aye I agree. Don't get me wrong, it was obviously a bit of a dick move... But it was just pure, unadulterated, honest passion and tbh part of why I love this sport so much. I've always felt TJ and Cody is 50/50. The first time TJ was 6/4 or something and I saw value in that and won money. This time Cody is the underdog, so I see value in that and have bet him. Terrible card in fairness. Gonna have a couple of drinks and build a joint and basically wait on the last 3 fights. Speaking of which, anyone fancy Cub? Moicano seems like the real deal eh?
  5. That is the finest body shot I've ever seen. He's a featherweight. That looked like it hurt more than a left hook from Daniel Cormier. Perfect technique. And after being rocked as well. So impressed with Aldo there. And happy for the dude as well. He was always a sound guy and then when the McGregor rivalry came around people started shitting on him. Then to get destroyed by Max twice and do that? Great stuff.
  6. The lad from the current Dagestani/Russian crop that intrigues me the most is Zabit Magumedsharipov (sp?). He's got a totally different style but seems to be equally as fucking effective with it.
  7. Lot of good fighters coming from that side of the world of late.
  8. Thought I was onto a winner with the early card cause I'm knackered but I just saw the main card is on from 1-4?! 3 hours for 4 fights? Surely even with the padding out they do it'll be a 3am finish eh? Tonight I have - Antigulov Joanna Contender by decision Stephens by stoppage Alvarez by stoppage. Pays like 30/1 on 365, which is quite a reasonable price for something that's definitely, definitely going to happen.
  9. This photo always blows my mind.
  10. Blaydes making the top of the division a bit more interesting! Despite losing the bet, I'm actually okay with that. I thought he just beat an over the hill Mark Hunt, and maybe he beat an over the hill Overeem too, but those two over the hill guys are high up in the division and he dominated both. Only Ngannou (fighting Lewis) Overeem (Just dieded) and Miocic (cormier) ahead of him in the rankings. 27 years old Rogan just said. Blaydes might be the absolute real deal.
  11. Cracking shout fae me as usual.
  12. Overeem my first bet of the night. Blaydes showed a hell of a chin against Hunt but I don't see Overeem knocking him out. A classic Jackson/Winklejohn smart performance and a decision win I reckon. (Just putting this out there so I look a tit when he gets sparked out in 2min.)
  13. Fucking love a good caird. For all my greetin' about fights falling through, this entire card was 0.2lbs away from being entirely untouched. And Romero and Whittaker are still throwing down anyway. Can't complain. Can see Romero getting the knockout because Bobby Knuckles seems like a really good guy and did everything right and life's a c**t like that. He then hands the belt to Romero despite it not being 'official' and they shake hands and agree to a third one. Banker.
  14. It's hard to get excited for big events anymore. I used to enjoy a good month or two of build up and looking forward to a huge fight but time and time again they fall through. There's nothing like looking forward to a fight for ages and when they're just about to start and the ref says go. My house could be burning down at that point and i'd be none the wiser. It's literally a case of us not knowing what the card is until about 24 hours before the event now. Don't even know what to look forward to.
  15. Aye it's not even up for debate really. He was a perennial top contender... almost the archetype 'gatekeeper'. Won TUF. Beat Anderson. Won the belt... he basically overachieved for his skillset. And that's not to say that he's not skilled, it's just that he was a step below the proper elite... yet still achieved all that he did through his mindset. Also a bunch of the guys that beat him are proven drug cheaters. The guy was a bit of a c**t, but all in all you gotta say fair fucking play really.
  16. Never mourned a 'celebrity' death in my life and I dunno if mourn is too strong a word but f**k me that's pretty gutting.
  17. Never seen anything like that 'finish' there. Crazy. Not sure how I feel about it but I had Simon in my coupon so it's worked out alright for me.
  18. Suppose. But he's had 3 fights in the UFC and they've all been Fight of the Year contenders so he's an absolute legend to me. f**k yer 'sit on yer arse Gaethje' patter.
  19. Had no idea it was that bad. Still fucking love the c**t though.
  20. Can't fucking wait for this main event. Asked a mate earlier what the last big quality fight was that didn't have someone pull out beforehand that was as good as this and I honestly can't remember? It's definitely been a while since I've looked forward to a fight as much as this one. Love Gaethje as an underdog here. They're both game as f**k but I feel like Poirier is susceptible to being drawn into Justin's fight and whilst I feel it will be close I reckon Gaethje will get the job done.
  21. Holloway fast becoming my favourite fighter.
  22. Tony Ferguson is the most overpriced bet I've seen since Rose Namajunas against Joanna the first time. Do not fucking sleep on Tony Ferguson. 2/1 is absolutely huge for him.
