Anyway... sitting on -3pts means Vale need a result somewhere to avoid equalling Eyemouth's unenviable -3pts record from 2018-19... I think they'll get that result.

First Division record low is -1pt by (guess who) Eyemouth in 2004-05... so Vale need 1 win to avoid that.

And they may well get that result against an inconsistent Whitehill on Tuesday night. Nae pressure like. :unsure2:

I'd rather watch a game at Victoria Park where there is a real atmosphere than that excuse for a ground at Meadowbank.

It would have been easy for the SpeeFL to let the games go ahead then if Buckie won give them the guidance to get their

ground up to scratch before the season started. When I compare Bonnyrigg's ground with Buckie's, I wonder what the

    criteria is.

K Park hardly stands out as a ground as well.

I'd say it's only slightly better than Meadowbank.

Both refused, so I guess they didn't tick all the boxes.

As much as I don't like B teams especially playing in the Lowland League I'm surprised this didn't go through..

They'd have been starting at the very bottom of the pyramid.

The EoSFL committee must have their reasons (anybody know) as far as I know they've never refused B teams before.

"Buckie Thistle Football Club would like to issue the following addition to last night's statement on the SPFL Pyramid Play-offs:

"The club is endeavouring to get to the bottom of the decision to remove us from this weekend's play-off semi final against East Kilbride FC."

"Club officials attended meetings and had discussions with both the SPFL and SFA on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but no indication was given at any point that Saturday's fixture was in doubt."

"Attached is a screenshot from the Decision Note issued by the SFA, which clearly states a decision on the Bronze Licence is deferred until the 15th of May. Buckie Thistle were awarded derogations on 3 of the items mentioned, and given until 15th May to resolve the Medical items."

"After further discussions with the SFA this morning, we are now looking into the possibility of taking this to Arbitration, as per Article 99 of the SFA handbook."

"Further updates will be provided in due course."

It’s nice to be nice but this is too much, the club has been relegated. It’s isn’t ok - boys are gutted, don’t enjoy losing and getting no help. Sean, Roddy and Murdo never had a chance. Neither did the previous coaches. The players never had a chance. Promises made this season not seen through. Nobody asking why? If good cakes are all we’re known for, then clearly there’s a problem.

You're quite right its not nice to be relegated but as the voice pointed out you were punching above your weight for a while.

You are also known for having a cracking wee set up at Peffermill!

At least let us know what your gibbering about regarding promises?

What's your expectations then for next season. The EoS Premier league is also a tough league.

It'll be a struggle for you next season as well.

They've been going to move for as long as I remember.

More concerned about South Shields yo yo performances meaning the missed the play offs.

Aye that was a sore one. Blyth doon tae. Not a good couple days for the North East.

  7. Gateshead denied a shot at gaining league status by their own council . Couldn't make it up.Not the best of stadiums but their small band of fans have worked wonders getting them back to where they are. The council sold the leisure centre not long ago and can't give a 10 year lease to the football club. Could the stadium end up being sold?

NB  would delete this post immediately, you don't want to open up that particular pandora's box, once the westies have you in their sights it's all over. Insanity is the only option open to one at that point. 😉😉😉

It wasn't meant as a dig at the West clubs. Was more meant clubs don't have resourcing to get licensed.

Add Hawick and Preston to that. Not a single relegated side from the east is even in the EoS Premier.

Also telling that Threave went down, were largely a top two side in the South, but can’t get out of West Division 3

I could be wrong but im sure WW Vale and Threave all had to source their own funding just to keep a license. Its difficult getting a players budget with that going on in the background so no real surprise they've been struggling.

Maybe one of the reasons so few West teams are licensed. :whistle

Regarding relegation from the Lowland this season

So Buckie play East Kilbride in the Highland/Lowland play off and the winners play Clyde to see who goes to SPFL2 or highland or Lowland leagues.

Am I correct in thinking that if Buckie defeat East Kilbride and then go onto defeat Clyde this will means that both East Kilbride and Clyde will be in the Lowland League 24/25 season but as it means an extra team is joining the Lowland, this will mean that Gretna as the second bottom team will also be relegated along with Edinburgh Uni.   Is this correct?

    Yes you are correct.

Out of the three presumed tier 6 winners (Beith, Broxburn and Dalbeattie), only two can enter the playoff (I think) and for once the South team might not get trounced.

Edinburgh Uni are gone never to return.

Very very slowly the LL is being divested of the diddy outfits.

This is where the pyramid flaws.

Teams like Dalbeattie and Gretna get to play in a far inferior league giving them a much stronger chance of winning it and a two legged play off against the East or West champs for a straight return to the LL whereas your "diddy outfits" of Whitehill Vale of Leithen and Ed Uni play against former strong junior clubs. It's always going to be difficult for the relegated East Region LL side.

It is what it is though and I can't see promotion/relegation changing anytime soon.

Replays are to be scrapped from the first round onwards from next season - FA Cup replays to be scrapped from the first round onwards in 2024-25

Something that has been on the cards for what feels like a long time now. I personally won't miss them.

The clubs will though, a bit of revenue at the lower end of the scale lost. The Premiership clubs are just bullies after all its a FA competition and nothing to do wi the Premier League. A joke of a decision.

Could be wrong but only two teams currently in the HL who would be serious about promotion Brechin and Banks o Dee

What makes you sure Fraserburgh won't be serious about promotion?

Not bad going for a fanbase of a couple of hundred regulars.

Ross County pumped Rangers today wi a tiny fraction of fans of what Rangers get.

Football is won on the park no the terraces, good luck to E.K they've proved they have been the best side this season.

Rather see them win it than the 'B' teams so it's a girfuy to them. 💪

    Train in kilwinning

    Thank you.

That's still a good bit travel away from Stair Park.

Plenty non league sides in Kilwinning area.

Berwick were similar I think when they went down.

Couldn't attract players due to the rise of Bonnyrigg Edin City Spartans et al.

I've sort of made peace with us going down after today, feels inevitable and maybe the Lowland League will be an interesting change - minus the B Team shambles - and a chance to reset.

Our relegation feels inevitable at some point (probably this year) so why not pull out the stops to postpone it for another year at least.

    Come on Stranraer.

The LL would be a disaster for Stranraer.

The whole player structure would change.

Do you still train away from the area?

Players are not going to travel for non league football when they can get it on their doorstep?

Best of luck in your quest to stay up.
