Good win there on a tough day.

Although Nitten have played a few games more than the teams around them, they've got the points in the bag. With the recent postponements and the weather not even been that bad yet, I'd rather have the points than games in hand. Suspensions, injuries, playing 2-3 games per week, playing each other......it's gonna be a grand finale.

Nitten will need to up their game if they want promotion.

WW more than matched them on the park for long periods last Saturday. A couple of breaks mightve seen a different scoreline but sometimes when yer near the bottom luck is against you.

St Andrews scraped past WW wi a penalty the previous game.

    Small margins and aw that.

LNER are the best service in my limited experience of east coast travel. Cross Country isn't bad if it's quiet but there's nowhere near table spaces so it's cattle car when full.

You very much get what you pay for with Lumo - if it's comfortably the cheapest option then it's fine for a reasonable distance, but it's  a cattle car.

Unless you went 1st thing in the morning with LNER from Leeds then you would need to change trains at York.

Lumo also only run King's Cross to Edinburgh.

Cross country are every hour direct, like you state decent if quiet, that's why I recommend checking whether it's a single train or two joined together. That is a game changer.

Trans Pennine may well have a service direct from Leeds but would be very few if any. Otherwise again a change at York is required.

What has that got to do with the current football club?

    Clue - nothing.

Is it a totally different Edinburgh City to the one that got promoted out the LL like?

That's nothing to do with the football club. The Edinburgh City Social Club and the football club are 2 completely different entities. The whole FC Edinburgh debacle cast a light on that.

Shame was a decent club and done the hospitality after matches so would've thought was associated wi the club.

On a separate note their stovies were braw :chef

At least we won't be playing old pals Whitehill Welfare in the league for a couple of seasons at least. There's always a ray of sunshine..

Ha back to "we" supporting City again are we ?

Sad to see the club in such a state after the small band of committee and fans got you up from the lower leagues.

I hope there are better days ahead.

That’s the social club of the original football club from the 1920’s and 30’s. They gave the current club permission to become Edinburgh City but there’s no further connection than that.

What happened to the Baxter's Place Edinburgh City club money when it was sold?

A tough draw for SJFC but content with it as it’s a new ground to tick off.  I missed out on The Excelsior that time our final match of the our First Division winning season was postponed late due to a waterlogged pitch.

Stand out tie for me is Spartans Hearts. Will Spartans ask Hibs to hold it at ER like Bonnyrigg moved their cup game vs Hibs to Tynecastle years ago?

Celtic Buckie is a laugh, just typical. Superb trip for Buckie fans though. Be interesting to see how many away fans make the long trip down.

Struggling to get excited over any of the other ties.

Spartans are an SPFL side nowadays, has there ever been an SPFL side allowed to move ground? and I'm sure Bonnyrigg Hibs was the last ever tie that was allowed to be moved.

The answer to your question was in the bit of the post you deleted.

So you reckon a 16 team league wi 3 up 3 doon would stop meaningless games. I very much doubt that. You'd still have mid table obscurity from around November December onwards.

Better wi a play off system that gets interest beyond the top/bottom 3.

Worth noting that 4 of the current bottom 8 are ex SPFL clubs though.

Nothings going to change anytime soon.

Back on topic the Rose will get stronger the more experience of the LL they get.

The LL has way too many meaningless games and that hurts the level of fan interest.

    So what's your solution then?

Lowland leagues of 10 or 12 and play each other over and over again.

The SPFL clubs hate that as it is.

Meaningless games all over Scotland not just the LL.
