I forgot we were due money for Gallagher if United got promoted. Is it really six figures?! Financial prudence alive and well at Tannadice.

Don't think there was ever any exact figure mentioned officially, but rumours at the time put the fee at anywhere between £50K and six figures.

Whatever it is, it's a nice wee bonus, which can help towards the cost of a new player or the new surfaces at the stadium and training ground.

Given the recent rumours, it would be lovely if we used some of it as an incentive for Gogic to sign a new contract.

But 4th place gets you at least 4 ties in Europe 5th place only gets a guaranteed two games.

It could be an interesting final 2 games if the gaps only 3 pts come 5pm Saturday.

Your GD is far superior to ours.

Even in the unlikely event of us actually winning on Saturday, our margin of victory is unlikely to put a dent in that.

You're safe in 4th, put your reserves out.;)

It's fucking ridiculous that the ball hitting him is a red card offence.

Penalty yes, red card absolute fucking nonsense.

    And great save keeper

Seems to be the case nowadays sadly.

I remember Richard Taylor getting a red card against the green bigots when the ball was blasted against his arm whilst standing on the line.

A penalty plus a red card is a nonsense.

surely we could be his last decent pay day???

Unfortunately United don't seem to be bothered about overspending and paying exorbitant wages to players.

If it boils down to money, we won't have a look in.

It would be great if Gogic settled for a manager who gets the best out of him in a team with an unrivalled team spirit, plus the possibility of a European football experience. However, that's not the way it works in football.

Goodwin got nowhere near the level of performance out of Gogic as Robinson does, same goes for majority of the players who have played under both tbh. That should be of concern for Dundee Utd fans before they get that excited. Can’t grudge Gogic what could be one last decent pay day. He’s been great this season.

Like most of us, Goodwin thought that Gogic's best position was midfield.

When Robbo decided he was going to be our main CH, I wasn't at all convinced.

    How wrong I was.

Unfortunately, Robbo's far superior managerial skills have pointed the far inferior Goodwin in the right direction.

Think that’s harsh. Majority of messages on yesterday’s match day thread from Dundee fans were very complimentary and rightly so.

It’s banter. Nothing is settled just now in terms of final league placing. We as a club still need to get over the line in terms of European qualification.

Remember this is St Mirren we are talking about - if any team can grasp defeat from the jaws of victory 😂

If we do finish in 5th (or the unlikely 4th spot) let’s just hope the relevant UEFA license is up to date.

It is and has been for a while.

Was reconfirmed a couple of weeks ago.

Aye, there was a Saints flag being waved by the Dee ultras and if I remember correctly, it was nicked from our lads at the last game in Paisley. Could that be the reason for the niggle, as I don’t think we have any historical animosity with Dundee- the Arabs on the other hand….. f**k em😉

The irony being that their roaring and greeting was about a certain Jim Goodwin's tackle on Scott Severin and his magnificent elbow on Stuart Armstrong.

    Oh how the times change.

Almost forgot about how shite they were at taking penalties.

  8. Apart from the obvious clowns amongst both supports, I couldn't understand why there was a wee bit of animosity had that developed between our fans.

At present we're both quite similar in terms of our ambitions, albeit the way our clubs are set up are different.

Unlike another couple of teams (not Hibs) who are currently stinking out the bottom six, we're well aware that we could be down there too, and have no divine right to be in the top six.

Respect to Dundee as they've had a very good season and have a fantastic player in Luke McCowan.

    Carson can get tae though.

Nobody said it should be accepted.

But that doesn’t justify the abuse that was hurled from some quarters.

Despite our league position there are tits in our support that still have a go at Robinson when we have a bad game.

Teams like us and yourselves will be inconsistent. Some of us can accept that, but there are complete roasters in our support that just just don't have a fucking clue.

There are four different decision makers here who are coming up with different interpretations of the incident:

    • On-field referee - Qualified and experienced referee. Has the "feel" of the game but only gets to see it once and may miss incidents or misinterpret them. Can sometimes get a second chance to view it at the screen, but only if the VAR intervenes. Could be influenced by crowd.
    • VAR - Qualified and experienced referee. Gets to watch multiple angles of the incident but may not have the feel of the game.
    • Appeal panel - Ex-players, managers etc. Don't think it includes any who is actually qualified as a referee. Could be influenced by the media clamour around an incident. Decisions not typically viewed in context of the game.
    • IRP - Ex-players, managers etc. "Guided" by someone with experience of the laws, but who knows what that means. Could be influenced by media clamour around an incident. Decisions definitely viewed in context of the game since it could be a couple of months later.

If all of these groups disagree with each other, is a decision really "wrong"?

That must be what happened with all three of ours.

Interesting to see that the amount of errors made by VAR is increasing. Kind of pisses all over those in favour of it that say it will get better with time.

Also seems to make a bit of a mockery of our appeals system. One of the decisions that have been highlighted as being wrong was a red card shown to Sterling against Aberdeen. We actually appealed that and the appeal was thrown out. Now it’s being said that was incorrect.

    Shambles.

Same for us with the Bolton red card v Dundee.

He'd still have been sent off as it was his second yellow card, but he missed an extra match as a result of the red card, which was also appealed and thrown out.

Missed out on two penalties v Ross County and Hearts, which could have led to an extra three points.
