  1. I got it from what I thought was the most up to date rules, that are on the SPFL website. http://spfl.co.uk/docs/067_324__therulesofthescottishprofessionalfootballleagueasat19january2016_1461332495.pdf However, it would appear that it's the challenge cup, I was looking at.
  2. I think we can see that. Shankland is a pretty accomplished striker, who scored some very important, top quality goals for us. Completely different type of player from Hardie.
  3. You can play up to two triallists in the first round (group stages) of the league cup.
  4. There really isn't any way that this result can be defended in any manner. Fucking magnificent.
  5. He wasn't too bad in his first couple of games for us. Quite speedy, but it soon became apparent that he has little or no end product. Went downhill after that and became anonymous during games. Was on the receiving end of a horrible tackle against Falkirk and got injured. Returned v Hibs and broke down again, Missed about 6 games after that, then Murray was binned. Rae wasn't impressed with him when he took over, and to compound matters he failed to follow Rae's instructions, so he was sent back to the green bigots after a couple of games, despite being on a season long loan. We didn't miss him in the slightest.
  6. Cheers. We're looking for a left sided creative midfielder/winger. If ripping Falkirk a new one is his level, then he could do reasonably well in the Championship.
  7. I see you've released Da Vita. Is he left sided/footed, and can he put in a decent cross?
  8. If it's any consolation, Aberdeen took a month to decide whether to loan us Shankland or not. Shankland was desperate to come, but wasn't given permission for what seemed an age. Maybe this is what's happening with Rogers.
  9. Andy Stirling? He was a decent youth player with us, but his father (IIRC) fell out with David Longwell and he went to Stenhousemuir. Only noticed him today as I watched the play off and had no idea where he'd been in recent years.
  10. Think yourselves fortunate, that through our employment of Ian Murray for six horrible months or so, your board will have ruled him out straight away.
  11. Not a very nice thing to happen. Would hope that the player makes a full recovery. However, any Falkirk fans complaining about "hatchet men" must have short memories given the cynical nature and potential for damage of the tackle that their player Grant inflicted on Paul McMullan earlier in the season. That tackle could quite easily have been a leg breaker.
  12. There is that. Although, I believe Falkirk fans aren't too shoddy in that respect also.
  13. He certainly could. It's one of the reasons we don't need to pay Sir Thommo a sizeable wage.Although, according to Sir Thommo, he knocks back more media work than he takes on. However, at present Gallagher is content to learn about the footballing side of things; at St.Mirren.
  14. Lives in the Giffnock area, so that could certainly have been a factor, as well as being able to benefit from Sir Thommo's footballing experience.
  15. That , to me, looks like a worrying statement. Fiddling while Rome burns?
  16. I think you'll find it is.....................................
  17. Nah. If it was, Dundee would have been on the list.
  18. St.Mirren almost played there in the 1980. On their tour to brazil, they were offered a game in the Maracana against a local team. However, they already had a game arranged against Vitoria which was 400 miles up the coast, so had to decline the offer. My father, who was on the tour, said that they did see two games at the Maracana though. One was the final of the league play offs (they had regional leagues in those days) in which Flamenco played. There were 160,000 at the game and the atmosphere was out of this world.Apparently, there was a moat round the pitch and every game one particular nutter would jump in the moat, swim across it and get onto the pitch. w
  19. We had the Paisley Lions speedway meetings at St.Mirren Park for a couple of years in the 70's.
  20. Fantastic result. Enjoy the moment. Ajax, Milan and Barcelona will be shitting themselves at having to go to green bigot park.
  21. There's a good player in there, but his attitude towards training and keeping himself fit, let him down by all accounts. I can't see Adams putting up with that attitude. So, for his sake hopefully he'll realise he's getting a second chance to prove himself. Not against us hopefully. Not good enough to play left back or left wing, but does well on the left of a midfield five. Good dead ball delivery and a cracking shot, on the odd occasion. If you get the Carey we had on his first spell with us, then you'll have a decent player.
