  1. Here's a recently uploaded YouTube clip and a BBC interview. and here he is kicking a boy in the face at the Olympics.
  2. Tbf, see above. Up to the point of that car crash in 2016 he was playing in Ligue 1 and the Premier League.
  3. There's a more in depth interview here from 2017: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/sep/18/pape-souare-crystal-palace-car-crash-interview He's had a time of it has the bold Pape.
  4. I think it was @wellboy1991 who had mentioned that McGinley had been covering left of the 3. Shields seems to be on his way to India so presumably that spot will become vacant as it stands though, this is probably how it looks: As @Jim McLean's Ghost says on the other page though, Souaré could easily be back-up for Wilson. It could just be a turn of phrase but I notice Kettlewell says; “It’s no secret that we need cover in the wide areas, so when the opportunity arose to get Pape on board, we jumped at it.” in the bit of spiel on the announcement story.
  5. Here's the presser. 32 seconds says he's "hopeful" of making one addition into the squad (before the game). Also talks about it later on in the chat saying he's expecting it to be done today and says he'd like to add "one or two" in wide positions and forward positions.
  6. It's not. The boy they announced today is Stav Nahmani who he talks about in the 4th paragraph. The subsequent paragraphs are him talking about a 2nd forward that he's chosen not to name.
  7. Prepared to be proven wrong here but the King Louie (sic) tweet would be a bit of a weird reference if the player (assuming it's Moult) was signing for a club other than Motherwell eh? Anyway...
  8. They've got another "forward player" coming in according to SR. That said Robinson describes him as "a big boy, quick, physical..." tbh, I'm surprised he didn't chuck in "can play anywhere across the front 3" to complete the set.
  9. According to the Tweet the club just put out Wilson and Efford are "doubts".
  10. True. That said, compared to say the line ups we put out in the 19/20 Group which was essentially close to a first XI (eg: Gillespie; Donnelly, Hartley, Dunne; Grimshaw, Semple, Polworth, Carroll; Ilic, Long, Seedorf vs Annan) it feels like a bit of a statement.
  11. Has he though? I know it says he's signed a "fresh deal" in the body of the article but I just took it to be the same contract we'd previously announced last month. His player profile still has him OOC at the end of this season, which is the same as it was when the club announced the trio of deals for him, Wilson and Connelly (the inconsistency on that was mentioned by @eliphas back on page 2571). I mean, it feels like nit-picking in the grand scheme of things but it's another example of the unnecessarily vague comms we're getting from the club. Firstly we announced that he'd signed a "short term deal" while publishing that his contract ends May 24. Now we've got him loaned out and there's mention of him "Signing a fresh deal at Motherwell this summer" with his contract expiry still published as May 2024. Like, which is it? It's been mentioned a few times over the summer but it really feels like whoever is writing copy for the club at the moment is tying themselves in knots when they really don't have to.
  12. If you want to take it a bit further since we became fan owned in October 2016 our profit (and losses) have looked like this: 17/18: £1.72m 18/19: (£436,000) 19/20: £346,590 20/21: £3.5m 21/22: (£1.0m) So a net profit of £4.12m over the last 5 seasons. Our Cash at hand on the last set of published accounts was £4,237,114. We'll post a pretty heavy loss for 22/23 I'd imagine given we ended up sacking 2 managers and signed a raft of players in January but the c.£1m loss in 21/22 largely came from us investing in capital expenditure projects off the back of the profit from the previous season - installation of new pitch, stadium upgrades etc.
  13. Aye. That away kit is very much not for me. Generally I like to avoid looking like I've been styled by a flute band so I'll be giving that shirt a heavy swerve.
  14. Assuming there are no hitches with Shields joining up with Coyle in india then Mahon being away on loan leaves us with Wilkinson, Efford and Obika. I'd guess that puts us in the market for another striker and perhaps promoting Ferrie?
  15. Kettlewell's already gone on record saying that we've been speaking with Brighton about getting Furlong back and we'd "hoped" it'd have been done a couple of weeks ago so it seems, as you say, it's a given that we're looking at LWB.
  16. IMO it was Butcher who made the back 3 work so I'd be surprised if that was the case. I don't think you can just overlook the fact that he was really fucking good in that role and shift him out. I mean, it's academic just now given he's injured but I don't think we'd have the same balance in there without him. McGinn being able to cover both RCB and RWB means that there's probably more scope for him to be flexible than the others.
