  1. Said it a few months ago and I stand by it, Cumbernauld the best side I've seen this season. Organised and streetwise with dangerous forwards. If the team at the top weren't throwing cash willy nilly at it I think they'd be champions.

Today I felt a game of two half's with us edging the first while the Colts impressed in the second. Kieran really had to score his one on one, could have made the difference.

Great to see Musa back in goal.

    Perhaps I'm overreacting but...

Have to say that I'm very disappointed with the board of the Lowland League for their choice of venue for the league cup final. Disappointed but not surprised I guess. Choosing a venue over a hundred miles from EK, Bo'ness not much closer, makes no sense to me.

Both sides will have to put on a bus, you'd imagine that won't be cheap  which is great considering there's no prize money for either team, plus the fans of both sides get shafted with travel costs too, as well as the time spent away. I also see there's been a two quid increase in entry price compared to last year to rub salt into the wound. Got to feel this will negatively affect the attendance as casual fans won't exactly head down in their droves, not that the LL board will be bothered as they have shown in the past they simply don't care what fans of their member clubs think.

Personally I hope win or lose Bo'ness don't take part in it next season, it's nothing but a drain to their finances in its current guise; two cup finals in two years and one solitary home gate to show for it in their nine matches.

Just my thoughts, others will have their own.

Good luck to Ian and the team this Sunday.

Anybody know the order of the LL/HL playoff games this season? The LL website has  LL v HL first but that would be a repeat of last season. The SPFL site doesn’t say either way. I think it has been year about, up till now, but not sure.

Read somewhere the draw was done recently (by Maxwell I think) and for the first leg the LL side will be the home team.

  4. It is at Newtown. The details will be out tomorrow I hope for Saturday's game. Kickoff/ticketing/entry procedures and all that fun stuff.

I see the unofficial BU Twitter has just posted Stirling Albion v the BU's on Saturday at Forthbank.......I thought this was a Newtown Park game ?
  5. Hopefully we'll have supporters back in next season and these guys, and the others from that side, can present the EOS Premier Division trophy to the fans as a kind of send off. They certainly deserve one. Both fantastic players with over 600 matches played between them for us and like you say it would be good to see them back at Newtown soon.

Absolutely, and won’t be easily replaced. Ross comes as a bit of a surprise as I think he probably still had a couple of years left in him.
Wish both all the best though and hopefully they’ll be back at Newtown fairly often as fans.
Speaking of fans; given both Will and Ross’s years of service, it’s an absolute stinker that neither are getting to see out a season and say their final farewells in front of the BU faithful.
  6. Dalbeattie wanting the league to be suspended.

    CLUB STATEMENT

We took the difficult decision to cancel training last night (Wednesday). Given the announcement made by the Scottish Government on Monday we felt uncomfortable asking our players and staff to travel to Dalbeattie from around Dumfries and Galloway and also from Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and Carlisle.

Despite the fact that we have followed all protocols and hopefully have been providing a COVID safe space, the rising number of cases in Dumfries and Galloway means we are very concerned that bringing players and staff to Dalbeattie for training is an unnecessary risk to our local community at this difficult time for everyone.

We are classed as elite professional players but no provision is available for covid testing at our level, we do however query the professional status as we are a part time club and all players have other careers out with football.

We as a club have today written to the Scottish Lowland Football League requesting that consideration be given to suspend the league till this terrible disease is under control again.

Whilst we fully appreciate that we’re all in football for the love of the game we believe it’s a distant second right now to the safety of everyone in Dumfries and Galloway and beyond and therefore we hope you’ll understand our thoughts and concerns at this moment in time as we look to protect each and every individual.

Like all clubs in the league we would love to be able to be able to complete this season in a timely manner but the safety of our committee, management team, players and of course the people of our local community is of more concern than football at this present time.

Hopefully we will get back to normal in the near future and be able to welcome everyone back to Islecroft in a safe environment.

  7. Assuming of course the Scottish Cup game actually goes ahead tomorrow which can't be anywhere near a certainty, pretty sure the next date for that if it's off again would be Saturday coming.

I’m hearing the offer has been made to reverse the fixture to ensure it goes ahead... can’t see ndp surviving two games in 5 days in this weather.
