  1. Broughty had an update on their Facebook page a few weeks ago which touched on this, basically all teams voted (bar Broughty) to allow newly registered players to take part in the competition if it restarts in the new season.

one problem playing outstanding scot cup ties is player registration. players may have moved teams  and    are  inelligible  . if your team had signed a player from one of the semi-finalists would they let him return to his former club to play a game or maybe two and risk injury. only way out is to cancel this years cup .
  2. Now that Bo'ness Utd has been awarded its SFA club licence, promotion to the Lowland League should be a formality for the EoSL champions.      But is it ?
With no Club 42 play-off, champions Kelty Hearts will remain in the Lowland League for next season. Furthermore, the SLFL has already confirmed that bottom club Vale of Leithen will NOT be relegated to the EoSL.
So, will the SLFL accept BU's promotion, which given the above situation about Kelty and Vale,  would mean that the Lowland League will have 17 clubs in 2020/21.
As yet, I haven't heard/read, that BU's promotion has been agreed, nor whether the Lowland will approve a 17 club league for 2020/21. Apologies, if I have missed this confirmation.

The Lowland League Twitter account put a meesage up on May 16th saying the BU's are promoted "subject to SFA approval". Going to go with a 17 team league. The image below was also on the tweet [emoji106]20200627_144744.jpeg
  3. And also, for the change in Kick-off time the clubs were made aware when the season long fixture list was released who was involved and at what time so plenty notice. My club had 8 months or so notice about our fixture being held on the Sunday for example so as you say, hardly a deal breaker!

A number of years ago I visited the very first Scottish Groundhop at Dalbeattie Star when they played Edinburgh City. The Groundhoppers have been back a few times since then, and although they can be a pain in the proverbial they can put some very welcome money into a club's coffers.
What is the Scottish Groundhop? It's a number of matches, usually in one particular league, spread over three days with varying kick off times, and if clubs have their making money heads on there's plenty to be made.
Groundhoppers have one love....visiting as many different grounds as possible in a season / career and then usually boring the arse off everybody with their tales about them. A typical Groundhop weekend has a match on the Friday night, so if we're looking at Ayrshire ex Juniors, it could be at Kello Rovers on the Friday night. Saturday might see games at Glenafton 11am kick off, followed by Cumnock at 2pm, and then Talbot at 5pm. Three games in the day, i's the stuff of fantasy for these fans. Sunday might see a visit to Lugar at 11am and then Muirkirk at 2pm, before heading home down south.
These are eagerly awaited each season by the folk who go on them. I tried to see about getting the Western Juniors to agree to looking at the possibility of hosting one such weekend, but their response was "We kick off at 2pm, so NO!" Unfortunately that head in the sand attitude has denied some clubs from a decent pay day. True, I know ther eare  anumber of fans at the hosting clubs who moan about having their kick off times messed about to accommodate the Hoppers, but they tend to be in a minority.
Commercially, the Hoppers spend money as they all want souvenirs of their visit. So any club with any commercial nous will have special programmes printed, new badges commissioned, maybe a few pennants etc. At Dalbeattie they had a real ale beer tent, which was hugely popular. There's bucketloads of money to be made from such a visit. Wonder how long it'll take for the first visit, Covid-19 notwithstanding?
  4. They were initially looking to reschedule the March Groundhop for October, visiting the same grounds that were due to be part of the original weekend. Probably be pushed back a bit now sadly.

You are right about the reason they use the EOS/LL teams to visit, when they approached the Junior high heedyins about hosting matches a few years back they were told to bolt basically. A poor decision for the clubs who would benefit financially at the cost of moving a kick-off time, even the away team is guaranteed a cash sum for being involved.

  5. Last match there was on this day 2018. Seems a lot longer.

We were supposed to be playing Bo'ness at home on Saturday just passed. Assuming this season gets blown off and Bo'ness go up, that'll be a minimum of three years without a derby at home. When was there last a gap of that length in derbies at Prestonfield?
And how long until the next one?
  6. He played in a friendly against Lothian Thistle, that's it as far as I'm aware.

I can safely say that Lemetti never appeared in a competitive match  as a signed player.  He may, of course, have appeared as a trialist whose name wasn't released or in a friendly match for which I don't keep appearance records.
  7. Nonsense, if HOB win their games in hand they are a point behind and deservedly so. Getting the points on the board early looks deceptively great. If the top half had all played the same amount of matches and the points tally were as they are just now I'd probably agree with you. It's still going to the wire IMO.

Surely Bo’ness can only throw it away from here!
