  1. Sept 11th

1954 and Camelon were the visitors to Newtown in the first round of the Junior Cup. The BU's demolished their opponents by 9-0.  The only surprise being Alex Scott didn't get among the goals! Three players hit doubles, Jimmy Martin, John Hunter & Hugh McMahon. Andy McBlain & Jimmy Harrower netted, with Camelon completing their own misery with an own goal.

The team was: Ronald, Mitchell, McKeeman, Hogg, Boyd, McBlain, Scott, McMahon, Martin, Hunter, Harrower.

2016 saw a visit to Prestonfield, with the McLennan brothers making their first return.  Chris Donnelly captained the BU's to a 3-0 victory.  Stuart Hunter opened the scoring 5 minutes before the break.  Ross Campbell & Fraser Keast killed the game off 5 minutes after the break.

The team was: Jamieson, Gemmell, Donnelly, Millar (Sloan), Hunter (Wright), Campbell, Keast, Philp, Strickland, Ru McLennan (Walker), Rod McLennan.

  3. Syme 3. Stevenson 16. Snowdon 4. McKenzie 18. Mitchell was the sub goalie and Mooney was 20. After the blood injury Syme took number 20 as there wasn't a blank numbered strip to replace his.

Quick question, could anyone help confirm the squad numbers from Saturday's game please? I have:
    21. Murphy, 2. Jacobs, ? Syme, 6 Comrie, 7 Keast, 8 Gemmell ©, 10 Morgan, 11 Nimmo, 12 Hewitt, 14 Grant, 15 Campbell
    ? Stevenson, ? Mitchell, ? Snowdon, ? Mooney, ? McKenzie
Just so I can ensure the highlights are accurate.

In 1946 fully 1000 fans travelled by bus, car, train & ferry to Rosyth to play the Recreation in a Junior Cup match.  The BU's routed the home team 8-1 with hat-tricks from Willie Dickson & John McKie.  Jim McLean scored two.  This was the last appearance by Rab Gibb, who then signed for Partick Thistle.

The team was: McKinnon, W.Mitchell, Gibb, Plumb, Stewart, Brash, McGowan, Pryde, Dickson, McKie, McLean

  5. 1949 and the Junior Cup began with an easy 3-1 win over Kelty Rangers at home.  Jimmy Walsh and William Currie scored as the BU's led 2-1 at the break.  A dull second half was livened only by a last-minute clincher from Walsh.

The team was: Graham, Mitchell, Tennant, Rodgers, Thomson, McKie, Hogg, Sproull, Currie, Walsh, Black.
