Baldwin back should make a difference, but I'd leave Callachan on the bench for a week or 2. Expecting Laidlaw back in goals. One of these games that I'd be hopeful of getting something from, but Aberdeen look much better than last season already. If we can get the first goal we give ourselves a decent chance.

Debatable if the reds are any better than last season at this point.
Started last season well under Glass, until the cup knockout defeat to Raith. This season was Annan and only scraped it.
Sure I read the team has 1 more point than last season, and I don’t think they got the luxury of playing v 10 men so often either.
    Time will tell.

It is quite concerning how many goals we are conceding from corners in the six-yard box too. You can pin much of the blame for two of them on Roos, but I assumed this would be an area Goodwin would be strong at managing.

I didn’t make it to Annan due to work. Watched the highlights though and in then Annan had 3 corners. 1 they hit the woodwork from, another they scored from and another they should have scored from but headed straight at the keeper.

Extremely concerning against an average L2 team.

Establishing some facts before making further comment,  commend as sensible course. He has just totally slagged off the LL as the diddiest of all diddy leagues,  Might want to challenge that statement

Compared to the leagues, it is a bit of a shit show. And that’s coming from someone who thinks the leagues of 10 and playing each other 4 times is far too repetitive and boring. The play offs though mean almost every team has something to play for all season which adds more interest/drama in the small sized divisions.

No transfer deadline for all Leagues below Tier 4 in Scotland.  Sorry to burst your sad  bubble.

Serious question, have you ever been to a LL game ?

He goes to Cowden games so obviously yes.
Not sure what that has to do with anything?

Special shoutout the the lovely family running the club shop aswell never seen it so busy before even a quiet cold Tuesday it was pretty busy. Plenty new interesting stock, well advertised on social media. Treated myself to a nice blue sweatshirt last night. Long may it continue can only be good for the club.

They are trying to make a real go of it, despite the obstacles.

Can't agree. The perception when he came up here was that he was shite and that clouds fans judgement of him from the outset. I can't think of any game where he's had a shaky day.

Roos hasn’t done much wrong since coming in. As you say some had an opinion of him before he started which is a shame as it’s a fresh start.

    Yeah it is, 7.45.

Be good if the club could try and get a bit of publicity going for it and drag a few people out their houses/the pub.  Weather forecast looks decent enough.

    Perfect cheers, should make that.
No champions league yet as well although EPL on BT Sports will sadly keep the brainwashed away from attending.

If you are happy to have a competitive league and never see a Scottish club enter the group stage of a European completion again then it’s magnificent.

That’s basically what happens anyway, apart from the odd occasion.

I’m counting yourselves as Irish (understandably), and the reincarnation English.

I used to play basketball and enjoy watching the nba. They have had 6/7 winners I think in the last 10 years. That numbers not higher only due to 2 of the best shooters ever (and 1 other guy who’s good) deciding to play for the same club for their whole careers. Couple of years ago they had injuries and almost came last! That is true sporting competition.

Reality here is a Euro super league for the top 2/3/4 from each country who have the money to win their domestic league. Form the new league and leave their own countries league for the rest to play for. Gives the forever league winners a much more competitive competition and gives the rest their own level of competition.

Well, the teams all round us in the league got beaten today, some heavily.

Tuesday’s opponents, Edinburgh Uni, got horsed 6-0 at home by the team that beat Cowden 2-0 at home last weekend.

It makes our game on Tuesday a must win really, not technically of course, just from a morale point of view.  A win with style would be nice, but I’ll take a last minute rebound off their goalie’s arse if that’s what it takes.

Is the Edinburgh Uni game on Tuesday at home?

This was my ingenious plan on the '36 years' thread:

All the non-OF clubs get together and demand a massively different distribution model that presents a much, much more level playing field for clubs.

It could involve gate sharing, merchandising being pooled, a requirement for a large chunk of European income to be shared out etc.    There would be a need for this model to involve lower league clubs also, so that no cliff face exists between divisions.

When these demands are rejected by the OF clubs and spluttered about in the witless media, the top flight diddies agree ahead of the next full season, that they will field youth sides against the OF, ensuring that they get hammered each and every time.  For home matches against the OF, they should urge their own fans to boycott the games, opening the grounds entirely to OF fans if they still want to come.  It'll mean that the OF sides take maximum points from everyone else, and the title will rest solely on the 4 OF games.  The spectacle throughout the season for Sky will be shit and thoroughly devalued.

Meanwhile, the teams will all compete as usual against each other, meaning the 3rd placed team will be regarded as Champions by actual fans everywhere.  A trophy could even be presented. Relegation will still be decided in the traditional way, but as everyone has lost to the OF every time, the outcome will again be entirely reliant on non-OF fixtures.

The actual end of season table would not be that vastly different from what we get each year anyway.  The difference would be that the others would have stopped pretending that they all take part in a valid competition to win the league.

The silly devalued title will have been decided over only 4 matches, while the Champions we recognise will have won their crown over 30.

Think how this would capture the imagination.  Fans would for the first time be involved in what would be considered the actual title race.  This would be an international, sensational media story of the ancient footballing nation that stood up to the injustices of the modern game.

The Latest OF league win would be rendered hollower than ever, derived as it would be from just 4 matches against 1 opponent.  Meanwhile, we'd all hail our new real champions.

No way would those in our game have the courage to do any of this of course, but it's a nice dream.

We need the behaviour of our clubs to reflect that we don't need the OF, but they do need us.

This is magnificent. Where do we sign up?
