500 covered spectator places. There are at least two covered wheelchair places plus 499 seats.

OK it's a fiddle but don't they count as spectators?

Are the covered wheelchair spaces separate from the main build of the stand? I didn't see any evidence of that last season, therefore they must be part of the 499 cap of the stand. If they were in there then the fire saftey requirements for being over 500 cap would apply

  2. I honestly don't know what the pant-wetting is about derogation on licensing has been commonly applied in the spfl and I highly doubt unless there's something ridiculous that a club have no hope of rectifying then they'll be applied again, and without punishment too.

The Buckie scenario has drawn some attention, nothing that wouldn't have been avoided if Buckie had half a brain and could follow simple administration requirements, just cos their incompetent doesn't mean the spfl will need to deal with other clubs the same.

Loves stats/analysis stuff, but there's a creeping amount of people who are massively over analysing anything successful big clubs do and claiming its some incredible thing others are missing.

Like, I see this getting done at every Saints game and you see it at amateur level too, yet apparently it's a sign of an elite side and coaching.

I seen similar a few months ago when Mainoo broke through at Man U. Someone produced a 25 minute video of every instance of him looking around before he received the ball.

I think people get so obsessed with finding something to "analyse" every week.

There was one of de bryne scanning and that was why he has such good game awareness/vision, as if nobody else had thought of it.

Generally find these type of posts I find are done by those who consume football purely through tv and have finally noticed something that maybe isn't always filmed and they think it's a new innovation.

I just felt there was no need for half an hour between support bands.

Yeah, 15-20 mins max between supports for these sort of gigs.  Sounds like everyone was just having a nice blether back stage.

  5. Turnover between bands at slay was reasonable the only time I've went. Its not liken its a massive venue where bands are going to be putting up large scale productions and not like that's the style of those bands either.

  6. Is there not more mobility to reduce total games by reducing cup games than league? I suspect that would be more desired.  Downfield who are the furtherest behind on league games gave up 8 match days for the junior cup.

A 38 game league season is probably at the top end of desirable but shouldn't be uncomfortable, it's a lot closer to ideal than 28

Would imagine most clubs in the league will want EK to win the play off.

League would be more competitive next season at the top without them.

If Broxburn make it through, where realistically do you see them finishing? Top half?

I would think top half as their aim.

Is next year going to be the tightest league yet? I suspect so,  the following year maybe tighter still depending if we get a WoS promotion,

There's a bit of movement to happen but I don't think we are that far away from the LL containing the best 16 clubs in the region outside the SPFL and It won't be a guarantee promoted clubs will do well, nor that relegated clubs can't expect to be able to challenge at the top end.

Jimmy Anderson calling it a day after the first test against the West Indies this summer.

Guess who has tickets to the second test and was looking forward to seeing him 🙋🏻‍♂️

Seems weird for a player to not compete a series before retiring

At the risk of spamming, but its a whole separate point - about £800 for flights, acommodation (bed, breakfast and balcony), hold luggage, travel insurance (booked separately), shuttle service...

For 11 nights my gut feeling is that's pretty good value and I've not been fleeced? It's the first time I've tried booking a holiday myself, only ever been friends/family/partner that has booked stuff before, was ridiculous getting lost among the dozens of similar websites 😅

edit: I suppose time will tell, but it feels like a hard kind of... tricky thing to guage & it's a pain in the hoop trying to do due diligence; tripadvisor generally says the place I've booked up is decent enough, but its a balance between too cheap and it might spoil the entire holiday by being an ant filled, mouldy shithole; too expensive and you risk overpaying for a holiday to the tune of a few £hundred which eats into your spending money...

You can end up in a reviews spiral, at somepoint you've just got to make a call.

Generally your not going to get ripped off compared to somewhere of similar standard, there's too much market force for somewhere to get away with offering a poor service at the same price long term.

What standard your willing to accept is up to you, there's some who'll cry over a scratch mark in a luxury hotel and there's others who'll sleep in the local sewer pleased with low cost and warmth generated from the shit, where you fall in that spectrum is your call.

I've had fleeting thoughts over solo holidays and I don't have a clue what stops me, I'm content with my own company at home afterall.

  10. I'm not convinced by mochrie but he seems to have developed this year and added a bit more end product, than he has with us. he wouldn't be a terrible signing but in a summer where we really need to bring in quality that can have us fighting at the top end of the league I think we need to set our sights higher. Adding ok players onto our current squad doesn't sound like great business.

Hype train seems to have calmed down on strapp a bit , I think he'll be playing at this level again next year

He seems to suggest that teams who are hiring a facility rather than owning it are swimming in cash, a lot of teams will be paying hundreds of pounds per week for training and games.

No, groundsharing is completely free and definitely doesn't come with extensive ongoing costs

Scottish clubs were banned from playing preseason friendlies until 1965 and not at home until 1966... in England the ban had lifted in 1961.

SFA/SFL competitive season ran from 2nd Saturday in August to end of April. You'll find most clubs would play a couple of internal public practice matches in early August like 'Probables v Possibles' or 'Whites v Blacks' (although I think they had to let people in free or donate the gate?).

However you could get around it by playing in a competitive tournament or a charity competition. SFA would almost grant special permission for tours and special years e.g. Festival of Britain.

Phenomenon lingered much longer in the juniors - IIRC it was only around a decade ago they were allowed to play friendlies before the 3rd Saturday in July, when it was moved to 1st Saturday, then almost immediately to start of July.

I remember the permission for friendlies in the juniors but never heard of it for the seniors, I just don't get where on earth there would be motivation to stop these in either grade. The game was largely built on friendlies at its origin afterall and they still made up a huge amount of the calendar until league football took off.  Did at some point leagues become scared that clubs would lean toward friendlies and that would possibly affect their scheduling?

Road rage man calms down when he finds out he's going to jail. Before and after:

A bizarre situation, I don't know who's right or wrong up until the rage incident but surely this isn't worth police court and potentially more public cost through jail just cos he got a bit raging? Jails would be overflowing after one Saturday afternoon.

With a 7 week old baby, I now fully understand why people have "baby on board" signs. Feel like I'm definitely more aware of tailgaters, general arsehole drivers etc.

Although, it would be more apt if the sign said "there's a baby on board you utter, fucking c**t".

Surely the message is "you might be willing to kill yourself, I don't care, you might be willing to kill me and that's a problem, please is the thought of killing a child enough to stop you?"

I honestly thought it was only Dundee folk that referred to Asda as the Asda.

We have a big Asda and wee Asda, they must be referred too as this to avoid any potential confusion even if it makes no difference to the conversation.

  14. Also, and this maybe covered elsewhere in the thread but who the f**k is this Simon Dickerson character? Seems to set up and disolve companies at will(all largely meant to be based on removals/storage) including this apparent partner transdec and it doesn’t look like he could have found Falkirk on a map until he became involved,   My dodgy senses are tingling

  15. Right so, the last statement was wrong? It was suggested the external project was where the shortfall lay, but apparently that’s shite and is being funded by a partner.

Therefore the missing funds( from other partners ?)is apparently on normal club spending and that’s what needs covered ?
