21 points from the first quarter is a brilliant return for our efforts. Well done to everyone involved with the club. We ended season 17/18 with 22 points in total. In 17 months the transformation on the pitch is quite remarkable. We have Stirling Albion away on the 26th of this month then Cove at home a week later. Lets see how many locals we can get to that game. The team deserve a good backing. Tell your friends, family, anyone. Lets show the club/players we appreciate all their efforts.

Good post @onecowdenand on the money. Post match with the manager touches on this too the more we can have backing the club who knows what we can achieve but the backing yesterday was fantastic. In the interview the interviewer suggests about 40 visitors from Edinburgh City which I wouldn't really disagree with based on previous figures which suggests 380 home supporters including sponsors & hospitality who were all backing Cowden.

There are no plans to close the terracing beyond where weather creates a health & safety issue i.e. freezing etc. & generally no significant cost savings in doing so. What I would say in line with @StevieLes IIis that given we are now entering pooresr weather it would be great to aim to fill the new stand with home fans in coming fixtures it really makes a difference having a concentration of fans all shouting the boys on, Saturday was the first time I felt that in a long time. However if people want to stand out on the terracing their choice & completely free to do so.

For me echoing Gary's sentiments a lot of hard work he mentions Management , players & board which is true I would also add a number of key volunteers who do  vital jobs week after week behind he scenes quietly without cost but for the love of the club these people  are a huge part of why were are where we are bearing in mind they pay their  gate fee, it would be fantastic if we could encourage a few more people to come  in not to do the key  jobs they do but just cheers the boys.

You can take away my freedom, you can take away my money, you can take away my old age pension, you can take away my takeaways - but if you try to take away the terracing I'll put you, your friends and family to the sword in a bloody battle that will be talked about in hushed tones for centuries. Got that, Stevie? 😱

Excellent Ron admirable resistance.

In all seriousness the atmosphere in the stand was exccellent  with good noise levels backing the team with our largest crowd of the season, bearing in mind Edinburgh rarely bring and real numbers indicates & upturn in home fans numbers as well as neutrals at hospitality. A positive & enjoyable time at the moment still a lot to do but let's see where we get to.

3. Great team performance perhaps not at our best but 3 points clean sheet clear chances in the second half to win by a greater margin. Delighted to see that the well deserved Manager & Player of he month awards to Gary & Mango respectively didn't prove to be the curse it can often be.

Hamilton was again immense today not a foot wrong Robbie Buchanan too. Overall the whole team put in a real shift. Nice to see Kevin Dabrowski come to watch as he recovers a great welcome personally and the reaction from his team mates says it all about him and the overall ream spirit & dressing room. Delighted to see Coxy score the winner and see the reaction he got from his team members and fans at the final whistle a key part of the jigsaw that is the current squad who always gives 110% and the fans need to respond in kind.

Finally we received excellent feed back on the hospitality & sponsorship groups today something we are looking to grow & develop a big thanks to all the volunteers who made this happen behind the scenes a special thanks to @Cowden316 rolling up his sleeves ehen we were really short handed and helping start to finish really apprecaited.

We have a team and togethernness on the park and I can see the connectivity with the fans growing game by game lets keep it going & see where we get too, but most importantly lets make sure we get behind the players  fully when its not going so well that's what will matters we have a great loyal vocal fan base lets use this to best effect.

4. There is a good feeling around Central Park at the moment great credit to Gary, his staff & players. A tough shift today the boy stuck to the task and three points, a clean sheet & 5 wins on the trot couldn't ask for more.

Also off the park great to see the lounge busier with events and food samples from caterer who will be doing hospitality for us next week  the reviews very positive. We are building something need however to we bring more through the gate and also maximise what's on offer to fund the continual progress had some great suggestions today & will work on these.

With regard  to Albion Roves a good well drilled outfit who will be hard to beat and will cause problems and wouldn't be be surprised to see them push for a top 4 slot more than capable and as ever good decent people around the club I have a lot of respect for them & what Kevin Harper has done since appointed.

I think the manager was trying to play a system and use Taylor to plays a similar role as the missing Connor Smith but for me didnt work I think Taylor better wide cutting in. Also through Robbie looked a bit all at sea as right wingback. Fraser Mullen good game again today and a real two footed player great penalty too. Usual hard work from Renton keeping keeping QP ball line busy . Once again another sold performance from Jamie Todd who is completely transformed from the player that joined us from Berwick jus seems to get better & better.

Great header from Mango for the second 2 in two also please to see Jordan Allan get a goal which will build his confidence.

As others have said maybe not at our best today but 3 nil away from home with a clean sheet with two key players missing in Smith & big Kev not too shabby.

Funny how people read things at times

Just had a good friend ask if I was having a go at the manager  with this post.

in reality quite the opposite think him Easty & Flahts are doing a first class job allowing me to enjoy Saturdays again.  Gary shaped up with a 3-5-2 which I thought was 100% right. With key players missing you have to use the squad sometimes asking people to play in roles they are not accustomed to on a regular basis  & forced into changing a winning teambut that is part of managing a squad and for me selection was 100% correct. It

End of  we come away with 3 points & a clean sheet,  new keeper making his debut, with a team spirit that is obvious too see   is a credit to that manager & his backroom staff & who IMHO. must be a serious candidate for manager of the month he  has done a great job since taking over with continual consistent progress a real feel good feel good factor at the moment. Long may it continue

I give up.

Feel your pain AC the guidance communication from SPFL  was that clubs if they wished could have a minutes applause.

Again not sure how many clubs adopted given my my lack of omnipresence skills. Consensus player not associated with either club  no but platform to  raise awareness of a cruel life threatening disease and pay respects to an athlete who was afflicted. To do otherwise i.e. a minute of your life appears somewhat petty albeit any fans who didn't feel the need to participate were always free to abstain.

I was a little later than usual, was there an announcement about it before kick off? Nobody around me seemed to have any idea what was going on.

No bother Ref approached both clubs as an SPFL dispensation if clubs wished to do so no major view from either club so decission was to do so not sure how many others followed suit. For me a sportsman who endured a horrible disease.

Few QP challenges in 1st should have seen yellow
Instead we get a booking for stupidly kicking the ball away
Rest worth bookings I feel
Great 3 points and another clean sheet
Happy days
Ps delay at HT - any truth in rumour QP fielded ineligible player ?

TBF more about someone making a James Hunt of the team lines. Winning 3 nil I wouldn't envisage the club making too much of a fuss rather suspect move on look-forward to next match. How the SPFL react well who knows.

Queens maybe had spells where they had more possession but never once broke the lines. I thought even though we where without the ball for spells when we did get it we looked far more dangerous. so not sure how you could justify dropping anyone for Allan.

I previously had no firm view on David Marsh  as a player for us on the park contributed fairly little and a disappointment in my eyes given his percieved reputation and expectations. As an individual seemed somewhat distant and at times believed his own PR without being completely  off putting an enigma if you will.. However his antics last Saturday and his cheap shot at Kevin  have now resolved that personal conundrum  and crystallised my thoughts. He is simply a complete  Bawbag stole your stock-phrase Cowden_T.I.D but never a more apt application .
Beyond his cowardly act of thuggery his performance as a player through the 90 minutes also confirmed again how poor he is and delighted no longer on the pay role at Central Park.
Hopefully Kevin makes a full and swift recovery.

Not going to dispute your opinion on him being a cowardly bawbag but I thought he was a decent player for us and indeed a decent player at this level. Perhaps his attitude issue was the reason he left us?

All about opinions sir but I certainly can't recall a memorable contribution or performance he was brought in as a key player in a push for promtion and contributed ....................

Unfortunately the town only comes out when we're doing great on the pitch or we find ourselves playing for our league status!!! Not just cowdenbeath slot of local teams suffer the same problems. You will always get the gloryhunters that only turn up when we have success on the pitch unfortunate yes how do we sort it ?? Like cowdenbeath at trying get out into the local community get kids involved let the meet or play with first team!! All you can do to spread the word or why not ask locals what would bring them back apart from glory and success on the pitch there's no Magic wand got to keep plugging away like the board are doing Mon the beath

A lot of good points CLB and suggestions appreciated. I completely  agree involving Kids & Community are key aspects as well as wider engagement. Some initiatives already off the ground with more too come I guess one of the biggest challenges as well as the availability of funds is the availability of people to support initiatives with the boar members pretty stretched. I will try and outline some of what's happening and I guess some of what the club would like to do too  by easy of an update :

• Community work is underway on a Community Trust with the hugely successful 5K run being one of the first big initiatives . There been a huge amount of time spent on this and a complex  process  around   Trust Agreements partnership consents etc. but highly advanced stage.
• Schools Alex Haddow doing a great job working with all the local schools to get them involved and attending as well arranging mascots. Our community coach Dean Ewing is also in the local schools running sessions too.
• The Club opened the Andy Mathew Lounge in the stand with the bar now open for the first time in 10 years  available to fans pre match & post match with players in post match giving fans the chance meet building closer bonds. The lounge is available for Hospitality & for match sponsors etc too.
• Club has created a new Commercial package covering player sponsorship, match & ball sponsorship and advertising. The club has tried to break all the packages down and make them flexible to try & make more accessible to people so for example if someone can't afford to the full player sponsorship they have options starting at boot sponsorship. Also for the first time which has moved to be very popular opportunity to sponsor a step.Details on the club website clicking on the Commercial tab available here.
•  The club lottery is now available fully on line including a mobile app you can play here.
• Blue Brazil TV has been ressurected to share highlights , post match interviews & player interviews as well as behind the goals coverage, still more to develop here but the more subscribers the more effective it is you can subscribe free here.
• New merchandise such as the popular Cowdenbeath.
• There are a number of other areas being worked on one of which coming soon free public access fast broadband across all of Central Park.

I hope this gives an isight on some of what's ended and what's being worked on suggestions always welcomed too with fans already contributing some great suggestions.

Financing a football club is not easy in this day and age & boards have a free budgets based on projected forecasts so in other words the board has to agree what they think is a realistic and achievable figure to give the manager a playing budget to recruit the kind of players that fans want see & hopefully in turn brings some success, none of these aspects hover are guaranteed. though.

So in practical terms it means the board has to set targets across all income opportunities and push these to deliver the budget if they fail then there's a shortfall that some one has to cover. If fans are able to  spread the word on sponsorship, hospitality etc that would go a huge way, as would using the lounge getting some atmosphere with fans & players etc.

Also getting friends & family to try the lottery we are getting players now in the USA & Australia which is great.

This is not a post  to say how great the board are or have a moan complaint people are not doing enough it s intended to give some insights around progress & challenges. The club has some fantastic loyal and generous fans whom without there would be no club. Money is tight for every one & I know there are some already giving probably more than they can, that is why spreading the word on some of the opportunities available far & wide hips financially and also spreads the burden too.

13. I thought at times we were excellent yesterday played some really nice football in spells. For me Jamie Todd was my MOTM he was immense and the tackle he made on the far side I felt it in the stand.  Kevin in goals a real character nearly blotted his copy book with a pass back first half but made up for it with  a fantastic relax save near the end too a really sore one from David Marsh's elbow to. Chris Hamilton has really impressed me not the biggest CB but great positional awareness and when tasked with marking McGuigan did a fantastic job. Midfield were excellent Archie Thomas an intelligent player and young Connor Smith is an outstanding talent combining well with Cox & Renton who  as usual worked their socks off and delighted to see Coxy get his goal and the reception he received from fans as he walked round after being subbed was nice to see.

In reaction to Stenny there seems to be a lot gloom & doom from their fans which I'm not sure is fully merited. I thought Halleran played really well and always looked a threat when on the ball. McGuigan is a handful and can be a real threat yesterday however Todd & Hamilton did a great job keeping him quiet. It is worth bearing in mind if Kevin hadn't pulled off a wonder save with about 20 to go it goes 2 :1 and then a different game Stenny had chances but Cowden players were throwing themselves in to block there was a period I recall in the first half about 5 successive blocks. If I was to be critical they didn't vary their play just seemed to go back to front which becomes predictable and gives away a lot of possession, overall I think they will sort things out.

A nice enjoyable Saturday for me watching an entertaining performance keep it Cowden & lets see where it takes us.

It's an undertaker we need, not a new manager.

Agree we are expecting Clarke to resurecte a terminally ill patient, a far more radical approach accords the board at all levels required. Sadly I think the SFA are too myopic & shallow to do what's required therefore successive managers will shoulder the balm for their short comings and the circle will continue ...... #DestinationRockBottom

There is definitely potential there and 100% agree regarding confidence, You can see his head drop if things don’t quite happen for him in a game. I thought we missed the presence of coxy on Saturday but do think he has been waking a fine line in recent games. I love the fact he plays on the edge and he wouldn’t be the same player without it but I do believe he could control some of the petulant behaviour a bit better.

In terms of Coxy it is about compromise. He plays on the edge  gives his all and has scored vital goals for us as well as being a great influence in the dressing room. On the other hand he has personal struggles which are well documented and I admire his candour around this as well as his desire to help others. We have to keep this isn mind and recognise that he will lapse as it is a struggle for him and recognise that at those times more than others he needs us to support him

16. Jordan Allan is a confidence player still young and developing. If he gets the break and scores there is  a fair probability he will score more in a game the inverse equally true. Remember he is the youngest player yo play professional football in the UK and now at the age of 20 trying to find his feet again after a whirlwind journey talent doesn't leave you just belief. I think he has a good personality and fits well and has made the right choice to stay at Cowden with the correct guidance and support could have a very positive future, as I say only 20 so plenty of time & scope to develop.

The End Sacked

Again I guess another inane question are you saying that KR has been relieved of his duties at Stirling Albion as no official communications confirming ?

All 4 red cards merited in my opinion

1st is a terrible challenge high over the ball

2nd the player has made a save any keeper would be proud of

3rd rovers player received 2nd yellow

Stirling manager clearly told the ref where to go, and btw waited in the tunnel for him had to be restrained at full time hopefully included in the report by the ref, I do however understand why he was upset as he is now a midges eyelash off being sacked

My favourite moment was the Stirling player sitting in the stand trying to slag rovers fans at full time, his team have lost 5 in a row and he cant even get into the matchday squad

Probably a stupid question stats say 3 reds assume Stirling Manager also shown red? as Reds/Yellows for officials do not count as formal sanctions rather more symbolic gestures.

19. Al the very best to Jordyn one of the nicest guys in the game. As well as his goals he did a hell of a lot for the club of the park too a measure of the man. Bring to bring up a family , run a business and play football at SPFL2 level and the fitness required at his stage in life just a reach too far, and he has focused rightly so on his priorities family & business first football from a different aspect.

I will always be grateful for all that he did at Cowden as I say a lot behind the scenes and always a welcome face. All the very best to the big guy hope he does really well as a gaffer with his knowledge & personality he has every chance
