  1. Queens Park away on a Saturday would be a great away day with all the good Southside pubs.
  2. The way that Beaton referred the game,I reckon it turned all neutrals into wanting St.Mirren to win.Congratulations from this Accie as you guys did my pal Derek Findlay a great ovation and was rooting for you. Still not as good as Easter Road though coming back from 2-0 down away from home but you got there in the end.
  3. A very hearty thanks to the Accies Family who did Derek Findlay and his son Ross proud yesterday.
  4. If we had kept Canning it would have been us down automatically and Dundee in the play off with St.Mirren safe. McIntyre signed I think 10 players,Kearney six or seven and Rice one so the guy did a better job for me as he was still lumbered with Canning's dross and had to play some of them to help us over the line. Looking forward to the summer and hopefully a few coming in with a decent pedigree rather than being proven correct about most Canning signed.
  5. There are three certainties in life:death, taxes and Dundee winning in Hamilton after a terrible run. I couldn't believe watching the first half that Canning never changed it as the Dundee defence strolled it and a blind man could see Big Freddy needed help up front. I've never bought this Dundee worse side by miles as all the bottom sides are guilty of putting in days like we did today. When I saw the team,I feared the worse as the Accies midfield is the worst in the League full of players like Imrie,Kelly,Taiwo,Boyd and McKinnon who are all Championship level-only the new boy Martin from Hibs looks good enough at this level. As for Aaron Smith-surely he can't be worse than what we have utilised all season there? No surprise to us Accies fans what happened today and well done Dundee.Accies now enter games verses Hibs,Rangers,Aberdeen and Killie-three of which are away, but Accies being Accies we will pull off an unexpected win in one of them which will keep Calamity Canning in a job.
  6. The guy who founded the Accies HAFSWO Supporters Organisation in the early 1980's and was one of those who helped to save the club in 1970 turned 3-4 years ago into a Celtic fan in his mid 50's;his political pals may have had a part in this as the guy is cult daft. I also know two guys who were Accies stalwarts for over 20 years who turned into Well fans in their late 30's early 40's-can't work that one out either. Conversely,I know a few who have changed in recent years from supporting the Old Firm and are now Accies Season Ticket holders along with their kids.
  7. I would rather have Jim Watson playing than Craig Watson;the guy is a bombscare and out of his depth at this level.
  8. Not forgetting the various coffee shops down The train wreck of a town centre.
  9. Spoke to a few County fans post match in The Vaults.Good guys who realise time is still on their side as other clubs have also had bad starts.
  10. Never noticed this one. There's a well known guy goes to the Accies games called Tatty, but he lives in Larbert I think,so probably not the same guy.He is also a devout Christian so pre marital conjugal relations woud be out the window.
  11. The Mrs has a new Head Chef in the kitchen at her work. She's big, loud, tough, gay and looks like Tam Cowan. She is now known as Sargeant Strapon.
  12. Kinda looks like that ex Airdrie Chairman,George "sfa"Peat.
  13. Accies would only have defeated them as usual in the penultimate game at Cappielow.Better it ended now.Task for Moore is to keep the confidenceup, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Morton go for Billy Reid as despite the disastrous last few years,he can get a side out of this League with the right backing.Whether Morton fans would accept his manner of football is for them to decide.
  14. The search continues.I am sure the McCanns will take the hunt to Bermuda,Cubs,The Seychelles and other hot spots. They might even pick up a second property with the proceeds from their new book. A wee bit left and they could they perhaps undergo a lie detector test.
  15. Club30-the only "disco" where the women have to take out their falsers before giving a BJ. I reckon Hamilton Palace would be a good shout due to the amount of Lanarkshire schemies in there every week.
  16. Bin not been empried for 2 weeks.Council binmen not willing to walk 5 minutes to take them to the lorry while folk are out working.Good old South Lanarkshire Council. Not as bad as some.No trains from Central after 11:30 am.Got one at 5pm to M/well and walked home to Hamilton going quicker than the traffic.Bumped into a few folk from Stonehouse/Glasgow/Strathaven who have booked into that hotel near Hamilton Palace. Walked the final mile and a bit and all the pubs were busy with folk who have abandoned their cars.Like a surreal Saturday night.
  17. Accies fan The Chief who posts on P&B just emailed me that his wife has just had their first child-a daughter.Congrats to both.Mother and baby doing well I hope.
  18. There was a guy where I used to live who used to claim money for incontinence. He used to put a small plastic bag in his pants and await the visiting officer from the old DHSS.Then he would put his hand in his pocket and with a wee pin,he would burst the plastic bag making it look as if had pissed himself. The same guy used to go about with a walking stick twirling it in the street when pissed.Years later,he became really ill and ended up in a wheelchair with his boy getting him a wheelchair space at Accies. The guy died through ill health with many thinking he was up to his old ruses whilst in the wheelchair.Case of crying wolf methinks.
  19. Watched it in the GFT a while back.Powerful movie.Hopefully it ends up on BBC4/Film 4 in the near future. Persepolis was also a good movie also to do with the Middle East, based on a woman's recollections of her time in Iran and in exile.
  20. Is John Cook from Cambuslang still the DJ there LIP?.Used to play fitba with him and he brightened up many a Sunday afternoon with stories of the goings on at Capo Towers.
  21. I was playing fitba not so long ago at the Jock Stein astro in Hillhouse and some wee neds went through the money for the park during the game and made off with the proceeds. Ilive just round from Equi's in Hamilton and the back of the street has a lane which runs from Hamilton West to Burnbank. Some fcukers tried to break into 5 houses last week.I got home from work on Wednesday and someone had had a go at the back door with a shovel. A wee neddy guy inthe street was visited by my wee brother who used to bully him at school and told if anything happens while me or the missus are at work,he will be held responsible as all these types know each other. b Apart from that, living where I do is okay as there is plenty going on in the area near Accies park be it restaurants, pubs, leisure etc and the town is a 10 minute walk away as is Strathclyde Park.
