  11. This might help explain...... The Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to reveal our special crest for our 150th Anniversary. The 150th crest is comprised of key elements from our club's history and modernised to highlight Kilmarnock's honour and tradition as we hold celebrations throughout the remainder of the 2018/19 season and the 2019/20 campaign. Until 1977, the only badge that had ever appeared on our club jersey was the sign of benediction on top of a football. This was Killie's first-ever crest and was drawn on the rear side of the October 1872 Book of Constitution. In 1906, when the club became a Limited Company, a badge was created and elements like the shield in a circular emblem have been incorporated in our 150th crest. This badge has always featured on club share certificates so our fans will recognise this. Unbelievably, we didn't have any crest on our strips until 1977 and at that point, the Kilmarnock town badge became incorporated in our club crest. This remained until The Court of the Lord Lyon intervened in 1991. We haven't incorporated the squirrels into the 150th crest as they belong to the town of Kilmarnock and we wanted this crest to highlight elements that come from the club's origins. You will see our anniversary crest displayed on all event notifications, merchandise and much more throughout this special time for all Killie fans. A huge thanks is due to the team involved including See Saw Creative, club historian John Livingston and Martin Le Roy, who helped provide a fans' perspective. We know our fans will wear our crest with pride throughout our 150th Anniversary celebrations and a full list of events will be announced in the very near future.

  16. Will you guys have any fit/eligible strikers when we play you a week on Saturday?...... Steven Naismith will miss Scotland's two Nations League matches against Albania and Israel next month, Hearts boss Craig Levein has confirmed. The striker, 32, was forced out of Sunday's League Cup semi-final defeat by Celtic early on with a knee injury. Levein said it appears there is a slight tear in Naismith's knee cartilage which will require surgery and a period of recuperation. The on-loan forward has returned to parent club Norwich for assessment. A rejuvenated Naismith has scored 11 goals in 16 games for the Scottish Premiership leaders this season. He marked his return to the Scotland side with a goal in their opening 2-0 Nations League win over Albania, and was also on the mark in a friendly defeat by Portugal. Scotland, who lost their second Nations League match 2-1 in Israel earlier this month, travel to face Albania on 17 November before hosting Israel at Hampden on 20 November. Naismith will also miss a host of crucial league games for the Edinburgh side, starting with Wednesday's derby with Hibernian at Tynecastle. He is the latest key player Levein will have to do without, with centre-backs Christophe Berra and John Souttar and striker Uche Ikpeazu already on the long-term casualty list. Influential Austrian midfielder Peter Haring will also miss the derby with a hernia problem, while another forward, Steven MacLean, is waiting to hear if he will face a Scottish FA charge - and possible two-match ban - over an incident with Celtic's Eboue Kouassi.
  17. I see SC was represented today by top London based lawyer Paul Gilroy QC, an employment law expert who specialises in football, he happens to also represent Sir Alex Ferguson & Luis Van Gal. Perhaps he's the reason the charge was virtually quashed barring a repeat offence this season......
  18. £370,000 coming to each of last seasons Premiership clubs as a result of Celtics run in Europe....... Patrick & Ross Co get their share but St Mirren & Livi miss out. https://stv.tv/sport/football/1432183-spfl-clubs-get-4m-uefa-windfall-from-celtic-s-euro-run/
  19. Kilmarnock Football Club wishes to express its great disappointment at comments made by the SFA’s Head of Refereeing, John Fleming, in relation to our player, Jordan Jones. In a letter to the Dundee Supporters’ Association (DSA) regarding one of the penalty incidents against Dundee, Mr Fleming has stated: “The two-match suspension offered to the player has been accepted by the club which, in my opinion, clearly indicates the player committed an act of simulation during the match". "On accepting the two-match suspension, the club, in my opinion, are accepting the player committed the act, solely to deceive the referee." In our statement on the matter, we made it clear that Jordan denied committing an act of simulation and denied any intention to deceive the referee. The sole reason for not challenging the charge was that we had no additional substantive evidence to submit for consideration so therefore took a pragmatic view to accept the penalty and move on. Having taken this decision and accepted the penalty, we expected this matter to be closed. It is unprecedented for the SFA’s Head of Refereeing to make remarks of this nature. The original correspondence from the DSA to the SFA and Mr Fleming expressing concern over the suitability of Steven McLean to take charge of Kilmarnock matches was completely baseless and cast unfounded aspersions on the referee’s character. It is highly ironic that after another organisation has cast aspersions on the integrity of a match official, it is our club which has been the subject of negative remarks by a senior officer of the SFA. A formal complaint has been submitted to the SFA and we expect the matter to be investigated fully
  20. GROWING THE KILLIE FAMILY If you have bought the fanzine over the last few months you may know that we did a wee initiative in the summer whereby kind hearted Killie fans bought a family season ticket and we found some worthy recipients who for whatever reason would not have been able to attend RP this season. It started with one exiled Hippo subscriber and snowballed so that we were able to give away 10 tickets meaning an extra 40 fans at home games this season. I should point out that the Killie Trust joined us with the initiative and I’ll be chatting to chairman Jim Thompson soon to discuss what we are doing this time around. I need to stress this is not a competition, we ask for people/families to be nominated who due to financial, personal or whatever reason cannot attend. Whenever we do a wee campaign we like to give it a name so from hereon it is called “Growing the Killie Family”. It goes without saying that the fanzine will be putting up a ticket in the summer and the target is to beat the number we reached in the summer. I’m sure you’ll agree we can all play a wee part in helping SSC’s revolution by getting more folk to home games. The manager will tell you that increasing the home crowd has a really positive effect on the players so this is where we can help. Please ensure you pass the details on to all your friends and family as we are trying to get as many folk sorted as possible. Please help if you can and buy a ticket if you are lucky enough to be able to do so. All you need to do is e-mail me atkilliehippo@aol.com and we will keep a bank of all the kind ST donors. I’m not setting any definite targets but I’ve no doubt that we will be able to beat this season’s number. When sending the e-mail please put on all your contact details although some folk want to remain anonymous. I should also stress that the recipients will be kept anonymous at all times although I will tell each donor who is benefitting from their generosity. We’ll be putting the appeal in every issue from now until the end of the season plus sharing it on killiefc.com, facebook and twitter etc. Nearer the time, probably about April/May we will also speak nicely to David Wren at the Kilmarnock Standard and see if we can get an article in the local paper. Huge thanks once again to everyone who helped this time around and I look forwardto us all achieving something really special to help grow the Killie family……YNTTK.
