Rangers in pot 3 got the easiest group Certainly easier than our group from last season. Still some difficult games in there but you’d expect Rangers to have a great chance of getting through.

Great result. Its probably made it more difficult for us to win the league this year and put Celtic directly into the Champions League groups next season? But still.

Close game. Rangers have been poor so far in the final 3rd. A lot of misplaced passes and a lack of fluidity when pushing forward. Could go either way in the 2nd half. Can’t see it being any more than a 1-0 game.

Delighted for Itten and Tav. Rangers’ squad depth compared to Motherwell really stood out today after the midweek Euro games. This’ll put some pressure on Celtic this afternoon but you’d still expect them to get the win at home, even against Hibs who are in good form at the moment.

Delighted we’ll be playing at Ibrox if we can get past Willem. No idea how good Galatasaray are these days but I’ve had a read at their forum and they seem to think they’ll lose against Rangers.

I think the past few seasons are the only times ever where winning the league wasn’t a must for Rangers. Being realistic it was very unlikely Rangers were going to win it and the focus was on building Rangers back up to a certain level of quality. But the talk of ‘so and so has certainly improved Rangers’ isn’t enough anymore. I’m a huge fan of Gerrard but if he doesn’t win it this season then it’s time to give someone else a try, unless as G51 mentioned above Rangers have an incredible season but fall just short. Then a case can be made for giving the management team one more attempt at winning the league.

Meh. Four when when we weren’t in the league and another one that was handed to them. Half of the 10 if they win it isn’t worth bothering about. I think a lot of their own fans even think it’s a hollow achievement. Totally agree winning the league this season is a must though. Then again, that would be the case regardless.

Thought Arfield was superb when he came on also. Bassey impressed when he was brought on, too. Quite a few quality performances from a number of Rangers players today. I’m sure Utd fans will agree it was well worth the £9.99 they had to pay Rangers.

Agreed. They’ve done well so far, especially given Shankland hasn’t been fit but now he’s back he’ll hopefully bag a few goals because he’s in my Fantasy team and he’s not been scoring me many points! That’s what it reminded me of as well. Thought the red for Jack at the time was harsh so it’d have probably have harsh if the Utd lad got sent off today. Seemed accidental. A yellow would have been fine.

He learned a valuable lesson today. If he goes to Ibrox and sets his side up to play Rangers at their own game then more often than not he’ll be made to look a bit silly. That said, they’re a newly promoted side who’ve picked up points in 3 or their first 7 games which include games against Rangers and Celtic. If they keep going the way they are going they’ll comfortably avoid relegation which I’m sure is Mellon’s main objective from the board.

Big dilemma for Rangers.... do they try and improve on their Goals Scored ratio or try and keep their Goals Conceded record intact for another game?.......

Thought Utd would keep things tight like they did against Celtic at home recently but they’ve played a really open game with a high line and they’re getting picked apart time and time again.

I’m sure there will be but I’ve always enjoyed the games against Utd and think the league is better off with them in it rather than some of the other teams. Rather than harbour bitterness from the events of 2012 I prefer to remember games such as winning the league at Tannadice in 97 and 09, Negri and Boyds 5 goals in one game, the 7-1 win in Fergie’s return game in 2005, Mark Kerr’s slack backpass to the goalkeeper in 2008, I could go on. Some great memories.

I think Tyldesley is covering a certain amount of games but not all so it might be Tom Miller doing the Utd game. Not that he’s very popular with oppositions fans either.. Anyhoo, the media desperate to paint this as some sort of grudge match but a lot of water under the bridge and Utd don’t even have the same owner. Just another game. Would take an utter sh*tefest 1-0 win. Hopefully Aribo is back.
