It's already over, we don't have the bottle/nous to win this league, play offs (if we manage not to lose the next few games) if we're lucky🙄

f**k off with this negative pish man.
    Playoffs if we’re lucky?

It’s mathematically impossible for us to finish outside the top four.
Dunfermline in 5th can’t catch us, but due to having a game in hand Morton in 6th can.
But for them to overtake us they need to win all their games.
They play Airdrie on Saturday and if Morton beat them (which they need to do to finish above us) Airdrie can no longer catch us.
Which means we’ll be fourth as a minimum.

We may not win the league but get behind the boys so we can be in a positive mood and good form going into the playoffs.

The first three goals Raith scored against Utd this season had their players noising up Utd fans much worse so no excuse for a glass bottle to be thrown as was tame in comparison from Utd players on Saturday

I don’t think anybody has tried to claim  the bottle throwing was justified and I don’t even think anyone has complained about the United players celebrating in front of us.
We know we dish it out so we’ve got to suck it up.

Airdrie and Arbroath have been our undoing this season, especially Airdrie., not DU.

It’s clearly not United- without the wins against them we’d be well off the pace.
I’m not even mad about the Airdrie games, at least they’re a decent side who have worked out how to play us.

It’s the two implosions against Arbroath that may have torpedoed our title challenge.
If we held on and won both of those games 2-0 we’d be level on points with a game in hand right now. That’s where the damage was done.

I’ve been having a look at what we can expect from us and United over the rest of the season.
    United have 5 games left.
Their best run over 5 games this season is 4 wins and a draw.

    We have 6 games left.
Our best run over 6 games this season is 5 wins and a draw.

That suggests that unless one of us hits our best form of the season right now, there will be more points dropped by both teams.

United definitely favourites but it’s not over yet.

  4. Football fans are hilarious.
“I’ve seen the slow-motion video evidence which contradicts my memory of the incident but I’m going to ignore that in favour of my own recollection of seeing it once in real-time from 100 yards away”.

And how you can say there should be a foul to United at the Moult booking is beyond me.

No complaints with the result though, and maybe United did me a favour by making it impossible to get a ticket.

Baffling midfield team selection from Murray and Goodwin got the game plan spot on.

United now heavy favourites to win the league if they play the rest of the season with that sort of desire and intensity. Important for us to pick ourselves up and get on a good run of form to take advantage of any slip ups by United, or at least go into the playoffs full of confidence.

I'm so buzzing for this game I even resorted to listening to the Courier podcast for their preview.  It was actually a lot more balanced than I expected.  I'd only listened to it once before and turned off after about 10 minutes because both the the presenter and Jim Spence were doing my nut in.

This one was much better (I think it was a different presenter to be fair) and it's always good to get the perspective of the other side.

If that was better then I dread to think how bad the previous one was.

Spence mumbled his way through a load of half sentences that he couldn’t be bothered to finish.
None of them could remember the score in the game at Tannadice without looking it up and they had an argument about who’s hands the title was in before settling on the fact that it’s in Raiths hands, not Uniteds, completely overlooking the fact that at the moment it is still in the hands of both teams as if either win all their games they’ll win the league.
They also mentioned several times about Barrowman putting out cheeky tweets when we all know it’s the clubs Social media, not the personal account of a director.

    1/10, would not recommend.

Your club can release the reason, they have been told fully. Why are they not?

Do we have to go through this AGAIN?

I'm paraphrasing the statement from Barrowman a bit (which came out before your Chairman spouted his corporate bullshit bingo to the press), but it essentially said "United have given us a bullshit excuse, they can spout that if they want to".

Why should the onus be on Raith to tell everyone Dundee United's reasoning?

Barrowman has openly said they’ve given it out and need to be willing to take it when given back, why hasn’t that been shown in actions?

Because the shit housing we’ve done is a bit of winding up on social media.
I expect when Barrowman stated we need to be willing to take it back he meant winding us up on social media also (like Livi did after they knocked us out the cup).

Locking out fans who want to see the game while not releasing a transparent reason for it doesn’t feel like appropriate tit-for-tat for a video of a slide tackle.

But setting up for not to lose can sometimes be counter productive. You are caught between two minds.

All comes down who deals with the pressure better on Saturday and thereafter.

Thats a good point. A lot of the time it is easier to chase than to try to hold on to something.
Rovers so far have performed better when chasing than when we’ve been top.

How many fans will be at Tannadice roughly? And how many will be at Montrose roughly?

I hope that’s not an attempt to intimate that the Police limited the total amount of tickets United could sell.
    Because that sounds ludicrous.

If the police are happy with 3400 tickets going to Falkirk fans at Montrose I can’t think of any logical reason they are the ones telling United to knock 600 off the allocation they safely hosted 3 months ago.

Letting their fans know about next seasons tickets is boasting? We have sold our season tickets at the same time every year (this time) and are letting people know in the same manner as every club on the planet. Again, where is the boasting?

I think the timing is the issue this season.
Would have been better waiting until you knew what league you were going to be in next year.
If you’re in the Premier then freezing at the same rate as Premier tickets from 2 seasons ago is pretty good.
If you’re in the Championship then freezing at the same rate as Premier tickets from 2 years ago isn’t so great.

To be fair your tickets prices aren’t too bad, even for the Championship but it just seems like the board aren’t very good at marketing by putting them out right now and not being able to put any sort of positive spin on keeping the prices the same.

Also, do other clubs put next seasons tickets on sale in March!? It seems awful early!

  11. Agree with that mate, it’s a different type of pressure for sure.

Our fans won’t get on the players backs so much if it’s not going our way, and if we finish second it won’t be a disaster.

Also, a draw suits us far more than it suits them as it puts the title out of their own hands so like Pub Car King said, if the score is level late in the game they’ll be the ones having to throw the kitchen sink at it to try and get something whereas we don’t have to panic.

  12. I don’t agree with the point of view that there’s no pressure on our players.
We’ve got ourselves into the position where we are very close to a league title and it is in our hands.
The players (especially the ones who have never won any honours before) will definitely feel the pressure, especially at Tannadice as a win there puts us two points clear with a game in hand.

There will of course be more pressure on United with the expectations their fanbase and large budget bring, but I don’t think our players are going out there with the ‘free hit’ carefree attitude.
