You could argue we'd have gotten a decent crowd anyway so this might end up costing us money....

It probably will cost us money.
It’s not all about money though, the board clearly think that the atmosphere generated by a bigger crowd and the support given to the team is more important than a couple of grand either way.
    I wholeheartedly agree.

I still can’t make it due to work though, wonder if it’ll be available ppv on Raith TV?

Because Murray pulled a masterstroke by not changing formations whereas Goodwin is a hopeless for not changing formation.

Thats because Murray had a clear plan which was to keep it tight for the first hour or so and then bring on two or three of our better players to cause problems against the tired United defence.
Most Rovers fans would agree that Easton and Hamilton would be in the team if you picked purely the best 11 players, and a good proportion of them would probably add Connolly and Brown too.
Murrays tactic of leaving out some of the ‘best players’ from the starting line up in favour of players like Callum Smith who will do more work defensively and then unleashing to more technical players once the opposition had tired does seem worthy of praise.

Although to be fair, it would have back fired if you guys had been a bit more clinical….

  3. I’ve just about come back down to earth. Last minute winners are the best type of winners, and when they’re half volleys from 30yards I don’t think it gets any better!

I felt for the first half hour or so James Brown looked really suspect, didn’t stop anything coming into the box down his side. Like Millen on a poor day but without the crossing. But to be fair, he grew into the game and seemed solid enough second half.

Rudden and Mullen looked absolutely immense for the first half hour. Mullen was popping up everywhere and Rudden looked like a really intelligent player with his flicks and touches- the ball round the corner to put Mullen through one-on-one was sublime.
They fell out of it a bit after the United goal though.

Don’t think Stanton did much of note but his presence in there was definitely felt- we’re a much better side with him in there.

Key for me was the subs. The fact that the back four (and Vaughan) were the only players not to be swapped meant we kept the discipline and didn’t have to adjust to someone new slotting in.

And being able to keep more or less the same formation (not going full Murrayball) and bring on players in the same positions who were fresh, just as good quality, and  who probably felt a bit aggrieved at having not started so had a point to prove, was absolutely pivotal.

The subs were exactly the subs I was calling for (except I probably would have taken off Vaughan and left Mullen on) and they worked brilliantly.

The luxury of being able to bring on the likes of Hamilton and Easton is unthinkable from last year when our option off the bench was John Frederiksen.

There are a few more negative things I could mention but I’ll leave that until later in the week once the euphoria of that goal has worn off. Now is the time to bask in the glory!

I bloody love supporting this club.

  4. I just hope that all the home fans that have tickets turn up.

I don’t have a season ticket due to working a lot of weekends but I do have an area of the south stand that I prefer to sit in.
Every game that I am able to make I get tickets as early as possible to try and ensure I get a seat in the area I want- most times it’s really difficult and the ticket map makes it look like all the seats in the area are sold but when at the game there are plenty of free seats.
I assume that a lot of them are under 12 tickets purchased because they’re free and the kids don’t want to go to every game.
I’ve no problem with that, I’d do the same with my youngest if I was buying a ST but it is annoying.

Just like English top-flight football only started in 1992, Rovers’ history only began this century… I’m all for the new board blowing their own trumpets but this is nonsense.

I suspect it means our highest attendance in the Championship…. But I agree, if that’s what it means then why not say that, as it’s definitely not our highest ever league attendance.

Kudos to the United fans though, we’ve been in the Championship with Rangers, Hearts and Hibs in the last decade so that’s good going.

I seem to be the butt of some crap jokes geez peace

You’re the butt of the jokes because you were nowhere to be seen while we were winning every week then once we hit a sticky patch you’re spamming the thread with reactionary drivel. Never happy unless you’re miserable it seems.

We are also on our worst run of results for 15 years and on course to blow the play offs from what should've been an unassailable position.

There’s no denying the current run is horrendous.
Murray needs to find a way to stop the rot and everything he’s tried so far has failed spectacularly.
But on the flip side, when you’ve had the worst run of results in 15years and you’re still only four points off top then it’s clear that we had a phenomenal first half of the season so it needs to be balanced with the poor run we are on.
If we’d had a more steady run to get the same number of points we have now rather than consistently good results for half a season then consistently terrible for 5 games then we’d all be delighted at the position we’re in.

A bit of perspective required- the good work for 19 league games shouldn’t be forgotten because it’s followed by 3 league defeats in a row.

Surely under 12s are likely to have an adult with them, and then hassle said adult when they see the pie stall after getting through the gate.

Is that how it works for normal families?

    Mine is more like;

    ”Do you fancy a pie?”

    ”Nah”

    ”Double biscuit? Fudge donut?”

    ”Nah, no thanks”

”Oh well, we’re in the queue now, may as well get a pie for myself….”
