Fair play, what a strike!

Hopefully the boy Samuel can channel Jesus or whatever the f*ck he did that day at Starks Park and do us a favour.

I'd imagine the reason Raith aren't saying what the reason is, is because the reason your chairman gave them is the same gibberish he spouted in the press and nobody can make head nor tail of it.

I much prefer digital ticketing (except for the farce that is the Dundee United system obviously).
I can pick seats together where I know I am going to get a good view and turn up 10mins before kick-off knowing where I'll be sitting and not scrambling around to find somewhere to sit.

This is almost certainly the reason. Grown men who run actual football clubs being so upset by a tweet is quite funny.
I'd be laughing my tits off if I had actually managed to get a ticket.

I can understand the reaction. I wouldn’t like us to just roll over and let United tickle our tummies here. I’m glad we haven't just shrugged our shoulders and meekly accepted season ticket holders, fans who’ve been home and away all season, being locked out of a game where there will be empty seats.
Agree to a certain extent, I’m glad we’ve made our displeasure clear but I don’t think speculating on United’s reasons for it and saying it’s because they’re rattled is helpful.
We’ll all come to that conclusion due to the lack of credible explanation from United so a dignified silence on the matter would be my stance from now on if I was in the Rovers boardroom.0 -

If you're phoning up a ticket office and abusing the staff on the other end you're a c**t imo.
Is probably fair, from the initial statement, to the tweet shared above, to the Interviews by Barrowman it's just stoking those tensions up needlessly.
Tl;Dr, don't be a dick and abuse office staff eh?
100% agree, I was as angry about the situation as the next person but there’s just no need to abuse someone who has not made any of the decisions and is just trying to do their job.
I must admit, I’m getting a bit uncomfortable about the noise Raith are making about this now.
The initial statement was fair enough, if a bit unnecessary but the manager and Chairman talking about United being ‘rattled’ is not helpful.
I think we just need to keep a lid on it now, act with a bit of decorum.
Letting fans know if we’re still pushing for more tickets is fine but much more than that is just unhelpful at this stage.4 -
Anyone care to explain what this gibberish is supposed to mean?
”We played them in December, the demand was there from them and at that point, operationally, we were in a position to give them what we gave them in the West Stand [Shed] and that was fine.
In the lead-up to this game, operationally, that has changed for us.”

Ffs. Have a cup of tea and think about what you're saying.
No, 98% if that's what it was, isn't a sell out. For non crowd w**k purposes, the point is that no one missed out on a ticket, which is entirely the issue at hand. So, no, not the same The "we sold out this time in under a minute" has just been pulled out of your arse and you know it. Which is disappointing given that your next point is "durr, would folk make a fuss on the internet about nothing?" I don't think you need me to address that one.
So aye, some folk on the internet are fucking idiots. Don't be one of those guys.
Lots of Raith fans including myself have referred to the previous game as 'sold out'.
For some reason you've got a real bee in your bonnet about insisting it wasn't sold out.
The social media posts I've shown give evidence of there being less than 50 tickets left 24hrs before the game.
It's safe to assume that we managed to sell another 50 tickets on the morning of the game, but even if we didn't sell some of the shitty restricted view tickets that were left, 98% full is as close to a sell-out as makes no odds.
I think it's fair enough for us to refer to it as being "sold out" rather than saying "we sold 1900 of the 1950 available tickets".
Regarding the sold out in under a minute line- no I didn't pull this out of my arse.
I logged on at 10am sharp to see the first allocation of tickets available- I tried in vain to get two tickets next to each other without one of them disappearing before I could get it in my basket and 1 minute later there were no more seats available that I could buy (no poetic license here- it was genuinely 10.01am).
You can believe that or not, but that's the truth of it.

13hrs later and I’ve still not calmed down.

What are you smoking @Pull My Strings?
The tweet I sourced was showing less than 50 tickets left 24hrs before the game.
Nobody knows for sure but if we didn’t sell out then it was at least 98% full which I think we can agree for the purposes of this argument is equivalent to sold out.
Certainly doesn’t justify a 30% reduction in our allocation.
And in case you haven’t been paying attention, the first allocation of tickets was sold in under 1 minute.
Nearly an hour later United released the rest which sold out in a couple of minutes.
You really think the rest of us have been moaning about it for nearly 12hours because we couldn’t be bothered to go and check if there were actually any tickets left?0 -

I get the frustration from Rovers fans over this, however, can we put to bed that United and Goodwin are bricking it playing this match therefore are holding back tickets.
Are we saying that Goodwin has said "listen I don't fancy playing in front of 2,000 raith fans so can we sell them less tickets please" and the club then saying "OK, that's fine Jim we will do that"
I agree, it's unlikely to be the manager himself making these decisions.
But someone in your Boardroom must feel they'll get an advantage from having less Raith fans (but without the opportunity for more United fans).
The longer United stay silent on the reasons for restricting our allocation, the more we'll assume it's purely because they don't want a large and noisy away support helping our team on the field.

I saw all sections of the Carling Stand go on sale. Both corner flag sections and middle. Must be more than 1350?
When did you see that? At 10am it was just the one section closest to the Jim McLean stand (right hand side as you look at the pitch).

I can’t believe how angry I am about this.
Strangely I think if I’d logged on at 10.10 to find they were all gone I don’t think I’d have been as annoyed.
But I was ready and logged on at 10 on the dot, all tickets showed available but trying to get two together I wasn’t able to select one and choose what type I wanted before the one next to it was already gone.
Then repeatedly checking to see if the next block went up but missing the 2 minute window when those all got sold was just as frustrating.
At least if they’d put them all up in one go (as requested by the Rovers board) there would have been a better opportunity to get some.
Really poor behaviour from the United board, no way to treat fans at all, even if they are not fans of your club.

They surely must have demand for those tickets from the home fans?
It’s totally conkers to fling money away like that otherwise.
What bizarre emotions this game has for me, I want the Fife team to hump that lot, but that could be a league decider, and I don’t want to miss out on derby games next season. They can't sell the tickets they're not selling to us to home fans- they are in the same stand. They're just having 600 empty seats while there are probably at least a thousand more Raith fans wanting to buy tickets.

No, middle section first, working out, parts of a section at a time.
0 -
f**k sake.
0 -
You expect this from the Old Firm.
The rest of us are supposed to be the good guys who support our local teams. United being really petty for some reason.
1 -
Absolute farce the way United have sold these tickets.
Keeping us in the Shed but with 600 empty seats.
Then only releasing a small amount to begin with.
Why not just release all 1300 tickets in one go? We’ll definitely sell them all.
The United supporters calling our social media classless have got a brass neck after this fiasco.
2 -
The absolutely know we’ll sell all 1300 for a more important game than the previous one where we sold 1950 so why not just release them all at once!?
0 -
And just to confirm, they’ve given us the shittiest section of the Shed, next to the Jim McClean stand.
No way that’s the full allocation of 1300 though.

That’s them all gone. I logged on at 10 on the dot and couldn’t click quick enough to get two seats together (clicked one and by the time I clicked the one next to it it was sold). Farce.
Edited to add- all sold in less than one minute.
