The NCL doesn't seek to become part of the pyramid under the current rules, even if the HFL were to end its closed shop attitude, because  compulsory promotion for licensed clubs (if enforced by the SFA in the north) would kill  NCL clubs on geographical, logistical, and financial grounds.  In the past, Wick, Brora & Fort William have left the NCL for the HFL, because they have chosen to apply for membership at various times when the Highland was admitting additional clubs. Golspie holds an SFA club licence, but the HFL requires all clubs to have floodlights under its rules so it is debarred anyway. Shetland FC, and Lewis & Harris FC only play in some of the NCL cup competitions,, because of  their remoteness, the weather & the Atlantic ocean in winter !

As an aside, NCL support levels are better than many of the SoSL clubs, which isn't surprising given the population (and catchment areas) of towns like Thurso, Kirkwall, Tain, etc. Also, the whisky is excellent when the weather is rough !

HFL 2 has been mooted, but it would need to have "north"  (NCL) and "east", divisions,  with the latter replacing the North Junior Super league. (This would no doubt be supported by  HFL  'promotion seekers'  Banks 'O Dee, but no other north juniors to date.  Also, the NCL would not willingly surrender its historical independence as a free standing 'senior' league.

I can't imagine HFL2 would happen unless enforced upon HFL.

Forgive my weegie ignorance, but if the HFL was to invite applications for a regionalised 2018/19 HFL2 championship (with transitional rules re floodlights etc), would most NCL clubs apply?

Population is as relevant a factor as facilities when you consider the amount of talent that comes from abject poverty in South America and Africa.

Case in point being: Scotland produced far better and more technical players when they honed their skills playing in the street and not on divot free AstroTurf pitches.

countries that have kids play futsal (on divot free floors and astro turf) as well as football produce more technical players (Brazil, Spain, Portugal blah blah blah).

On the other points... Indonesia has a massive population and football is loved and played there by many... but they don't develop kids properly for several reasons including widespread (hard) child labour. Singapore is culturally & socially different and kids will get good quality physical education there and will also have access to European style coaching.

Perhaps with the amalgamated professional club league this will now see gifted kids being picked up rather than just the ones who avoided the palm oil and tobacco industries.

    @ Aberdeen?!?!

Copa Del Rey finals have been played neutrally at the homes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in recent years with those teams participating in the final and Atletico are likely to have said honour soon enough as well... that's a more prestigious trophy than our national cup and the teams involved all considerably bigger than any teams  likely to play at a final against Aberdeen in Aberdeen.

Hampden is a shit stadium, easily the worst league ground in Glasgow when it comes to watching a game of football... and even if you live in Glasgow, getting to it is a pain in the arse.

  5. 2 legs for semi of Scottish cup. Finals to be played at Murrayfield unless... both finalists from sames city (then ground decided between them, mediated by SFA if required) or in unlikely event it makes sense to move (such as Hamilton v Airdrie final).

Any neutral stadium for semis in league cup (or even go with a home advantage for the lower placed league team) - the final can be any agreeable stadium.

For internationals... spread the friendlies about far and wide, and let the bigger stadiums bid for qualification matches.

Also, as it seems Aberdeen will move, the SFA should , for strategic purposes, help pay for the move on the guarantee that the capacity will be over 30,000 (meaning the occasional cup final and qualifier can go there as well)

Has anyone pointed out the obvious flaw in using Murrayfield yet, being, an old firm cup final and 60,000 bigoted fans attempting to travel through from Glasgow all at once?

apart from dennistoun and bridgeton, aint that many match attending **** in Glasgow.

but obviously if sevco make a 2nd national cup final and it's against us it would be in Glasgow.

The NCL has reinvented itself during the last couple of years, with Invergordon, St Duthus, Inverness Athletic, Orkney and Bunliddlh (re)joining the league competition.  Looking at its website, it now appears that Balintore FC is also intending to re-enter the NCL next year.  Now 9 league clubs, with 4 others playing in some of the NCL cup competitions (only).

Will the likes of Dornoch or Dingwall also seek to (re)join this long established league from the far north ?

To what end is it expanding, are you thinking NCL will become HL2 ?

Bird? Are you a young Frank McAvennie or Robin Askwith? Show the lady some respect. You've inadvertently done a great thing here. You've given yourself the chance to go to her and be humble, self deprecating. Tell her that you bottled it at the time but were mad at yourself when you got home etc.

    Hell no

never show yourself to be a coward to a woman you haven't pumped yet.

she can get to know him after the deal is sealed

I'm exaggerating for effect but my basic argument I stand by, Nirvana aren't anywhere near as good as folk think they are, and music snobbery is the only real difference between the two groups.

    seriously WTF.

Nevermind wasn't timeless but it is a classic. I would say SLTS hasn't aged well and it's too singalongy.

Perhaps you are just irritated by the kids in nirvana tshirts that never heard a nirvana song or something.
