  1. Important that we kick start our cake walk to the title with three points in this one.
  2. I doubt Millar really wanted to be there anyway, as he seemed to think McLean was a bit harshly treated. He conducted himself well though and clearly gave something of a hoot, which is better than can be said of some previous interim managers. Hope he gets a foot in the door somewhere else soon.
  3. The key distinction to be made here is obviously that failing to break through the ceiling of the top end of the Championship is literal leagues apart from where we're currently at; the only box McCall doesn't tick is experience at this level, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. There's not a single reasonably attainable option who wouldn't represent some level of risk in comparison to him. He's got a track record of immediately improving struggling teams, turning them around with smart signings/improvements to existing players, getting them promoted from considerably tougher leagues than this one and also getting them playing good football into the bargain. As others have said, I reckon the fact we've managed to get him in at all speaks to us being an attractive option in terms of the budget he'll have to play with in January and beyond. Not to look too far ahead of extricating ourselves from our current predicament, but if the club's ambition to re-establish itself in the Championship over the short-to-mid term future is a genuine one, I can't think of anyone better-suited to actioning that, given his track record. I now hope to wake up tomorrow to news that, after seeing them in one training session, he has terminated at least half a dozen players' contracts.
  4. Duffy actually didn't do terribly with us last season given the utter rabble he inherited - the football was eye-bleeding though and his recruitment in the DoF role was arguably even worse than his usual. Couldn't have asked for better than McCall in our current position. Really pleased with that and credit must go to the board and those helping them out for pulling this one off.
  5. 500/1 for a Clyde title win with BetVictor. I'll see you all at the party on Branson's island.
  6. Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad
  7. Hearing a Barry Smith announcement will be inbound within the next hour
  8. Same story as previous seasons really, can't fault the effort of the players but many of them are simply not very good whatsoever. We're undeniably in massive trouble now with Elgin capable of the odd result; hopefully money man can give us an advance on the next decade of donations.
  9. If Maitland and other Good Football Men have overseen the process and think Kennedy is genuinely the best option for us then fair play, I'll give him my support, but I do have quite serious concerns if it is to be him.
  10. Spartans showing what a very average bunch of players set out and coached well can achieve in this division. It is unbelievable how disjointed we were today and the extent to which we relied on Dunachie for ball progression is embarrassing. Says it all about the standard of good old cinch League 2 that we might have snatched a wholly undeserved point at the end. New manager has got a lot of work on his hands between shaping this lot into a non-rabble and shifting a lot of shite in January.
  11. You've got to applaud the wisdom of sticking with a formation on the strength of scraping past a team from two leagues below on a tight tattie field using it. Announce actual gaffer asap pls
  12. That was dreadful, but we did what we had to. Plenty of effort, Scullion made us much better and Leslie grew more and more influential as it wore on. I'm not convinced matching their shape was entirely necessary but we dealt with most of what they offered pretty well - I liked Carswell at centre back, who was much more assured in his work than Sula.
  13. Leighfield leaving that shot that hit the outside of the post was hilarious, only bettered by his hokey cokey for the equaliser. Laughable keeper.
  14. Step aside, there's a new maroon machine in town
  15. It's a pitch which is obviously set up for a battle and there isn't a lot of football to be played on it, but the quality of even our long balls has been so, so bad. We desperately need a Scullion in midfield who will be aggressive, get tight to folk and carry the ball whenever we pick it up. Forbes and Whyte are an absolutely dreadful pairing in there.
  16. Jim McInally also wouldn't be the worst of shouts, if he was in any way interested. Good job at Peterhead before struggling to attract players north towards the end of his time there.
  17. The right decision and I'd say it was made at about the right time, so fair play. He deserved the opportunity to sign some of his own players and work with them to create something more in his own image, and it looked as though maybe the Forfar and Stenny games could've been a bit of a turning point, but it sounds as though he was a bit lucky to survive the Dumbarton game. As I said after that game, I'd like to think that some kind of feelers have been put out since that game to establish possible successors. We're certainly a more attractive proposition now than when Lennon came in and departed, so hopefully we can get someone decent in.
  18. Lennon with Barry Ferguson as assistant/recruitment guru, imo
  19. Time to go, unfortunately. I have some sympathy as he's been lumbered with a fair amount of garbage courtesy of Duffy, but that squad still shouldn't be in a dogfight.
  20. He doesn't seem to have much courage in his convictions and ends up shifting players all over the shop multiple times per game, which is never really a good sign. No doubt that we're in a really sticky spot at the moment and I'd hope that we're at least seeing what's out there if it does come to a trigger being pulled.
