  1. I said about 2 days ago on Facebook that the only player I'd take from Alloa would be ScottTaggart. 2 reasons why, we are really struggling for full backs right now. I've also always felt like he was kinda the one that got away. Was gutted he left when he did. JK I wouldn't want anywhere near us. He has plenty chances and again, there's a reason he keeps ending up in the league below ours time and again. Cawley was rotten in his season with us and he had plenty chances to show what he could offer.
  2. Seriously?? There's a reason none of them are playing in the championship this year.
  3. I regularly watch the Alloa and Ayr highlights amongst other teams in that league and actually don't think any of them are better than us. Obviously it is a "cup final" kind of thing but none of them have anywhere near the quality of any teams we have faced in this division - with the obvious exception of Brechin (no disrespect). If we get 4 defenders fit who can play in natural positions, even counting David Smith as a RB, then we should have a decent chance. All depends on how we approach it attitude wise.
  4. The most significant differences between most of the teams who have "benefited" longer term from a drop down is the difference in size of the club's. Dumbarton are so much smaller than Dunfermline or Ayr. We would basically be on a par with a team like Stenny or Albion if we go down. Most likely to be in another relegation battle than a promotion one. Yes, there have been cases where a team like Cowden went down and came back up but there's quite a high chance that is why they are now (just a few years later) propping up the bottom division.
  5. More than happy to partake in some kind of entertainmentbefore a match at some point. There are a few very good pipers in amongst our fans also. ETA: Are @The Moonster and @Bring Back Paddy Flannery gonna get the old band back together??
  6. I wasn't counting the Brechin games. Ft clubs only. So he was right that is exactly what he said... ETA: maybe I'm being pedantic (or just wrong) but wasn't our 5th last goal the first one vs Dundee United on Saturday?
  7. Yeah, we have most importantly today stopped the rot that has been happening the last fortnight. We have looked completely depleted and everyone knows how far back our league "goal drought" goes. The most important thing was to start scoring again and pick up some confidence boosting results to put us in the best possible position going into what will be a tough game, regardless of who it is against. If we somehow win our next 2 and Falkirk lose theirs, this time next week we can be talking about the great escape and I'll happily join in. But given we have won only 3 games all season - outside of the Brechin games - winning 3 in a row is a huge task.
  8. Really? Hopefully they can move the awards do until after the playoffs (once we are confirmed in them). Has to be Dowie for POTY? Difficult for young player as Wardrop and Boomer both stood out until christmas. Since then they have both really struggled with fitness... if Boomer can get back in the team now he may edge it for me.
  9. He's looking well though. At least he hasn't grown back the silly curls he had whilst at St Mirren...
  10. Are we forgetting he hasn't actually been injured apparently! He has been exiled for agreeing a pre contract elsewhere...
  11. Thanks! You saved me a job. His tone when he was interviewed after the Queens match sounded like it will be unlikely he would be back any time soon. In fact it almost sounded like he was saying Boomer and Gall would be back sooner. Which kinda half happened in the Brechin game yesterday. Where did anyone hear he wasn't injured?
  12. But you basically tried to make it look worse by having Wilson in the starting 11 which is not impossible but extremely unlikely. I didn't expect us to win vs TNS but I didn't expect them to win either. They are rotten and even with us not exactly being at the races we were able to overcome them.
  13. What makes you think we will drop Handling for Wilson? Handling has played a part in about every game since he was fit and Wilson hasn't featured for quite a while.
  14. Think it was more of a, "not sure how it is possible" than a "he won't try". It would mean him getting a flight back late on Friday, which there might not even be, and then still being able to get home and rest enough to play the next day.
  15. Not sure how this will make most feel but I think there might be a few drums and other instruments present a week on Saturday...
  16. Announced at the game yesterday that they should hopefully be available from the stadium as of tomorrow
  17. I was actually thinking that myself when I first looked. I do think we have quite a big squad at the moment though - if we can get some of the more important guys fit! Remember we were missing Sam Wardrope and Tom Walsh on Saturday. Obviously guys like Stirling and Nisbett can't play but if we can keep fit what we do have those guys can play in the league games on the week of the final to rest some of the guys who will be available for the final.
  18. Since we got through the first 4/5 games of the season Dowie has been brilliant for us. In the last few weeks he has been head and shoulders above everyone else in our team, with the possible exception of Walsh. In my opinion Barr wasn't making the mistakes Dowie was in that initial period, but he was playing in midfield which is somewhere he just shouldn't be playing. Difference of opinion though.
  19. I'm not saying Barr is a bad player. But I would say he is the defender we would miss the least if any of the first choice defence had to be absent. Wardrobe, Dowie and Boomer have been better for us and are more important than Barr.
  20. Halfway there. Johnston has been worse than you have said. Barr has been very meh and as already mentioned Mark Stewart was easily the pick of the bunch before he got injured.
  21. I have said this all season, as much as he looks fairly dangerous (about 50% of the time) on the wing, he just doesn't look like a winger and thus doesn't do the defensive side of the game very well.
  22. This reeks of someone who had verbally agreed to come down to training tonight and sign but has pulled out of it last minute. I hope I'm wrong but I now expect Iain Russell to be unveiled as an Airdrie player tomorrow or something like that.
