That's how we played last season... And how many teams play now. It's not defensive at all. We had Made up front, Handling, Roy and Walsh behind him. We also seemed to be pushing Carswell further forward when in possession (albeit that wasn't very often). Furthermore, both of our fullback's when given the chance are capable of getting up the wing and delivering the ball into the box. In fact, if we had been any less defensive yesterday it could easily have been double figures in the goals against column.

You make a few good points. But we didn't set up particularly defensively yesterday. I would imagine most fans would have been quite happy with the starting lineup and few would have made more than 1 or 2 changes, given the option. Nade wasn't all that isolated either. In my opinion he has just been so far off the pace this season. I worry he isn't even going to get started and as our only main option (at the moment) I am concerned. We could really do with a fast, tallish striker who can play the Nade role or play off of him with pace. I'm not sure we will find that player but we should hopefully be able to bring in one more player. I agree that the price increases are frustrating but it is something that not only our club are doing. If we wish to compete at this level we need to do everything we can to match other teams budgets. For what it's worth, I don't particularly think we have got this completely right. As far as the car park thing goes, we are now doing what most other clubs do in the league (possibly even up and down the country/leagues depending on crowd sizes). Having such an issue with it is just pedantic. If it is such a problem park somewhere in the surrounding areas and save yourself £1. The guy on Facebook is just being ludicrous phoning police and the likes...

Pretty much whatever the clubs agree I'm sure. If the club are desperate for a player to go on loan to a team they could essentially still pay their wage and send them out. But I'd imagine it will be somewhere in the middle. Varying quite a bit.

Another positive to be taken was that it was nice to see that Calum Gallagher has sorted out his barnet in the pictures from last night. He wasn't really pulling off the longer hair.

I'm assuming pretty much the full away end were folk from Dumbarton though.

I reckon he would be a very good option to have in the squad. Had he been available earlier then we should have tried to get him in, imo. Unfortunately, I would hazard a guess that he doesn't tick the boxes enough in what we require and we can't afford to bring in any more than 1 striker.

I've taken in 1 game this pre season, which I am more than glad I have chosen to do, so wouldn't know. In fact I couldn't even tell you which player "Boomer" is Moonster. At a guess the young LB we signed but I don't know which one he is by name. #parttimefan

I literally checked last night if Sutton was a free agent yet because with think he would be the perfect kind of player for us. I think he was always a thorn in our side whenever we played Vs St Mirren over the last couple of years. He uses his experience well and if we got Stewart or any of the more mobile guys in some kind of form to run off him he would be a great asset.

We've been lacking a long throw expert since Scott Linton left so I think we should sign him up on that basis alone.

Fair point... But for the fact that Dobbie was still a top player who oozed class back when he was overweight.

Haha never even thought about the fact I was starting a 'keeper debate. As I say, I'm not convinced on Jazza's fitness and would hate to see us even without a sub 'keeper nevermind the thought of repeating Faith's debacle of last season. Just as I expected from Stevo then. He's obviously won though, because he scored the winning penalty in the diddy cup for Annan to gain a bonus point. Stevie must be gutted we couldn't convince him to stay.

Not sure about anyone else, but I am far from convinced about our goalkeeper situation. I would still like to think we could pull someone out of the bag to be our "number 1" (I know the irony as Gallagher already has the number 1 top). There are 2 reasons for me feeling this way. The first is that I think we could get a better 'keeper in and signed. Gallagher just hasn't convinced me yet. The second reason I have slight worries is Jazza is not certain to be fit all season. We seen last season at Morton when Mark Brown had to come on what can happen. If we don't sign another we could end up in a Raith situation at some point... Realistically, we will either bring in no-one or we will sign an unknown 17 year old who we hope to never have to use. A question for anyone who attended the Annan game. Did Stevenson get a hard time or was he just being a helmet when he scored the winning penalty?

With the limited number of loans and loans being so important to a club like our I would say that is not going to be the case. We can't just release him either as all parties (both clubs and the player) have to agree before a loan agreement can just be cancelled. Another note: that wasn't the reason we signed Darren Miller... He just turned out to be shite and an absolute knob.

There's no way this is worse than Livingston...

Is it completely outwith the realms of possibility that Daniel Harvie may return? I know they may look to send him to a full time side but surely he won't be in with a shout in the Aberdeen first team? He may have a say in things and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy his time here too.

They certainly are small made. I know guys who are usually L/XL and are buying XXXL. Frustrating for guys like myself who need a bigger size, but nice motivation to lose some weight

Who did Waters move to? Even on the occasions I seen him playing for Alloa last season he looked awful positionally. Very good going forward but defensively very naive.
