  1. Jeez cant believe so many want to waste so much of what we've got paying off Johnston. He had such a harder time as our club rightfully waited till as late as possible before doing their business. We have done things properly and at the end of the day we didn't gamble on our future as some clubs may have done. What we have is a group of a mix of talented young players and some who are just not good enough. It was always going to be difficult. People here are so impatient! I know our form is wretched but we have saw signs, including yesterday that we arent that far away, despite having such an inexperienced squad. There is no doubt we need to look at defensive options in january. Whilst the 500k payout is most welcome, in some ways its frustrating because the others who gambled WAY more than they should are getting bailed out, but we who lived within our means as everyone should have done are left in a more vulnerable postion in the league table due to our sensible approach.
  2. Does anyone know who the Stenhousemuir trialist was? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  3. See the game at home to Hearts has been moved to friday night for BBC coverage. A massive blow as that would have been a potential money maker with the stream service.
  4. One was Chris Paiton not sure about the other sorry Spot on thank you.
  5. Any idea who your 2 trialists were? Any help greatly appreciated
  6. Whats his name? Just so I can update this page I run on twitter https://twitter.com/PastSpfl
  7. Does anyone know who the trialist who came on for yous was? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Joseph for me whilst not particularly involved in the game showed a bit of composure on the ball and the amount of running he did off it more so in a defensive sense plugged big holes we had seen previously in defence to midfield. He and Pybus worked really hard, infact they all put in one hell of a shift. When you marry that with McKee's excellent use of the ball it seemed we functioned well centrally. Gibson is an absolute credit to himself. Im wondering if he regrets not playing rb his whole career. He overlapped time and again with lungbursting runs and tracked back brilliantly. What a superb player young Maxwell is. At just 18 he looks as though he will have a great career.
  9. Just checking if you can watch a game back in the aftermath of a game if you are a season ticket holder. Missed todays game but would like to watch back if possible
  10. Does anyone know who the Peterhead trialist was that came on? So I can update my Pastspfl twitter page
  11. Was it Hashim Bakar who came on again today? I see you had 2 trialists with one coming on.
  12. Going forward we look alot better this season. Fitzpatrick has been a great addition and we have made other good additions such as Shields and Maxwell. Gibson if anything looks better than he was 5 years ago. East and McGrory have shown potential. Nortey looks tidy on the ball. Ferguson looks an upgrade on Stewart. We just need to iron out our defensive issues, but what we have is a young team with a sprinkling of experience looking to play attacking football. Naysmith set out not to lose and the football we played under him was beyond awful. Give this young team a chance!
  13. Hi just checking was the Peterhead trialist Hashim Bakar. Just so I can update my pastspfl Twitter list
  14. Id like to see either Callum Semple or Liam Fontaine come in for cb. We are badly short in that area.
  15. Who was your trialist on Saturday? Would be really helpful for updating my twitter page
  16. It may well go pear shaped but it seems fans including me are going into this new season with some cautious optimism after a change of signing appraoch. To some degree the approach has been forced upon us with covid impacting the budget massively and teams like Queens Park, East Kilbride and even Darvel taking players off the merry go round to make us have to get more creative. Had those teams not been in a position to sign those players you wonder how many would have ended up here. We do have a few merry go round players such as McKee, McCabe and Buchanan but on the whole there is a youthful energy about the squad. From what Ive seen/heard so far it seems we might have unearthed a few gems.
  17. At the time we thought it was good the Championship getting publicity from the bbc but it might end up being the bane of alot of clubs now in this situation
  18. Im intrigued to see when we play the bigger teams how our viewing figures will look. Lots of the time fans are put off going to away games as its a big commitment but with the ability to watch online perhaps teams like Hearts/Dundee could provide us with significant revenue if thousands of their fans decide to watch from home anywhere in the world.
  19. I have no idea the ins and outs of how much less revenue we will make with streaming games, but could it be on occasion clubs like us could actually make more by doing so? Say for instance when Hearts and Dundee are playing at Palmy you may find alot more of their fans pay to use our service from home than would actually travel to the game.
  20. Whats the plan this season for matchday programmes? Are we going to keep doing them, or are we going to do one online?
  21. As we got Fitzpatrick on loan from Norwich it wouldn't surprise me if we tried to loan either Archie Mair or Jon McCracken from them who are both highly promising young Scottish goalkeepers.
  22. I saw there was a possibility there may be a vote to see if we want to follow suit with the premier and have 9 subs with up to 5 used on 3 occasions but that was a a while ago and have heard nothing since.
