  1. Do you want to tell the DUP there’s a border in the North Channel??
  2. Stranraer is around 95 miles from the Border. Think most teams in the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas would have as strong a claim to be in The Borders as we would.
  3. Struggling to know where to start on the prospect of Caledonian Braves joining the SPFL. Would be extreme sour grapes not to acknowledge that they have a winning team on the park, and most would say that, if they are top at the end of the season, they should be promoted. But football is a spectator sport - all of us on here are spectators - and that’s the main reason why I back clubs having to have a certain level of facilities for fans. I just don’t know what Caledonian Braves would bring to the league - unless they have major plans in place for a better ground. I can’t argue against club 42 going down. I hope it isn’t us, but accept that this may happen if we’re simply not good enough. But if we finish anywhere above club 42, as a travelling supporter I’d far rather see us playing at a real ground such as Brechin or Brora, or Linlithgow or Tranent, than at a cage.
  4. Looking at the footage, and with hindsight, I think you’re right on this. Assumed yesterday it was for handling outside the box.
  5. Good result yesterday and one I felt we deserved. We were the better team first half and went ahead with Russell’s well-taken strike. East Fife we’re always going to come back at us, and it felt a bit inevitable when Trouten bagged their equaliser in their third attempt of the same move - we simply needed to clear the ball, but didn’t. The normal white flag didn’t appear - instead we pushed on and Russell scored again to finish an excellent move from back to front. Right on 90 McFarlane capped a shaky display when he attempted to throw the ball out from the back, but he was well short with it. Realising that he raced out and grabbed the ball again and carried it forward to throw again. Right on the 18 yard line, he was still holding the ball and leaned forward. The linesman called the ref back and a straight red ensued, followed inevitably by one for Dick Campbell, who had already been warned about his behaviour. With the Fifers having used their 3 substitution slots, they had to put Andy Munro in goals for the last 2 or 3 minutes. An exciting game with an exciting end!
  6. At that point you just know that the SPFL would put Rangers B through…
  7. Sounds as if we will be playing in it tomorrow against Elgin. Presumably on sale at ground tomorrow or online soon after.
  8. How many of these Gazette notices do you need, and how common are they for Scottish football clubs?
  9. After Saturday’s flat display at Balmoor we need Gall back in and - if fit - Robbie.
  10. Are Gretna genuinely looking better this season? Was Hearts B side notably different from previous games this season? Or just neither of the above?
  11. These are my bugbear - the huge Fitba experts at your work who continually try to impress everyone with their knowledge of all the leagues and tournaments in the world but couldn’t find their way to any actual ground. These people aren’t Fitba fans, they’re telly addicts. (ps hate them both, in response to the original question)
  12. Was rearranged 33 times before it finally got played in 62-63. Was a question on The Chase recently!
